Now it shows "HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.". Was something else that you have seen before?

It looked like pamm service, nothing more. Myself, I consider almost any pamm service a scam but may be it's just me.
Curiously it got deleted after post here.

Do you think that we will get our alts back? ETH wallet is still untouched, so would think that there is at least little hope.

Situation getting more serious.

They have disabled all mt4 accounts. MT4 servers are working fine, response time still 150ms but after trying to login there is a note "account disabled". Logging worked yesterday fine for many hours after outage started. MT4 server time is now staying frozen at 04:21:22.

They have probably worked through entire night and it seems to me that they could not solve this problem by themself and took everything offline.

It's doesn't trade if the BTC-e backend is down, it's just another frontend.

Well, some trades are coming through over at xbtce.com. Last trade 08:44:32 @ $2440.8 - that means the entire platform isn't completely down. After thinking for a while, it might be that they noticed an intruder within their system, and for that reason decided to shut down their platform till it's known how it got in. If that's really the case, they will surely not share that with the outside world as that would be a guarantee for panic. I however would have liked them to just offer a better form of communication - last statement from their twitter account dates back from 12 hours ago.

any updates?  Huh I have got a few thousands with them that I felt lazy moving the other day, now I'm worried I lost these dollars for good.
You don't worry. They will back soon.

It seems that BTC-e hotwallet for BTC is frozen to point when server went down, so at least coins in that wallet hasn't been stolen.

https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/BTC-e.com

ETH wallet is also frozen to point when server went down, so no coins are stolen from there either.

Any link to the LTC wallet ? Btc-e is big on LTC mostly.

How do you know that the owners were Russian citizens in 2011?

The owners of BTC-e are Alexei and Alexander, who previously worked in ZhK Skolkovo Park, Moscow. Until 2013, some information was available on their identities, but all of that disappeared suddenly that year. We don't even know their surnames. I am also not sure whether they are Russian citizens or not, but since they have worked in the Skolkovo Park, I assume they have / had Russian passports

The "Alexei" in your post could be this dude

Heck, I confronted him few times here in the past but I never thought that he was (could be) one of the Btc-e owners (leading developers). He is certainly Russian, and what's more his overall attitude seems to be kinda progovernment, pro-Putin (if that means anything). I don't know what's happened to this exchange, but I was really pissed off when they hired a moderator for their chat box who couldn't speak proper Russian. Besides, their introduction of betting didn't resonate quite well with my idea about what a Bitcoin exchange should be busy with or involved in

Does anyone else think this may be related to the virus that Russian officials mentioned hours ago?

just FYI, btc-e has been hacked before. at least once and they lost a rather large amount of money. they paid their users in full and without any hassle.

and this is a simple scheduled maintenance they occasionally have.

Hopefully it is a just maintenance stuff. Because BTCecom must have taken lots of precautions after the first hack they had and must be having added security into the project. This is for sure a maintenance and we must not stress out so immediately. The official tweets are being made so no need to worry about it really.
