I love both bitcoin and ethereum, but I think bitcoin will rule in 2018. Ethereum has great potential, but this year it can not beat bitcoin

Bitcoin and Ethereum are the best coins in the world of crypto and both compete .. but bitcoin remains the best coin among other coins and will be the father of other coins .. because bitcoin prices nobody beat it and only Ethereum can compete but can not exceed the bitcoin price ..
I will choose ETH for sure... Bitcoin still continue to have same problems (slow transactions and very high fees)...

still bitcoin still be king and still very far for coins other coins followed. to eth even become no 3 because it was left behind by Bch. 
I think that in 2018 Ethereum has a great chance to win this confrontation.but we will know it only closer to 2019 unfortunately
if you watch the growth of Bitcoin and the etherium, then their price increase is almost the same in percentage. Therefore, if we take this situation into account, then we can make investments without much choice. Everything will depend only on the size of the investment.
