It is not only your government but most of the governments of different countries do not allow Bitcoin to be used for buying and selling goods. They prohibited the usage of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange because they do not want that people stop using the fiat currency and start using this Bitcoin and other digital cryptocurrencies.

The government want to have the control over the economic and financial sector of the countries and therefore they do not allow a decentralized currency such as Bitcoin to prevail among the masses.

Unfortunately, the government in my country still prohibits the use of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies for buying/selling transactions (payments), even these rules have all been stipulated in law. but here we are still free to trade or invest in bitcoin, our government has not banned it, in the next few decades, I don't know if our government will change its mind and make bitcoin one of the legal tenders, I can't wait to use the asset I have crypto to carry out transactions whatever my needs.

Maybe it’s my country but, am still yet to met a merchant that would accept bitcoin for exchange of his or her much needed services or products. I agree with you that, if bitcoin hodlers or investors aren’t willing to transact with bitcoin as a based currency just yet, the whole idea is thwarted. If the government legalizes bitcoin then we can buy various products with this crypto currency. But where I live Bitcoin trading is completely prohibited and this virtual currency is considered illegal here. The main source of income is currently what we earn from cryptocurrencies, which are exchanged from virtual currency to fiat and then used to buy goods.
