You have a good point.
However, being completely bankrupt might not last for a day or weeks. Now the question is simple, what will happen if the gambler finally gets more money? Actually it's so obvious that the gambler will suddenly continue what he stop because he or she was not having any money to continue, so he will start from where he stop on gamble. What might make a gambler to retire from gambling on his own will is only when the gambler is very old and can no longer walk to the local casino or fills too lazy to use the online casinos.
Sometime people change when they're at their lowest point, went broke or homeless will make them remember if their life were beautiful than now. You know, mindset is really important, when the rich go broke, they can still able to recover. But, when the poor go broke, they're hard to recover, most likely they will end up being homeless for the rest of their life.

Retiring from gambling is quite hard, but not impossible because I've heard many people shared their stories.
One dangerous thing about mindset is that it changes immediately you have much money (the ones you do not expect), that's why most of the time when a gambler win huge money he might start staking higher amount and immediately he or she have lost them all, they will start thinking straight, but anyone who's discipline would not make such mistakes.

In the meantime, I want to discuss the reality that a gambler can reach the age where he doesn't want to gamble anymore. When we start aging our priorities in life start changing. We get to have more responsibilities in our hands. Remembering the extent to which we gamble when we are youth it is observed that gambling can be more appealing during our youth stage. But it's less when we get older.

The reason why most persons stop gambling while aging is because of financial security which I mentioned earlier about taking responsibilities, being focused on their family, retirement, and other life goals which gambling may not be important at this stage of life.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?
Not really just that on gambling but also in other things in life specially into those times or moments about dealing into something while you are still on your youth days or when you are still single and young.
You wont really be thinking up about priorities and needs on which you will really be just that living up your life to the fullest. Its not really that bad on having that approach but everything should be in limitation.
As you do go older or your age is really that increasing or the years are really that becoming even more higher then your thinking will really be getting matured on which you will really be thinking up
about those things which is more important. You will really be prioritizing it over and would be leaving out into those things that you have been doing in the past on which this is really that a normal act.

We do really come into a point that we do get bored and made out some realizations into something which is more worst. In speaking about gambling then on the moment that you do get bored on playing
plus having that kind of feeling on wasting up too much money with it, then you will eventually making up some adjustments and will really be mindful about stuffs specially if you do have a family.
You wont really be that making those steps that will really be putting you on a tough situation specially with financial aspects. Is just common sense that you do adjust accordingly
on which you do sees on where you do benefit out and avoid potential problems.
But not all people do really be able to think it up directly, some of them do make out some changes on the time that they are experiencing some unfortunate conditions
and wont really be doing these acts before disaster comes which is really that sad. Its a normal act that they will really be doing that they do stop on early base and wont
be that trying out to get in line with their ages but rather will be basing up into the experience that they had been able to encounter.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?

I think it's an illusion to think that old age brings more responsibilities.
In my theory, a person becomes more responsible when they get married and start a family with children. At that moment, the man or woman begins to think about the financial stability of other people who live and depend on them.

In old age, many no longer care about what others think, knowing that they are at an age where time is much more precious than money. They want to make the most of life and so they end up taking more risks.
You can do some research and you'll see what I'm talking about... many older people get into debt more than adults, second only to young people.

If there is something that could limit your bets, it would be physical limitations (of movement, for example) or financial dependence on other people to support yourself financially, where resources come from and are controlled by your children, for example.

We are constantly changing along the time, so it's expected preferences for hobbies will change as well, depending the current moment we are living, and the past experiences we had with a determined hobby. If your personal experience with gambling has brought negative consequences to your life, you are likely to avoid it at some point, because it has attached a negative emotional meaning to you. On the other hand, even if your gambling memories are positive, you may also reach to the conclusion you don't want to gamble anymore, because it has become a repetitive hobby for you which don't have anything else to add to your life from now on. The variables are many.

I've seen such kind of topic before but it's not directed The Way you arrange your sentence but I know that someone has made some emphasis concerning age to the ability and the age effect, I know very well that gambling have a retired time, when you're aged you will not have the interest in gambling because you have done such for long time in gambling, but their some people who gamble until the depart from earth, so in gambling you can decide to gamble until your arteries are weak and you can also decide to stop gambling at age of forty or fifty years depends your love in gambling and also interest on gambling

For older people, I do not think that there could be age limit, I mean if the person can still think and push a button, then obviously that individual can play. But if his body is giving out already and needs help from someone to do his daily routine then that person should not think about gambling.

And if you go out in physical casinos, they are very friendly to our senior citizens, and they have a strong following from this age group. And for obvious reasons, they just want to have some from of entertainment and social activity. We could even consider that it stimulates their brain as well.

In my opinion, age is not a benchmark for gamblers, as long as they are physically able to do it, they will continue to play. What forces a person to stop gambling is boredom and bankruptcy. In my opinion, these two things are what make many people stop gambling.
This is a good point because in the end no matter the age when we talk about gambling then all can still do it considering that gambling sometimes does not look at gender or age but it does pay more attention to the money that is owned so when they still have money no matter old or young, male or female then all the same they can still do gambling until it is completely spent.

It is undeniable that sometimes there are some people who are in a saturation point and do not gamble anymore after some things that happen but that is only a small part of the majority of gamblers who are gambling today.
Gambling has always been one of those things that is sometimes difficult to separate from someone even though it is for parents when they are still gambling and still love some games in gambling then they will still continue to do it.

This is an important thing about gambling. What we always give priority to stop under aged gambling and there are lots of terms and laws about this but I don't find about any rules or condition about when a gambler exceeds an age where he shouldn't be gambling.
A gambler must have an idea about money management or his mental state must be at the level that he can manage money so that there is no major loss from gambling. And here after an age, people lose their ability to manage this money. And then if he gambles, there will be more concentration than pleasure. Moreover, another main point here is that when a person reaches old age, his earnings are not so much, when he goes to retirement where he should play a responsible role. There is a possibility of many irresponsible things happening when gambling here.

We have discussed something like this in the past, whether young and old who gamble more and it is likewise related thread but in different dimension. Some of the addicted gamblers gamble even in the old age and they only left gambling when they can't go to the center from 60s. And I think at that stage they are not thinking to win more money from gambling to feed the family or to carry out some projects but focus on keeping up the family needs.

Gambling at the young/ youth age have destroyed many homes. A woman left her husband last year in my community because he the husband stole her market money to play gambles everything good day. And I think at the age of 60s he won't do again because he has to be responsible in his family and provide for them. The way I look at, there is a gambling limit age for all gamblers though some might exceed the age.

As long as you are above the age of 18 there are no age restrictions or limitations but the only thing that can stop you is when you start having a sense of responsibility. Imagine someone that earns a hundred dollars monthly, it would be easy to gamble with 50 dollars which is way to high for what he earns but after losing that amount he can still focus on doing other things with what he has left but if he is married and probably has two kids it would be hard for him to make such a decision because he has a sense of responsibility, this Is one thing that has stopped a lot of people from gambling

But what u would say is that responsibility can also make a gambler to quit gambling. As we grow older we also have more responsibilities to take care of and one can not keep his responsibility aside and focus on gamble only. However, I believe that we all know that lack of responsibility make us to gambler more. So when we are in a tight situation we can not have the opportunity to gamble (even though we are doing it for fun purpose). Moreover, wmas we grow older everyday we might keep our focus on other important things that would benefit us more instead of gambling.

Personally, I believe that as we age also responsibilities naturally increase up more with family, kids and thinking more about the future, making it harder to find the time or justification to gamble as often as you were young and had plenty of free time. Moreover, Priorities like financial security and planning for the future prioritize that over an activity where you spend money with much risk. For me, I have already decided to keep gambling responsibly by only using extra income from side jobs, and I think that balance has kept the enjoyment alive for responsible gamblers.
In my own opinion, even as I grow older, I would still like to keep enjoying gambling, as long as it’s done in the right way and remains fun. However, until then everything is possible and decisions might change for me.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?

They realized that they are not having fun anymore and had found another means of entertaining themselves.  It is also possible that they realized that they can't take the risk anymore.  Like they got a bigger responsibilities and find it that it is not worth risking the money to have a chance of multiplying it.  It is also possible that it has something to do with health related issue.

In my opinion, age is not a benchmark for gamblers, as long as they are physically able to do it, they will continue to play. What forces a person to stop gambling is boredom and bankruptcy. In my opinion, these two things are what make many people stop gambling.

Isn't boredom one of the factor why people gamble? I agree that bankroll issue might made them stop gambling but boredom will only make them gamble more to have a feeling of excitement and thrill.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?
You are on point and yes, financial considerations might be one of the reasons why people may not gamble anymore when they are old but there are many more reasons.

I've said many times on this forum that I didn't see myself still gambling at the age of 65, mine is certainly not for financial reasons as I've been able to manage my life from gambling successfully. Mine is based on personal decisions that are binding no matter what, I just want to live a life that is simple and void of gambling and worries at that age.

Also, I've seen instances where people stopped gambling at that age on health grounds. I will never recommend gambling to an ageing hypertensive person. Others may also stop gambling due to their grandchildren being around them, it is a good sacrifice because no matter how smart an old man may think he is keeping secrets, the younger generation may be smarter.

It happened to my grandfather but I don't expect everyone to be the same.

You are saying absolutely nothing different from what I have said. I specifically made it clear that everyone is not the same and I don't expect everyone to be same. I am not surprised if your old pal gambled till he died, everyone can not be the same.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?
Naturally a gambler can stop gambling because they feels like stopping and could see it as youthful play. I can remember those days while with my grandma, I will jump up 10x and asked her to follow and jumped she will say my son that is a baby play that she can't jump again I will just smile and let her be. So in essence, one must not quite gambling due to much activity but can quite gambling because they felt is Longer suitable for their health especially when they are of age it may cause a high blood pressure for them where if they lose they may slump and give up.
What interests will an old woman have with jumping, mate you most be very funny to think that your grandma will fine your jumping interesting when she have other important thing to focus and think about plus the back pains that comes with old age, so for that you may have to do all your jumping alone, samething applies to gambling, there is a certain age you get that you will lose the enjoyment for gambling or playing any gambling game's at all, this is a stage that other things of higher interest would have occupied your mind by that time, so gambling won't be among such things that get your attention any more.

But we have some addicted gambler's won't quite for whatever reasons, and as a matter of fact will be ready to gamble down to his grave 🪦, is addictions and at the same time a hubby for such a person.
Can we be specific about the age bracket??
With this we can know people who would still gamble till they are entirely down. But sincerely, age is limitations of lot of things and anyone who is entirely down I mean very old doesn't think about gambling rather thinks about life. You know old people only pray for long life and the prosperity of the children and grandchildren, if you keep saying that some addicted gambler don't care then you have think about aging disease. What i meant about aging disease is that there are people naturally got blind from age 90-120, while people with some of diseases such as heart disease, back pain, knees pain or difficulty to chew choose something and swallow it, it could be lack of digestion. So tell who would think about gambling after having all these things surrounding them at old age.

As you grow up, responsibilities increase, you marry, have kids, have less free time, and then the family requests you to spend most of your time with them instead of gambling alone. Also, as we grow up, I think that we are getting more depressed and sometimes this depression reaches to a point where we don't even have a motivation to gamble. When you work tough jobs, you sometimes lose motivation in life because every day you wake up to do what you don't love to do and this process sometimes affects people so negatively that they lose joy from activities that are supposed to give them joy.
