What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?
There are several things that can be considered why someone stops gambling when they are old, including finances that cannot be stable, because old age is very difficult to find work or income, a family that is no longer with gambling, more concerned with time with family and enjoying life without gambling, and finally he returns to his god, because some religions prohibit gambling and consider gambling to be a wrong act, because people who think old that he will die and return to his god and want to atone for his sins by stopping all forms that are considered wrong in his teachings, that is the most core answer from me.
Apart from the above, I think the main reason why people try to get rid of gambling is that as they get older they can't handle the stress of gambling. There are some who give up gambling when they are old enough to stay physically fit. Some may follow religious restrictions. But a person is usually not able to get rid of gambling easily until he can afford it. However, there are many gamblers who are willing to gamble even after getting older, they don't accept gambling for financial income and many are old even though they have sufficient sources of income and do not feel the normal pressure on them. Above all if the gambler is willing to gamble on his own then nothing can stop him from gambling. However, it is best to give up gambling when the age over the normal range.
Or the simple idea to lose your interest of an activity which is a normal thing and is common to everyone. As we age we simply change our interest although there are things we retain but also things we tend to set aside. Change could also be planned, such as if a gambler would be taking consideration the risk of being addicted or being in debt in particular with stories of people having nothing left in their accounts. As we grow, what's common is to mature, to shift your interest and goals in life; and that might include removing activities you think are not necessary to long term growth. When it comes to older age being involved with gambling activities then that's completely normal especially for them who are out of work already but are having pensions. It's just a part of them choosing what will entertain them. So when's the right time to quit gambling? when you're having a feeling that you already need to do so 'coz if it will just be forced then for sure you'll just come back to this industry, afterwards. Think and settle.

Gamblers will only stop from gambling when they don’t have sufficient funds to gamble anymore. Or they feel they have been losing a lot but never make significant gains. Also, when gamblers reach retirement age, their emotions are not so flexible anymore so instead of gambling and going home frustrated due to losses, they will spend their time doing their hobbies and favorite activities together with their loved ones. I think your mindset when it comes to gambling also changes when you are aging.
Most gamblers retire when they are completely bankrupt and don't have any more capital to gamble, that's where they stop. From several analyzes a gambler who has never made a profit will definitely be frustrated and regret what they have done now. therefore they spend a lot of time continuing their hobbies to avoid falling fundamentals that have drained their finances.
I don't think there are gamblers who retire as they get older but don't have the funds to bet anymore, they will automatically retire with their financial situation, they don't think anymore with common sense, we hope that we will get more profits, even though it is the opposite.
My perspective is more contrasting, it is true that players only stop when negative numbers start to creep into their accounts but there are stages, a person with age will have a certain maturity, they start to think more about each step as well as reassess their perspective on gambling. Life has too many variables that affect this thinking, the number of years of age is proportional to what is accumulated in life, more thoughtful thinking and falling into that state, there are many things that have more meaning and importance than gambling, it can be family or a special relationship, feeling like this era no longer belongs to them, gambling belongs to the young more

gambling can be a serious problem for many people who can't control themselves in gambling, so often resulting in gambling addiction which eventually makes it difficult for someone to quit although they continue to experience losees, the difficult in quitting can be caused by several factors, such as the hope of recovering losss, social pressure, or even just a habit that is difficult to change even when they are old and broke, I think gambling addiction is similar to other addictionwhere the brain continues to seek thrill and satisfaction from the activity regardles of financial condition or age, so that's why I'm not too sure if someone will really quit when they are broke, because sometimes many of them will continue to try by any means to gamble although they may have to cheat others, steal and even borrow money from others.

You have a good point.
However, being completely bankrupt might not last for a day or weeks. Now the question is simple, what will happen if the gambler finally gets more money? Actually it's so obvious that the gambler will suddenly continue what he stop because he or she was not having any money to continue, so he will start from where he stop on gamble. What might make a gambler to retire from gambling on his own will is only when the gambler is very old and can no longer walk to the local casino or fills too lazy to use the online casinos.

I think that is quite the most logical and wise reason in seeing why those who have started to age stop gambling, because of the impact of what they see and think about old age and having to be a role model for their offspring, needing good things to emulate, then they want to not do it anymore because it has become a definite prohibition, that will be the most important thing.

I know an old gambler and he said that too yesterday, he felt that he was no longer able to make money and just rely on his son, so there was no way he was gambling using his son's sweat, and fortunately it made him realize that he would also return to his god sooner or later.
Yes, I think they don't want to see their grandchildren know and see that their grandpa playing gambling with their friends. They may copy of what they see from their grandpa and maybe they will playing gambling with their friends. When their parents caught them playing gambling, those kids will say that their grandpa also playing gambling but why his parents not telling grandpa to stop.

That old man that you knew doing the right thing and stop gambling. He can realizes that he can not rely on his son's money to playing gambling especially he can not make money anymore.

Family will be the reason why they decide to stop gambling. They don't want to show that they lose control in gambling while their kids grow up and married and they have grand children. They may feel that it is not good when their grandchildren see their grandpa playing gambling and lose the money while actually, their grandpa can use that money to buy their favorite food or drinks.

When someone getting old, he may thinks about religion and realize that he doesn't have much time to live with his family. They can also quit gambling because of their religion and don't want to use their time to chase many things in this world and want to closest to their GOD before they die.

Age is not a factor in gambling. Most of the time, gamblers shift their thinking towards careers or passionate activities just to get rid of the losses out of gambling. It isn't an easy thing to simply get out of gambling and make ourselves better. When a person starts to experience financial difficulty, he thinks about moving on, because being on it is going to drag him downward and doesn't allow him to progress in life. Gambling is not a never-give-up thing, as like one's hard work to reach his dream company or some kind of achievement he had thought. People who are lucky gamble continuously, whereas the person who experiences loss realises it and concentrates on family and other development processes. Some get addicted and end their lives, and the right one takes a break, settles the family and all commitments, and once again, with limits, starts in their retirement life.

A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.
With age comes wisdom, which is true for most people but we really need to stop thinking with the mindset of "too old for (insert thing here)" nonsense. Everyone is different and everyone grows up mentally at different rates. And to say something is immature or childish makes no sense, since that thing might only be childish from one persons perspective but not someone elses.

Same goes for gambling. I mean sure, if you gamble long enough you might get tired of it but consider the people who discover gambling later in life.

In the meantime, I want to discuss the reality that a gambler can reach the age where he doesn't want to gamble anymore. When we start aging our priorities in life start changing. We get to have more responsibilities in our hands. Remembering the extent to which we gamble when we are youth it is observed that gambling can be more appealing during our youth stage. But it's less when we get older.

The reason why most persons stop gambling while aging is because of financial security which I mentioned earlier about taking responsibilities, being focused on their family, retirement, and other life goals which gambling may not be important at this stage of life.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?
I'm not sure about that at all, to be honest. Many people betting on horse racing are old, many people gambling at casinos are old, and many people participating to national lotteries are old too, so I think many people gamble till their death, they maybe don't bet on the same sports or the same games, because the tastes change during your life and you feel certainly less connected with sports practiced by people way younger than you in your old years.

Old age will make you not enjoy the fun in gambling anymore, because you will not derive pleasure in it. The moment you don't have appetite for gambling, you will not see it entertaining anymore. There are a lot of things that will be put aside at old age, because it's not what you want at that time. However, if you are the type that gambling is your hobby, you can continue gambling when you are old since you are still enjoying it and do it for fun, to keep you away from boredom.
old age does allow more thinking to be directed at other things such as utilizing or looking for other activities that do not involve money but can make us happy, what you said is true, when old age is felt then gambling is no longer an entertainment because of the clear risk that will occur it might make you realize that it is no longer something that must be done to find pleasure, but whether with those who are billionaires, maybe they still make gambling an activity to find entertainment or pleasure.
But I think there are people who are old and still make gambling an active activity, that doesn't matter to me as long as they have a lot of money or what I mentioned earlier is a billionaire.
When some game's are taken as a hobby that level, regardless of the age and time, one will fine those games pleasurable to play, and for sure securing an environment that compliment your personality is kind of a big deal and for sure alot need to be taken into consideration while dealing with that, but majority's of the older people who gamble, they basically do so for just fun and not the money involved, and that is why you will fine them in the free games corners, because they won't want to risk they money on betting on game's at that time.

Then it's just as ugly to see that we're old and we're still gambling. Even if we say we are just enjoying the time we have in this world.
I think with this thought, if you think that it's ugly when we're already older and we still gamble, that's okay.

We have to mind our own things with this and if we're not bothering other people, other people's money, there is nothing ugly there as long as it is our money that we use for gambling.

And we're not solely addicted to it, look at most of the physical casinos, who are those mainstays there, the oldies because they've got money to spend, to gamble.

You have pretty much mentioned everything that I can possibly think of, but however, this is one part that you perhaps, forgot to mention, some aging people sometimes, or most time in and out of hospitals every day,, some are going for medical checkup, others are going to medications doe ailment and so on, someone with health issues to worry about likely will not even remember a thing or activity called gambling exists, even if he or she has been a gambler in their younger days.

So, the above is also one of the reasons why aging people may likely quit gambling. And let me say that health issues may not likely be something that concerns old people only, even the young youth with a health issue can also quit gambling usually until they are OK.

As for me, if I remains in good health even in my age, I won't quit gambling, but at that point in my life, I will no longer gamble to make money, but just a means stepping out and having fun..

Another factor is money because when we are in a senior stage, our pensions and incomes goes to our maintenance medicines if we have many symptoms, all our funds goes to our medicines, so we got that need to stop gambling.

Agreed, when we get to order ages we shouldn't be taking too many risks again. I don't support old folks to be gambling to look for money, by that age they suppose to have planned their retirement and have enough money so that they won't be looking for money again. Supposed they didn't plan well, they should still not result to gambling but look for other senior job that they can do for money. Gambling should only be a means of having fun and not looking for money.

At old age, our thinking will not be as smart as it was when we were still youthful. When I see old people gambling, it worries me and I wish there was something I can do. I could give them money but I won't because they'll only use the money to go back to gambling and continue to lose until they don't have any money left.

Priorities. This is one of the reasons why gamblers are changing their coarse and stop gambling. They no longer prioritize their own enjoyment and they need to focus on other things like as you've said, aging which is also including being a family person. When you've got a family on your shoulder that relies and counts on you, you'll have to sacrifice anything that you are enjoying with so that you can sustain the needs of the family, your kids and your wife/husband. This is the reason why some gamblers successfully quit because of their priorities although every family guy can go back to gambling anytime they wish to as long as they are not putting into jeopardy their duty as a family person.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?
Not only in gambling but on many activities that involve motor coordination like eyes, decision-making, and quickness of hands, we all know in gambling we need to be fully aware of what we are doing, from analyzing the game to putting bets, and if these coordinations are lost, we tend to lose our motivation to play.
Another factor is money because when we are in a senior stage, our pensions and incomes goes to our maintenance medicines if we have many symptoms, all our funds goes to our medicines, so we got that need to stop gambling.

Old age comes with some level of non-involvement in some desired activities, but you see gambling, the only constraint to gambling is when your gambling friends as a whole are all dead and you are left with no one to visit and gamble together and also when old, people tend to stop gambling with the casino or betting houses since and resume gambling among themselves. I see old men in the neighborhood visit each so they can gamble among themselves, although most times there are no stakes, and they do it now for the fun of it and as a solution to the loneliness that comes with old age. Although once in a while I still see them in gambling houses to print out games which tells me that old age reduces your gambling ability to the barest minimum but does not eradicate it totally.

I think some of them are just suppressing it, cause there are too much risk for them, when they get older.
It isn't just about money anymore for others it could also be their family, I know some who almost broke up with her husband due to his gambling addiction, so I think it is just a choice that they made due to their responsibilities.
A lot of things can make one stop gambling as he is getting old. The old man might not have the time to gamble anymore due to family members around him that he needs to make happy. He might not see gambling as fun anymore, and has other games he plays for fun without money. It might not be good for his health because gambling is emotional. No one was given birth as a gambler, and I believe that no one will gamble till death calls him at old age
