It's very difficult question. It's like water or fire. We need both of them. Bitcoin is foundament of crypto. And on ERC-20 there are hundreds of successful ICO's.
Keep both coins. Undoubtedly, they both will grow in proportion to each other. At the moment this is the basis.
ETH has many advantages, such as faster transaction and lower transaction cost. Many projects are based on eth, and it will continue to develop in 2018. I think the market share of ETH occupation will increase this year, but from the perspective of investment, I still choose bitcoin. I can only say this is a kind of investment preference.
The thing is, that bitcoin has still an enormous reliability and popularity because it was the one that started the whole thing, ethereum on the other hand is a really polished project but needs way more time on the field to achieve greater things.
Bitcoin would forever be the King of cryptocurrencies because though its price has reduced it still dominates the cryptocurrencies market.

ETH has very strongly fallen in the end of summer of 2018. That is why now we can say that investment in bitcoin is always more profitable than investing in any alternative coins.

It has been none of both coin in terms cryptocurrency market rise in price. Bitcoin however has done better than ethereum. Ethereum has drop from $1500 to $165 that is a lot of drop in value for ethereum holders!
This couple is constantly trying to compare, but there is nothing to compare, completely different blockades, with a different direction and application. It seems to me more valuable Bitcoin, but more promising is Ethereum.
I don't know that Ethereum can reach the price or the popularity of the Bitcoin, but I think both of them have really good potentials to reach better prices in the future.

If the choice is between this two then i would chose Ethereum. I think Ethereum is going to rise but I do not believe it can rule crypto like Bitcoin.
Non of the coin ruled 2018 they all fell, so annoying they made payment in crypto very hard. I just kept on working with the believe that both will rise from the dead someday again.
Now the price of BTC has fallen again and it seems to me that this year you will get more profit if you invest in BTC. But if you are afraid to invest in one coin, then it is better to divide the investment between coins.
I think the world will be ruled by BTC. Because this is the first cryptocurrency, as well as the capitalization of BTC is a very large percentage of the total capitalization of the entire cryptocurrency market. Therefore, I dare to assume that BTC will remain the leader in the cryptocurrency market. This is really my opinion, but still it takes place.
There is an opinion that now the big players are very skillfully taking away our Ethers before moving to POS.
I also think that the fall in the price of the ethereum is manipulation with the goal of buying cheaper coins

BTC remains number one, but Ethereum shows strength this year because many ICO tokens and airdrops are based on ethereum, it's better to have these two in your wallet.
