You are right. There is no age limit for a gambler, as long as you are above the age of 18 you can gamble till the rest of your days. Actually the only way that casinos could know an under age gambler is during their KYC verifications, immediately the age of the person is discovered his or her account will be blocked (for a reasonable purpose). However, I believe we all know the reason why only the mature people are allowed to gambe, because the casino probably believed that when you are mature you can gamble responsibly. Outside winning, the other important thing we need to keep in mind as a gambler is to visit the responsible gambling menu immediately we noticed that we are over gambling.

But you said there's no age limit for gamblers and you came up with a conflicting message that indicates above age 18. That's already a limit in itself. I don't want us to misconcept this. I think there's age limit to gambling for anyone who cares about their mental health and wellness. Most of the time, gambling in itself is brain draining considering the amount of risks that comes with it. So you won't ordinarily allow an underage to participate in gambling likewise someone who's in their late 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s. It won't be good for their mental health at all.

A young person and an old person do not have the same ability to withstand stress. Of course gambling puts a person under a lot of stress. A young person can handle that stress very easily, but an old person's capacity to bear that stress decreases. As you age, stress can cause heart attacks or other types of traumatic accidents, enough to cause death.

Even as a person grows older, his mentality changes and he becomes responsible. It is difficult for a responsible person to engage in risky activities like gambling. Because when you have family responsibilities you will not agree to spend your money in a place where you are more likely to lose money if you are responsible. Even if he is responsible for his family, finding free time like gambling will be the biggest challenge for him.
I actually think it was the opposite. Older person has more experience, so they know how to handle stress and can only disregard it if in case it comes up but young person are still new to it and they might still struggle on how to overcome it.

Gambling can be stressful if you're doing it the wrong way but it also depends on the attitude of the person who is playing it because there are people that plays for the profit and yet they are still very professional to leave the casino and not complain once they lose. This also doesn't really depend on the age because there are young people who are only calm when gambling and there are adults who aren't, or vice versa.

I think it is easy for a responsible person to engage in gambling and the likes because they are confident anyway that they won't get addicted to it but even the addicts do also have no fear. The only difference is the effects that they feel and that is; addicts will get depressed later on because they did the same mistakes again of losing their money but the responsible individuals are still on their normal state. A responsible person doesn't always mean family-oriented and what if they are still single?

In the meantime, I want to discuss the reality that a gambler can reach the age where he doesn't want to gamble anymore. When we start aging our priorities in life start changing. We get to have more responsibilities in our hands. Remembering the extent to which we gamble when we are youth it is observed that gambling can be more appealing during our youth stage. But it's less when we get older.

The reason why most persons stop gambling while aging is because of financial security which I mentioned earlier about taking responsibilities, being focused on their family, retirement, and other life goals which gambling may not be important at this stage of life.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?
We are all do change no matter what the reason would be or the things that we are involving into.Talking specifically about gambling and getting older then this is something situational because we've seen that there's still those individuals who are really that still deal up with gambling and the worst is that they do really forgot their priorities just because they've been that become addicted and this is really one of the main problem of a certain individual on which they can't be able to think of well on the moment or verge of slight addiction ok becoming severe.

Good for you if you do able to think up sensibly with your gambling habit on which you've been able determine that you do need to stop because you do have priorities on which this is something that not all would really be able to think of but instead they do tolerate out that urge to gamble rather than on minding their priorities.Majority of gambler's do really only think of quitting at the time that they do experience those tough situations that pertains about money or simply talks about over spending. As we do get older then we do really get mature on how we do think and that's why we do make out decisions which we do see that it could really give out that good impact or simply sticking with our priorities in life. Not all does tolerate out that gambling urge but rather they will stick into the things which is right to do. People do mess up their lives just because of wrong decisions that has been made.

However, I believe we all know the reason why only the mature people are allowed to gambe, because the casino probably believed that when you are mature you can gamble responsibly.

That's barely the actual reason behind this rule. Casinos don't allow underaged people to gamble because they are not allowed to and they can face legal consequences if they allow it. Otherwise, I doubt if a casino would turn down a person aged 17 having millions of dollars willing to gamble with them because what casinos care about as a business is profit, and they try to make as much profit as possible by staying within the legal boundaries, and those boundaries don't let this happen.

If we think that casinos care about us or our money, we are wrong, all they care about is making money, and they wouldn't even care if it was coming from an underaged, a mentally unstable person, or anyone in general, but since certain jurisdictions have laws that don't allow underaged gambling, they are compelled to comply with it.

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?

Two of the reasons that I can think of are health and financial status, when a person gets older he cannot keep up concentrating and he should control their blood pressure, and too much excitement on gambling can shoot their blood pressure and also their eyes and memory betrays them that will contribute to losing a lot of bets.
Another one is financial status when a person retired and only rely on his monthly pension he cannot keep up gambling if he continue to gamble leading to losing his monthly pension he will have to take a loan and that will be a big burden for him and his family, he has no choice but to totally stop or minimize gambling.

There's no such thing, as long as you aren't in the underage category there's absolutely no concern about age.. gambling is not restricted to old age or gender, as long as you are mature enough to take responsible risks then you have nothing to worry about...you can decide to quit at any point due to reasons best known to you.. Gambling isn't something to be relied on so you must find something to do to keep your self distracted from it when you start developing dependency issues... remember to always gamble responsibly..

Well this really applies to those that really want to stop gambling, let's face the reality now sometimes I visit some land based bet shops to place a bet and I find some age men even to my father's age coming to place bet as well and I keep wondering why they do so but just as it is hard to get loose from gambling in the youthful stage, is it at the old stage one would give it all up, so likes of me I think age doesn't play any role in making one minimize his gambling habits, the decision is what matters.

Old age will make you not enjoy the fun in gambling anymore, because you will not derive pleasure in it. The moment you don't have appetite for gambling, you will not see it entertaining anymore. There are a lot of things that will be put aside at old age, because it's not what you want at that time. However, if you are the type that gambling is your hobby, you can continue gambling when you are old since you are still enjoying it and do it for fun, to keep you away from boredom.
I disagree with you, many older addicted gamblers now began gambling from a younger age and i keep the guess why they never stopped gambling. Gambling is said to be fun, especially those who only are interested into sports betting, as long there is still love for the game of football, i think there is nothing to consume their interests from gambling. The only moment that ease the appetite of gambling is that of responsibilities and after several  tragic experiences that got the user really frustrated and decided not to partake any longer but as of getting old and losing interest i doubt such speculation.
Anyone that loves gambling will still continue gambling despite his responsibilities, because he is not gambling with all his salary but with very little amount that he can afford to lose. He can gamble once or twice in a week for fun, so I don't see how responsibility will make a gambler stop gambling that still loves to gamble, or enjoys entertaining himself with gambling. I have seen a lot of people with kids that gambles without you knowing that they gamble and it does not affect them in any way. As you are getting old, if you don't enjoy the fun in gambling, it's better to stop gambling. It is only if you are living from hand to mouth that you will not be able to gamble due to lack of extra funds.

That pretty much sums it up. I would add that most gamblers stop when they start becoming mature at gambling, meaning they have gambled for quite some many years and they have come to the conclusion that gambling can never make them money and can even impact their financial status for the worse. This of course come with the passing of years which the same as aging but wanted to emphasize that as a personal case where I have gambled since 2002 and now in late 2024 I have dramatically down my gambling habits and I am going back to just playing sport betting and poker what I did in the beginning, slots were the ruin of my gambling life.

Two things:

1 - All gambling should be seen as just fun

2 - Being old does not mean that the person has died, even if they are old, they have the right to have fun

So by this I mean that when a person loves gambling and has fun playing and always plays with money that they can afford to lose, then the person can play until they get old and die. There is no problem in doing so. It would even be good if when a person is old, they keep having fun and do not focus on problems, because problems lead people to have heart disease. In my case, if I were old I would continue to play. Unfortunately, I live in a country where casinos are for the rich and I am not rich enough to go to the physical casinos in my country. But if I had a lot of money, I would play in the physical casinos in my country.

While we age we might start losing interest in gambling and we may find interest in other activities and this can be one of the reasons why people quit gambling.
We might also not have the patience, time and money required for gambling and hence we might quit it.
We might also face pressure from our family and relatives which might makes us quit gambling as well.

Maybe there is no more pleasure to be gained from the game.
Honestly, I see old people who have retired from their jobs very routinely gamble every weekend. indeed not all gamblers will do that, but I also see some old people who gamble cards in a place. not like betting in casinos with big money, but they still do their gambling activities even though they are old.
We will never know how a gambler can finally really stop gambling. whether because of economic circumstances or indeed his desire to stop. certainly, it will not be easy for a gambler who has been gambling for a long time and decides to stop because of his age.

Anyone can stop gambling either at a young age or older, it depends on the particular individual and the reasons behind the stop, getting older does not have any influence whether to stop or not, at most old age even increases the appetite to gamble especially if the individual has made a lot of investments that keeps him off jobs and all he does is sit and wait for the steady income, such old gambler will likely enjoy his relaxation by gambling.

Gambling is not limited by age because even old people still like to gamble but i have been witnesses to see a person has decide to stop gambling because of aging and family reason that when he was still young he is heavy gamblers even to satisfied his hobbies to gambling this person does not hesitate to sell what he has just like cars or even house but everything was change when he got married and has a family so this person mainset was change and give his priority to the family besides that he tell to me that he has bored to his gambling activities moreover the family is the main reason why he did to stopped gambling so from this story i think it is very possible to see there is any person who can stopped gambling because of aging and family reason but this experience is not for everyone

What do you think are other reasons why gamblers may choose to stop gambling while they are aging?

Likely people hit an age where they have serious financial goals and can't be sidetracked by gambling losses.  Then you get old and can't do much physical activity and your eyes are too bad to play video games... so you hit a casino and stare at slots all day for entertainment purposes.  Most of those old folks you see gambling on the penny slots don't need the money, they need the excitement.  That's ironically why younger people should be gambling as well, but some wisdom comes with age.
At a young age, everyone wants to have fun in different ways, which is why gambling is chosen as a good form of entertainment. But when they start closely on their financial matters and start performing various important financial responsibilities, they give up gambling while they consider gambling as a waste of money. It is usually past 30 years that a lot of responsibility works in a person due to which they quit gambling at that time even if they have gambled in the past. and started living a normal life

Many reasons can make an aging gambler quit. It can be because of rising responsibility, old recurring aches in the bones or muscles, death of friends they gamble with and of course financial concerns among others.
It could even be due to new religious views and that's enough to quit, after all who needs such heartbreak excitement in an old age when cardiac arrest is prone to occur.

I don't see reason for that choice. At least, I don't see any reason to "force" such decision.
I have seen this on my self... after many years of daily gambling I switched to few games or just few pennies on the game.
For sure, auto limit in gambling are very useful for people with addiction or similar issues. But in most cases of the "normal player" these are just useless instruments.

The answer to the title is no, because in my opinion there is no age limit for gambling activities. In my opinion, most people who stop gambling are bored because they play too often or because of bankruptcy.

Many reasons when we age intend to stop gambling, the reason behind it is indeed a heavy responsibility in addition to no source of income as it used to be when it was still easy so it is true that they are more financially secure when aging.

I don't have that plan yet, maybe next time I'll think about it when the economy is no longer stable, anyway I just want to gamble for fun that can continue to be controlled, such as setting a bankroll to run out or win there is still a limit that's all I think about now.
