This seems very difficult. Although the continued popularity of the ICO market will lead to the increase of the demand of ETH, BTC has been recognized by many countries, but ETH has not.
in the long run I am sure that eth will be able to beat btc because eth is now in use by many people and eth also has been praised in crypto world
I think ETH will definitely reach BTC value eventually (might take some time but still). But the more challenging part (in my opinion) would be convincing the majority of the people (media, etc.) on the value of ETH, just how important it is and so on. Even now, most people still doubt BTC but they still cover it every time BTC grows/falls.
So, the bigger question is: how do we get people to take ETH (other cryptocurrency that's not btc?) more seriously? Is it only a matter of time? Or does it need to reach a certain amount of threshold so people can start adapting it?

ETH already has a good growth rate. I think this will make people think. But, BTC will keep its positions for a long time

ethereum only can reach bitcoin value if only bitcoin are crash. if not. i dont think a million years ethereum can overtake bitcoin as it the mother of cryptos.. ethereum might be famous for it platform has been used by many ICOs but bitcoin has it own important to all other.
I think Ethereum needn't to wait bitcoin are crash to reach bitcoin value, ETH value can quite pass bitcoin value in the near future. Bitcoin is appearing many problem recently, one of all is high fee for per transaction, two weeks ago i had to spend $50 fees when i sent $200 in bitcoin, this is too wrongful. This inconvenience will do bitcoin lose Ethereum which have very cheap fee for per transaction in the future.
BTC value - no, but BTC market cap - probably.

ETH can reach btc value in longer terms. It will take some more year to actualize.
No, ETH can't reach btc value or the same prices. ETH is too much total supply, now circulation supply for eth is 96,9 Million
while bitcoin is 16,7 Million right now.

It is very possible specially now that it reach $1000 I think ethereums market will continue to improve and would be able to reach bitcoin in no time plus bitcoin's value right now is dropping. I think among all other altcoins ethereum has the most potential in reaching bitcoin in terms of value which makes it also second to bitcoin in terms of market rankings.
that is impossible, even if the ethereum will increase its value, so much with bitcoin..the value of bitcoin also increases and now botcoin is in the top with very far difference from ethereum.
i believe it could but needs a long time to catch up in the value. In crypto world i assume alot of us believe that ETH is no.2 and the potential is there. so why not.
Its not posible that eth can overrun to the value of bitcoin as time goes by eth will continue rising just like bitcoin it start at the lowest price for now its getting higher, the same that the eth will rise and reach to the highest price.
Maybe, just maybe since Eth has a bigger total supply. When Eth will be worth same as bitcoin, its market capitalization is too huge to imagine
but well, any possiblities can happen but not now. 
In longer term, ETH value can even overrun bitcoin's value. Both of this coins are created for different reasons and ETH has a lot of real world usage while bitcoin has become a store of value nowadays. ETH is widely used to create tokens to fund new businesses. Also the transactions are superfast and lot more cheaper than bitcoin which increases its acceptability to the frequent transactors.
Also if we see the market cap, ETH is holding the second position since a long time now. Which proves that ETH is widely accepted and praised by the crypto community. So I believe, ETH can certainly reach the current level of bitcoin, probably not soon but surely in long run.

well there are many cheaper less overhyped alternatives to ethereum, where the supply of "gas" token like ether isnt limited by speculants like its the case for waves
i doubt that ethereum can rise in value therefore
To reach BTC value ETH needs to x10 its market cap, thats 1 trillion. I don't think that's possible.

for now, it is impossible because the value of the ethereum is nothing if you compared the bitcoin. in the last 7 days, the value of bitcoin is ranging at 13,000$-14,000$ while the ethereum is only in the 1,200$ you see the big difference price of these two. and not only that ,the supply of bitcoin is only few if you comapre to the ethereum so the price of the bitcoin is 10 times or 12 times better.

Maybe , time will tell. Forks again and again to BTC , ETH is not the same , so I think there is a chance for ETH , let's see what will happen , I have bought some ETH in my bag.
Yes in my view people prefer a coin with less charges. Eth is playing a great role in the fees. So it would overrun the bitcoin in some period of time. It would take some years. ETH would be the future of cryptocurrency.
I'm not sure that ETH will reach BTC, however, it will be soon equal half of current BTC market cap, I believe it.
