What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?

As one ages the thrills you experience from so many things you engaged yourself in dies gradually and soon you no longer find yourself craving to participate in that event anymore and the same goes with gambling - back when you were a youth or much younger you’d spend hours on your account gambling but as you grow older and wiser you’ll start to realize that the amount of time you usually spend there would be more productive if you direct it to something else and so you’d do that and before you know if you are already losing interest in it and then finally you no longer want to gamble again.

As one grows he’ll get to meet different people and participate in different activities and also learn different and new things and all that will contribute towards your old habits, whether you’d leave it or not depends on the things we experience as we grow.

In the meantime, I want to discuss the reality that a gambler can reach the age where he doesn't want to gamble anymore. When we start aging our priorities in life start changing. We get to have more responsibilities in our hands. Remembering the extent to which we gamble when we are youth it is observed that gambling can be more appealing during our youth stage. But it's less when we get older.

The reason why most persons stop gambling while aging is because of financial security which I mentioned earlier about taking responsibilities, being focused on their family, retirement, and other life goals which gambling may not be important at this stage of life.

There is something I want to let us to understand what ever we have done or practice for a long time like 10 years practicing the same thing you will be tired one day so I relate it with gambling when you are gambling for 10 years or more than 10 years I think that it will get to a certain age that you will not have such interest to participating gambling any longer so that is what happened age you can make you to stop involving in gambling and the experiencing a huge loss can also make you to quit from gambling this are the things that can make you to forget about gambling it is not all about aging because I've seen people who is up to 60 years and the above but they continue to gamble so something of such nature.

The age depends like what age limit can be considered including the health benefit attached when old gamblers quit gambling, I prefer reading more about the health benefit because sometimes gambling can affect emotions or health in different ways so aside inadequate funds older people should consider their health first, secondly older people still gambler in good health with a nice cash flow so should we advice such person to stop also? Personally I will advice they stop because gambling can be unpredictable leaving most gamblers in shock. It’s easy to say but the problem comes when they refuse to take action, youthful age also come with responsibilities but I understand what op is saying still don’t know if everyone will be willing to stop.

Naturally a gambler can stop gambling because they feels like stopping and could see it as youthful play. I can remember those days while with my grandma, I will jump up 10x and asked her to follow and jumped she will say my son that is a baby play that she can't jump again I will just smile and let her be. So in essence, one must not quite gambling due to much activity but can quite gambling because they felt is Longer suitable for their health especially when they are of age it may cause a high blood pressure for them where if they lose they may slump and give up.
What interests will an old woman have with jumping, mate you most be very funny to think that your grandma will fine your jumping interesting when she have other important thing to focus and think about plus the back pains that comes with old age, so for that you may have to do all your jumping alone, samething applies to gambling, there is a certain age you get that you will lose the enjoyment for gambling or playing any gambling game's at all, this is a stage that other things of higher interest would have occupied your mind by that time, so gambling won't be among such things that get your attention any more.

But we have some addicted gambler's won't quite for whatever reasons, and as a matter of fact will be ready to gamble down to his grave 🪦, is addictions and at the same time a hubby for such a person.

Like you said earlier younger adults may have less responsibilities but as they aged, if it becomes hard to have spare funds for gambling, they may likely take a break or even quit entirely. Though I will say those who have found gambling as fun and entertainment, will likely go back go it, when that phase of their life is over.

While others who are into gambling in order to make money, will more likely continue during this time and risk possible fall off out of desperation to make more monies and take care of the bills. This more likely will lead to a regretful stage for such individuals life and expect they changed their perceptions or mindset, they likely see gambling as evil.

I'm not sure but I believe age is not a valid reason for stopping gambling because personally I have seen gamblers who are above 70 years in age and still they gamble just like youngsters. I believe the only reason to stop gambling is when you decide that it's no more entertaining and it's wasting your time, however someone who has been doing it for longtime might not be able to have that type of decision easily.

The number reason should be like the one you mentioned above. A person who is a responsible gambler is most likely a responsible father and husband as well.
Me, I was a regular gambler during my bachelor years, but started to realize that gambling may bother our finances when I got married. I didn't totally put a stop to it, but I made a huge adjustments that I will only gamble a small portion of my income, but not as frequent as before. I only gamble occasionally currently.

Likely people hit an age where they have serious financial goals and can't be sidetracked by gambling losses.  Then you get old and can't do much physical activity and your eyes are too bad to play video games... so you hit a casino and stare at slots all day for entertainment purposes.  Most of those old folks you see gambling on the penny slots don't need the money, they need the excitement.  That's ironically why younger people should be gambling as well, but some wisdom comes with age.

Sometomes as you get older you get fewer urges to gamble so really it's worth a shot to wait it out. Just tell yourself you won't want to gamble later and you're not gonna win big now anyway.

At least buy yourself some time maybe you can kick an addiction out this way. For instance many people get big urges to gamble when young. One thing is the fact that as a young worker can come to a hard situation when gambling so he may want to restrict himself mirem wait a few years and the interest of gambling may go away completely.

One thing I have experienced in life and aging is that, the older we get the more selfish we become, so for that, we can't compare the risk tendency of a youth to that of an older man, because as you said priorities may have changed by that time, a young guy can still risk all his cash reserve on gambling and he won't care if he lose it all, but an older man won't take such step without thinking twice.

What makes the difference so much is the responsibility, she not as if the older guys doesn't have the motivation to gamble, but the truth is how much leftover funds will ye have after paying bills and catering for the entire family.
