I do not think so. because bitcoin is anymous that can not be detected by anyone. although there are many actions to stop bitcoin, but bitcoin for the future will always live and find its own way to always exist. so do not be afraid to invest in bitcoin.

The latest news is that the US government is look closely at Bitcoin. A number of governments such as Russia and China are also planning to issue their own digital currencies. They clearly see a financial threat from Bitcoin.

What do you think? Can governments kill Bitcoin and replace it with their own digital/crypto currency?

I think the government cannot kill or ban the bitcoin, because the bitcoin is anonymous. No one can kill, destroy or ban the bitcoin. But some countries ban the bitcoin in their country. However, the power of government is useful when it comes in digital currency because they can ban the transactions of bitcoins in their country which cannot be used by the citizens/people of their country.

I think the government cannot ban the bitcoin because as you can see, the bitcoin is anonymous. Nobody owns bitcoin. In fact, there are a lot of countries where a lot of people are involved in the trade related to the crypto currencies and if the governments are going to do anything against them, then surely they will face the pressure from the public.

I guess government have nothing to do with bitcoin yet they are really a big part of it, still they have no stand with it.  Nobody owns bitcoin.  What we have right now are base on peoples wants not any ones. We are acrually part of bitcoin for what is happening on it or what may happen.

Yes government can kill bitcoin in the way how they want to do it for example if there no more people who are appreciating bitcoin they can kill it easily

In fact, it is very easy for the government to eliminate Bitcoin! Close all trading institutions including exchanges and wallets. Fully block the wording of Bitcoin above the search engine and the rest of the Lenovo extensions of Bitcoin
There are many other ways as well by countering the people for using the bitcoin, but why would governments do that. In fact, there are a lot of countries where a lot of people are involved in the trade related to the crypto currencies and if the governments are going to do anything against them, then surely they will face the pressure from the public. So in my opinion, no government of any democratic country will finish the crypto from their country with such a hard stance.

I don't think so. No one owns the blockchain, and that is where the heart of bitcoins is located. Without the blockchain, bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies are dead as well. So we might want to protect the blockchain for whoever controls the blockchain has complete control over cryptocurrency.
You're wrong mate and we should be thankful that not every other government are like Chinese government because if every countries government place ban on bitcoin and other crypto currency that the doomsday of crypto currency.

It is indeed a threat. In the a country'view, some transactions need to be tracked, for people 's safety purposes. For example, imagine that an assasination happened. The government caught the hitman and the money he got from the opetation. They want to track it. If it is in bitcoin, they can't. In that case , they will just prohibit it ,or they will just replace it with a new cryptocurrency that can be tracked. Which is different from bitcoin.
That is why i dont think that bitcoin will never lose its popularity facing these kind of problems

They can, if there will be a global ban on bitcoin where nobody can sell or buy bitcoins. Because bitcoins value depends on the demand. But I think that would be impossible due the fact that some countries are already using bitcoins in their transactions and feels satisfied with it.

You are definitely right about that. Yes the government can kill bitcoin because they have the power to do so.

How do you say so? Take a look now, bitcoin is continue growing and being more popular to the people and I've read on this forum that government want to have a tax of bitcoin. I was very disappointed when I have read that statement. In fact there is no more people could control bitcoin because it is an online system, decentralized. There's a lot of people focusing to do bitcoin as their job because they know that someday they will become rich.

The latest news is that the US government is look closely at Bitcoin.

they are very tolerant to bitcoin, if they took hard measures like china did, probably the bitcoin price would be less than  $100, the US has great influence in the world, so I think many countries are not taking hard measures like china and Russia because they follow what the US does. Now it is clear that one must be very careful with Russia and China, people should not go to these countries if it is not a case of extreme urgency because in these two countries freedom of expression, human rights and freedom of the press are not respected, it is not only the bitcoin they want to destroy, but rather the democracy and the rights that their citizens have

A number of governments such as Russia and China are also planning to issue their own digital currencies. They clearly see a financial threat from Bitcoin.

What do you think?

Russia and China just want to have total control of their citizens to oppress them

Can governments kill Bitcoin and replace it with their own digital/crypto currency?

No, even if they did a lot of research, they would realize that bitcoin does not pose great dangers, so why ban bitcoin? fiat, gold, oil, diamonds, uranium and so much natural resources and other things are used to hurt other people, it does not make much sense to say "let's ban bitcoin because it's used to commit on crimes" this sounds like a joke

The government may limit the development of bitcoin, which the government cannot prevent.

It is not possible for all countries to ban bitcoin, as some countries have fully legalized it.
