+1 with SF-Man, it's no possible to "detect" VPN (on MoneyPot side).

And regarding "What a VPN hide?", it's depend on what VPN you use.
If you rent an access from a provider, you give the key to the provider, and only him know what you do with your VPN (and NSA, Google, Cisco...) Smiley

None of this matters. The game doesn't care what your IP address is, so why worry about whether it can detect that you're hiding it?

There's no blocked countries, and unlikely a blocked ip address problem. Chrome is the browser i've test in the most, can you make sure you're using a recent version of it?

What if someone is using a VPN? Can you still detect that?

Its impossible to detect VPN.

Some VPN's can not hide you like you think.

In response to consumer demand, the max bet has been raised ten fold. You may now bet 1 BTC in a game. The max house loss remains the same at 2 BTC (if the house loses that much, it forces everyone to cashout to enjoy their 2 BTC profit).

Hypron with balls of steel takes the new max bet out for a spin: https://www.moneypot.com/game/627331 and wins himself a cool bitcoin.

But he lose afterward  Grin  Grin

Perhaps? I make no attempt to try though. You're free to play via tor, vpn or however else you like.  =)

I think I fixed it in Chromium by logging out and back in.

It's quite likely that it was coincidental. When you are at /play it establishes a connection directly to the heroku instance, bypassing the CDN. When it connects to the game server, it uses a one-time-token, which is not tied to your current session and uses no cookies or anything.

Not really sure what is going on though.. Sad

I had the same issue a week or two ago in Chromium. I could see my balance, but couldn't connect to the game server (/play). I switched to Firefox, and Tor, and was able to get in.

Tried every browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari), cleared all cookies + caches and still won't go past the "connecting to server" page once logged in. WTF.

Dooglus - thanks.

Is moneypot working for anyone? It still won't connect for the server for me in google chrome.

I'm connected right now:

Maybe try deleting cookies, using a different browser, clearing your cache? Something like that?

What do you mean? As a casino game I assume it has a house edge and thus makes you lose. What do you mean you can play "smart" and never run out of funds? Makes no sense.

Did you even look at the site?

The very first paragraph of the strategy guide talks about how the game can be +EV.

Do you understand how if you're good at poker you can overcome the rake, long term? This is the same thing, only the game is simpler.

Everytime I go to this site it never connects to the server. It pisses me off now that I sent a small bit of BTC to play the game and now I can't play it...

If there was an active bet, it wont have gone to 89k.....eventually you will loose, stay away from it.

The crash point is decided before any betting happens, and its hash is shown to all players.

stay away from it.

try it yourself! Goodluck!

Your advice seems contradictory. Should I stay away or try it myself?

You're merging my replies from 2 different posts. I had no intention to spread fud or talk bad about it, I just generally said that.

Whoever says they won the greed will take them back to money pot and as I said eventually you will loose, I have lost good amount of BTC, having said that I am not saying that I never won I did but played again and again and eventually lost.

Your 2 posts were both referring to moneypot as 'it', and offering contradictory advice about it.

The first post seemed to be alleging that the game cheats and only picks high crash points if nobody is playing. Maybe that's not what you were saying. If so, do you stand by your accusation? And if not, what did you mean by that?

moneypot is one of the few bitcoin games out there where the odds can actually be in your favour if you play smart. There's no guarantee that you will eventually lose.
What do you mean? As a casino game I assume it has a house edge and thus makes you lose. What do you mean you can play "smart" and never run out of funds? Makes no sense.

The house edge is razor thin. If you were only playing against the house, you would lose over time like normal, even with a razor thin edge. However, this game is different in that you are also playing against other players. If you continually beat other players, it is possible to overcome the house edge.

In short (and anyone point out where I go wrong), each round it is possible to earn a bonus for being one of the longest lasting players in the round. The bonus pot is 1% of all the bits bet in the round. The player who lasts longest in the round without busting gets the first crack at the bonus pot. If there is anything left in the bonus pot after the longest lasting player has been paid, the second longest lasting player is paid. And so on and so forth until all the bits in the bonus pot have been paid out. So by continuously outlasting other players, but without busting, you can win enough bonus that makes it possible to overcome the house edge. It's a mesh of skill and strategy to outwit other players playing the game.
