Without doing any analysis, in the direction of price movement, we can conclude that it is now profitable to be on the Etherium, and not in bitcoin.
of course if take into account that almost 90% all crypto currency built protocol ETH, then on the basis of this suggests real prospects eth in the future. about bitcoin it's never say.
Both are worth to have, each has good perspective to grow up to previous prices of 2017 and even more higher!
Of course bitcoin, but etherum is a very good prospect altcoin, so maybe in 2-3years it can catch up btc?
with these price levels, I prefer BTC.

Rule? How come such question arises? If BTC wont rule the ETH wont be even mentioned. ETH follows BTC like any currency. It may indeed give you better ROI but to my mind it can never reach BTC by its value.
I think that today there is a possibility to assume that bitcoin will start again to beat new records in price, so today the bitcoin price is very good for investments, do not miss your point, because in the summer it will cost 20k $ as it was worth in the past year.

In terms of rank and price in the market, bitcoin is the king in 2018. But in terms of usage, lot's of ICO's are using ethereum. 2018 still be the year of these two. Bitcoin as number one and ethereum as number 2.
I think that BTC is more preferable. It is more stable and reliable for investment, and ETH itself already suffered from many problems, including from disputes and hacking.
I like both. I don't think either of them can be ruled out, because they have strong communities and brand names. I believe they are both core holdings in any crypto portfolio.
Yes Ethereum currently has a high price movement and is very fast. but Bitcoin being one of the coins in cryptocurrency that has the most expensive price. You think both Eth and Btc coins have good potential in 2018 Ethereum finds new prices as a result of development in exchange.

In this year, of course Bticoin will still number one because it has more fans and more investor trust Bitcoin than Ethereum which new in crypto world. But Ethereum has more superiority than BTC. That's is ERC20 that was used by ICO.
I think ethereum is more stable than bitcoin, this would be suitable for long term investment. but I think it would be better to choose both, by using the allocation of costs for the purchase.
