ETH can not only match BTC it will surpass it sooner or later. Don't get me wrong, BTC is great but it's very limited unfortunately. It's difficult to upgrade the system because you need consensus, and it will always have one function which is the transfer of value. ETH from the other side is more centralized which mean it's future is depended on a few genious people (which can be good or bad), but one way or another upgrades are integrated much faster and easier, and besides that ETH offers a programmable way to create any type of application that integrates a myriad of solutions, including the transfer of value that BTC does. Considering that I think sooner or later ETH will surpass BTC in market capitalization.
It never seems to happen. Bitcoin influencing many people, even newcomers know btc better than eth. ETH is popular, but it will exist as an alternative.

How does Ethereum depend on the price of BTC? In June one ETH was over 0.10 BTC and $300, now it's 0.04 BTC but still $300.

First of all it's really important to know that there are two different types of coin:
1. Cryptocurrency- eg. Bitcoin
2. Token- eg. Ethereum
And as they both are different coins there is no point comparing them. As bitcoin is a sort of money you can use in your day to day life. It can someday replace normal currency as it was made for easy global transfers and not rely on national banks.
Whereas ethereum was made for smart contracts. Like it was made to be used when a bond between some people or organisations or individuals takes place. It is used during contracts. A contract like. If a task occurs then this also will/have to take place. For eg. If i sign these papers then this car is mine.
But both compared. I think bitcoin is better. As we all know OLD IS GOLD

It is hard to compare. The target of Bitcoin and Ethereum is different. Bitcoin will become an new asset meanwhile, ETH is a platform support for other coins.

I think it is quite far away if the ETC wants to compete with BTC. in the interest of both things are different, the price moreover. very much different than expected. maybe but not now. it seems ETC still need a lot of promotion to have many enthusiasts like BTC.

eth can't be match with BTC,
eth had a lot of features, but BTC couldn't be replace by any altcoin
For me ETH will only match BTC if it can fit and grow like the BTC, and the gap is very long and that will only happen if the ethereum will increase very high, but it wont happen in that very short period of time, the ETH will take a long time until it became like in the status of Bitcoin.

I think it's quite hard if the ETC has to compete with BTC. besides the BTC value itself is very high compared with ETC may be because ETC is also less well known among the public in general. if it can compete may not be in the near future. probably about 5 more years.
What you talking about dude? Look at the price charts of eth and bitcoin. ETH price is falling down for a two weeks, and my thoughts because of unlimited, and look at bitcoin price, it grows up to the sky. So for sure ETH cant match BTC imho.
The ethereum lead on the technology of the platform but the bitcoin become a leader about the adoption by a lot of people around the world. this time the bitcoin hold a lot of the market dominance. Ethereum is not a correct oppenent for bitcoin because bitcoin is the only one.
ETH sure has a chance because of its promising platform though i'm kinda sceptic about it
It is hard to give clear answer to this question, but I suppose its possible but its very hard. Bitcoin is widely known and widely used, above all crypto. Ethereum does only have half of BTC publicity.
i am agree with you and i think ethereum will need more time to match the bitcoin especially if we compare the price for bitcoin and ethereum. there is big gap for the price and we don't know if ethereum can match bitcoin or not in future, but if the dev and the team with their community is still solid then the chance is wide open. bitcoin is still famous than ethereum although ethereum is used by many ico right now, but still can not defeat bitcoin at all.
For ethereum to match bitcoin, ethereum would have to be around 7-8 times the marketcap bitcoin has now? I wonder why that won't happen..

Till now I can't see anything superior in ETH to dethrown BTC.
Its practically impossible to happen. Although considering the supply, you may think of eth going to 500 dollars very soon. but wont rise abov 1000 dollars ever.
Some days ago there was the news that small no of Ethereum nodes is controlling a large no of transcations of ETH
BTC is a truely decentralised currency with maximum no of developers compared to any other coin. Its distribution is also fair as compared to ETH
