Just a quick request/clarification.

I know secondary markets close later today, but can/will transfers (even if only to/from issuers) remain open?

Ideally issuers should be able to lock assets against transfers - or leave transfers open (issuers would want to lock transfers just before a migration - but would want them open until then to allow consolidation/selling back of holdings).

Current locking mechanisms lock all share movement.

It'll take a bit of custom coding to get transfers going between issuers and asset holders directly.  Is there any way to get by without it?  Most issuers are going to prefer it this way anyway, but I understand there may be unique situations.

You could disable trading by simply removing / commenting out the code for order submissions (and make it spit out an error). That way, issuers can decide to lock their asset to prevent transfers or leave it unlocked so people can still transfer assets.

MIGRATION OF ASICMINER-PT SHARES

To my knowledge, Friedcat will not be receiving the final list from Burnside until this Thursday.

If you wish to have your shares transferred to Havelock (AM1), rather than hold direct shares, you must initiate the transfer TODAY.

Most AM1 imports are processed within 24 hours.

Transfer Instructions are here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-migrate-your-asicminer-pt-shares-from-btct-to-havelock-300776

Regarding share migrations from BTCT to other exchanges:

1. Do not email your request more than once.

2. Do not include extra questions or comments.

3. Follow the instructions exactly, nothing more.

4. Do not include multiple migration requests in one email.

The better the instructions are followed, the faster this will be. We're getting bogged down by a high % of people not following directions.

Any changes for those of us with small amounts left on the site, less then minimum amount that is?

No, no changes anytime soon, sorry.  Bottom line is that without a fixed withdrawal fee, we can't guarantee an account won't go negative any other way.  There's no hook into bitcoind asking for what the client tx fee will be in advance.  We thought people would appreciate this approach, since it's significantly cheaper than a withdrawal fee would have been.  Instead people look at the fractions of a bitcent left behind and it drives 'em batty.   Sad

Thanks for the reminder, what happens to stock that hasn't been transferred by the issuer(s) ?

Probably several of them will end up running their issue without an exchange, much as several did after the GLBSE shutdown.  It's easy enough to do with the list of asset holders (we provide) and a custom script.

Do you have any information for us what will happen with our LABCOIN shares??

I'm in the same boat most of you are.  I've held thousands of shares since the IPO and now have no idea what they're going to do.   Sad

See previous question though, it should be easy for them to script a payout if they get hashing going, much like ASICMINER has.

The code that ran btct.co and litecoinglobal.com is up for sale.  The sale will not include the servers, the domains, or any database data, but will include:

- The actual code that ran the site.
- Patch files for the custom patches made to bitcoind / litecoind.
- Example Apache config files.
- MySQL table schema as a *.sql.
- Cron scripts and example crontab files.
- Data import scripts.
- Data export scripts.  (including backup scripts)

Most of you probably already know this, but the API functionality is well utilized and has been integrated with many 3rd party projects and sites such as btcjam, various charting sites, several mobile apps, various trade bots, etc.  So you will get out of the box compatibility with many of the community's best works.

It can all be run on a single server but for performance and security reasons I recommend the following configuration:

- An apache / php / memcache / cronjob server.
- A hot wallet server. (behind a firewall that only allows incoming access from the webserver)
- A MySQL server. (also behind a firewall that only allows access from the webserver)
- A remote linux box to run the cold wallet / manual withdrawals.  (has to run the apache/php stack, plus local cold wallet, should be able to be taken offline between withdrawal processing runs.)

We highly recommend an complete understanding of crypto coin daemons, linux, apache, php, cron, memcache, mysql, encrypted filesystems, network firewalls, etc before trying to operate a site of this complexity and magnitude.

Unless the code is modified to conform with legal requirements of the United States Government, (probably not currently possible, but for instance, if you made up your own currency instead of using an established cryptocurrency it might be legal) any purchaser of the code will have to agree to block US citizens from any site utilizing the code.

If you are interested in the site code, please fill out the following and submit a bid via email to [email protected]:

Quote
Name: (actual person's name)
Company:
Address: (street, city, province, postal code, country, etc)
Phone: (w/ country prefix please)
Email:

I agree to block US citizens: YES / no

Proposed use of the code:

Best possible offer:  XX BTC or XX LTC

LTC-GLOBAL revenue shares currently held:

Let us know via email to [email protected] if you have any questions.

If we get a really great offer we may close bidding early.  Otherwise I expect bidding to run through Oct 21st, at which time we will evaluate the highest bids and a determination will be made as to whether the purchase price makes sense when weighed against the legal costs associated with assembling a purchase agreement.

Cheers.

to all share issuers at btc-tc:
cryptostocks.com is offering you a free move with your assets to cryptostocks! i have done this already with LTC-CHARTS. assets there can also be traded in LTC and DVC!
Cryptostocks - and exhange which has twice been hacked and had funds taken from it, which is horrible to use, where the owner changed the contract on his own shares mid-IPO and then stole from his own investors.  And where, from his OWN accounts, he doesn't even have even cash to cover all the money of depositors on his currency exchange.
Internet justice in action; showing us how important trust is.
Peace.

Burnside, sorry if this has been asked, but what is the exact time of the trading halt? I believe you're on Pacific Time, so will it be October 7th, 12:01AM Pacific Time?

I don't have an exact time, sorry.  That's a work day, and a busy one, so probably around when I get home in the evening.

Cheers.

Great, thanks for the response. Wasn't sure if there was some sort of automated shutdown or not.
