Does anyone know how to set failover pools for cast xmr. Changelog just says this ""(set with --reconnects n). To realise a simple failover to another pool set it to a lower value and add a second configuration to batch file""

Do i just add a second line to the start file? any examples would be great.

Theranos Coin - IoT + micro-blood arrays = Moon!
Hello , i think i tired everything... got a biostar tb250 + mobo (8gpu) and installed first 4 vegas. already made the crossfire reg mode, the devcon, pagefile,VM etc etc. when i'm on single vega i can run at 2060h/s when on 2+ pc crashes instantly. i have seen hellae guide on reddit and set clocks at -30% 930 auto -20% . now its stable at 1890 each. got free electricity so i don't care about it. using wattman. anyone has any idea ..?

I gave up on that motherboard yesterday.  Moved to an Asus Z270-A.

Sometimes Cast freezes during card initialization and I have to restart it, would it possible to add a timeout mechanism (a "watchdog" of sorts) so that if something happens then Cast restarts itself or the card initialization?  This could even be optional via the command line.

Have you tried all the GPUs separately? About 15 - 30 Min

I have the same problem. The system was frozen when I used all the GPUs. I realized that there was a problem on my a GPU. I let it out and the problems are over.

Do you guys have same problem? After rebooting often i need to reboot gpus using devcon app couple of times. Often after first or  second hashrate has tendency to drop.

Yeah, with 0.7, it seems to take a couple of tries before it mines at full speed sometimes.

enable and disable the Vega GPUs in the Device Manager in Windows if you need to restart them 'cos of a hashrate drop. (never use the HBCC toggle of AMD Wattman, it's crap)

Also http://vega.miningguides.com/ is great to learn how to disable Crossfire and set virtual memory in Windows, large pagefiles, etc.

Other additional AMAZING tips:

Step 1: Configure BIOS Settings
Before we even get to Windows, make sure your mining computer’s BIOS settings are in order. Power on your computer, and press the “delete” key a few times immediately after power on. You should end up in the BIOS configuration area. Do the following, then save & exit:
Change power options so that the computer automatically turns itself on whenever power is restored. The reason for this is two-fold: first, it’ll make sure that your miner automatically starts up after a power outage. Second, it makes powering the computer on much easier if you don’t happen to have a power switch connected to the motherboard.
Disable all components that you don’t plan to use. This might save a little bit of power, and since your miner will likely be running 24/7, it’ll add up. For me, that meant disabling onboard audio, the USB 3.0 ports, one of the SATA controllers, the Firewire port, and the serial port.
If you’re running a lot of GPUs (4+), additional tweaks might be necessary to ensure that they’re all recognized by the OS. Exact tweaks vary by motherboard, but setting the PCIe speed to Gen1 is usually a good place to start. No need to change anything now, but make a mental note that you may need to come back and play around a bit if all of your GPUs don’t show up in the OS later.

Step 3: Configure automatic login
If you’re building a dedicated mining rig, then you probably want your mining rig to boot up and start mining automatically, without any user intervention. We’ll need to enable auto-login for that to be possible.
Right-click on the Start Menu and select “Run”. Type “netplwiz” (without the quotes) at the prompt, and click “ok”.
Uncheck the box that says “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer”.
Click “Apply”. You’ll be prompted to enter your password to confirm the change.

Step 11: Configure your miner to start automatically
We want our rig to automatically start mining whenever it’s powered on or rebooted. That way, we keep mining losses to a minimum whenever a power outage occurs, and we don’t have to worry about manually starting it back up in other situations.
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder where you created “mine.bat” in the previous step.
Right-click on your mine.bat file, and pick “Copy”.
Now, navigate to %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (should be something like C:\Users\[YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup).
Right-click anywhere on the empty background of the Startup folder and select “Paste shortcut”.
You should see a shortcut to your mine.bat file appear in the startup folder. Windows should automatically execute it upon bootup.

WOOT - got all 6 so far working.  Thanks fellas i had some dumb crap going on.  FYI Pagefile is 45G and it works like a champ on 6.  30-35 it crashed.  6 so far at 12K hash, tomorrow i go for the 7th!

what drivers are you using to get 6 running?

The Aug 23 Blockchain Drivers

I can't for the life of me get my machine to register more than 4... I have 6 570's running on the same model motherboard so I know it can do 6 cards.... grrr!

EDIT:  ignore me... I had 2 faulty risers!

Hi folks,

Any idea why I can't get over 1k kh/s with my V56? I've tried all the stuff mentioned but nothing seems to make any difference.

Can you run 8 vegas + an IGPU in windows?
dunno whether he uses a iGPU or not, but the author of this video is running 8 Vegas in a single system, getting 15.400H/s

Hash is great -1970H/s+- with these OverdriveNTool settings:

[Profile_0]
Name=Vega56
GPU_P0=852;900
GPU_P1=991;900
GPU_P2=1084;900
GPU_P3=1138;900
GPU_P4=1150;900
GPU_P5=1202;900
GPU_P6=1212;905
GPU_P7=1407;950
Mem_P0=167;900
Mem_P1=500;900
Mem_P2=800;900
Mem_P3=950;900
Fan_Min=3000
Fan_Max=4900
Fan_Target=75
Fan_Acoustic=2400
Power_Temp=85
Power_Target=0

Have you ever tried doing a softpowerplaymod with those settings?  Did it work?  Whenever I try settings like that, card refuses to boot, or P states "disappear".
no, I never did, I don't know how to do a softpowerplay mod. I tried but I got a .reg file and it gives me an error when I apply it

Hi, guys,  Cast XMR  max work with 4 Vega's?  Are there limitations ?  Thanks
I think it can work with up to 8 or more,afaik? It also depends on the AMD drivers.

how do i solve the falling hash rate problem? Seems like the hashrate keeps going down after mining for a while.
do you use a iGPU? If so, connect a headless HDMI ghost so your computer thinks there is a monitor connected all the time.

I enabled the iGPU (the integrated GPU of your mobo or Intel processor) in the bios settings as the main graphics device and the Vega never drop a single hash the entire time.

Also, I am not using AMD Wattman (only the Blockchain august drivers) but these settings, in a bat, that launch with Windows -so does Cast XMR- with OverdriveNTool work fine for me (stable 1970H/s+):

congrats! for those who have 6 or more Vega 56 cards...how do you plug them all to the PSU taking into account that every Vega takes up 2 VGA power supply slots? I have 6 Vega 56 but two are just unplugged because my 2 750W PSUs don't have more than 4 VGA 8 pin inputs

The Lepa 1600 has 12 ports, well 6 split to 12 but right at PSU.

The EVGA 1600 has 9 ports (this one is better)

Get those for good results.  Fuck linking little shit together.
thanks for the tip! Gotta decide which one should I get..

what type are your PSU? Use 2 corsair 1000w, or even 2x 850. They come with double 8pin cables and you have enough to run all 6.

it is a EVGA 750W 80Gold.

Talking of which, I am not sure if I should connect a 3rd Vega to the 750W PSU, I am fearful something get fried because mining consumption seems fine at 150W but my fear comes from the fact that I don't want it to peak because of...whatever and things get out of hand for the PSU

Ok, here is the input
if I'm using the cast miner initially I have better hashrate from the very beginning - like 1962 on my vega ( on xmr I have 1942)
but after 5-10 minutes it slowly began to decrease, while using xmr it is stable
will till now I have no solution to this
I have some ideas, will check and report back

I dont know why, if i using this mining software with Amd RX 570 and mine Electroneum at pool always say " Not Connecting to pool / failed connect to pool" using port 5555 3333 and https secure 443 is same problem, but if i change to monero pool at nanopool, this software can connect to pool and give high hashrate for my card
About 800 - 850 H/s per card
Any have same issue with me?
