I just added another Vega 64 to my rigs. It was 1xvega 64 and 2x56. Before i got 1800H/s for ea of vega 56. now i only get 1400H/s average. I did all the trick but i couldn't fix it. any advice? thanks

Can you try running each card in a different instance?

Edit your config file and only run card 0
Then edit it again, and run card 1
then card 2 and then card 3

You should have 4 windows.

I had the same problem with 2 cards, low hash rate when run together.
Then I decided to run one card on ETN and the other on XMR, both now get over 1900 when run by themselves.

Interested to know if it works for anyone else
Hi, i tried 2cards each windows mining XMR with cast. it's still the same card running at lower hashrate (~1400H/s).

Anyone here has solution for this case?

So I don't entirely disagree with you, however, there are some nice little features that I can take advantage. Namely stability and reliability and liquidity.

For nicehash
1. I get paid daily in BTC (very low pool fee now)
2. I can move BTC to coinbase for no fee and move around from there to exchanges (GDAX no fee)
3. I can buy any other coin I want and transfer as needed to whatever exchange
4. Can become a buyer of whatever coin I want usually with more purchasing power than if I had wasted time trying to mine it

So I don't have to connect to some crap pool that does not get enough blocks a day cause it has a low hash speed, has connection problems, worry yet another pool operator scamming me. Instead I can buy whatever coin I want and its easier than ever to move funds around now with much lower fees than ever before.

I am not doing to badly with this method and I have pretty diverse holding of coins.

Please tell me your thoughts. Even though we are way off topic for this thread.

Oh I understand your points of view totally, just tried to add some colour to the "debate"! Wink
It's not as bad as you put it however. There are some good pools out there, not everything outside of NH is crap. But I know for a fact NH is mining crap. It took'em only a few minutes to direct a portion of their hashpower onto new shitcoins like "Rapture" on one of those "crap" pools to try to get more $.

For us it's basically a case of "if you can't fight them, join them."
I'm just not there yet.

Btw the Cryptonight coin you can earn more with is available to mine directly on very large pools. They're not all just shitcoins...

I am pretty sure I know what coin you are talking about and I own a fair chunk of it already. I like to trade it.

Just a quick update, been mining using cast 0.8 for 4 weeks now with no problems whatsoever. I really wanna go on for longer but I might switch to something else since monero mining has slowed down so much. It wouldn't be so bad if I could get more vegas but those cards are hard to get, almost impossible for close to msrp.

NO, but seriously LOL!!!!!  What are you even talking about?? Cryptonight coins are the most profitable coins you can mine bar any card anywhere on this planet. If you have vegas you you have the most profitable mining cards arguably one can buy paired with the fastest miner.

6 1080Ti vs 6 Vega 64s

https://whattomine.com/coins

Compare for yourself.

I don't know why.... just so much dumb posted here all the time.

Well, you may be able to get those Vega at MRSP soon if Cryptonight coins continue to depreciate, but may not be worth buying them though.

They are quite profitable at mining Nicehash with Cast at the moment but by the look of things it may not last very long. more on that later.
Cast is better than Stak on Nicehash because of the -fastjobswitch option. Nicehash difficulty is very high and Stak generate a lot of stale share (does not have fastjobswitch) almost 20% stale shares sometimes, While Cast does hardly make any stale share. At least on my rigs Cast can mine for days with 0 stale shares, while STAK would deliver 20% within an hour.

A part for Nicehash, at the moment Criptonight currencies have well entered the category of shitcoins, even XMR not doing so well.
Sumo....  I mean, below 7/8 dollars is not even worth looking at it. Pools are inefficient and shady, difficulty is quite high, you get a lot less than what your rig is hashing for. Plus SUMO can only be Exchanged at Cryptopia for Bitcoins. The only decent option to change it with was Litecoin is not available anymore, USDT was never an option. In fact, Sumo value is slowly drifting down the drain.
Electroneum, the next Ethereum.... after few months is still only on Cryptopia and sold off badly any times it dares to pop. I know it is supposed to get in 2 more exchanges soon, but let's see if that happens. One of those 2 exchanges is not even open yet...

Ellaism, Karbo, come on...

These privacy Cryptonight coins, may be in trouble for good since governments are asking for transparency and to pay taxes on profits, or they will shut down exchanges and mining pools. When that happens, probably not even hookers and pushers will want to touch a Monero.

Vegas are mostly good for Cryptonight only. Pascal maybe... do you really want to mine that?
For Ethereum you are better off buying 2 RX580 per every Vega you could buy at the same cost: 1 Vega 44 mhs vs 62 mhs of the two RX580, even with the extra 80 watt the 2 of RX 580 needs, they are still ahead.

There is a reason why AMD have not been bothering to push Vega for mining, unless they are going to unlock the driver and make VEGA hash 60mhs per card in Ether.....
Ethereum is more likely to see 2000 USD this year, than any of those Cryptonight are going to be more profitable than they are right now.

The good thing about Vega cards is that they use little energy and it may be worth keeping them for mining Ether, if Nicehash Criptonight will go down in value.
That can well happens.
2 weeks ago it was 30/40% more profitable than mining Ethereum, but today is almost the same.

IMO.

Um ok that is your opinion as a summary answer but let me address your response one line at a time

1. You will not be getting Vegas anytime soon from anyone but people selling them at 1 to 2x proft per card. They mine cryptonight best cause they do and that is the best thing they do with CAST XMR. Mine it while its hot.

http://www.techradar.com/news/amd-in-2017-ryzen-hits-a-blackjack-while-vega-goes-bust

2. I don't care about STAK one tiny bit. I have no idea what your point is there. I don't care about nicehash diff, nicehash is making me more money than any other place. Still around 37 to 34 a day at current prices. It is what it is and there will not be any more Vega cards coming into the market place en mass.

3. I don't understand your point on other pools for cryptonight currencies and I don't care about them right now. If you haven't noticed prices go up and down a lot in crypto, but since you had to mention some coins, here is some news for you about some cryptonight based coins.

4. Privacy coins are not in trouble and that is total speculation on your part, but then again like all crypto is just highly speculative at the moment. When are they going to shutdown exchanges? Do you know something for sure is going to happen? Exchanges would be all coins then, all crypto. Also, looks like things will get much better for cryptonight based coins with this news coming and its starting next month for XMR. Read on...
http://blog.robinhood.com/news/2018/1/24/dont-sleep

5. Yes I love to mine cryptonight with my Vegas and CAST XMR!

6. AMD have made their driver support mining. AMD is not making Vega cards anymore. There is also shortage of cards and chips and memory. AMD is now working on NAVI which is going to support GDDR6.

7. You are not making more mining anything else as I already told you. ETH is a complete waste of time for any Vega owner and is showing about 28 to 24 dollars a day. It pays to use CAST XMR on nicehash at the moment if you want to make the most money which is about 37 to 34 dollars a day at current BTC prices. This is accurate as it is what I am getting from nicehash.
https://whattomine.com/

Looks like you have some reading to do to better understand what is going on at the moment.
There's only one thing that's incorrect in this post of yours, and it's number 7.
If Nicehash is at the top of your profit list, it means you're missing something. Namely the coin they're raping that you would be making 10% more money with if you mined it directly. If you dig a little bit, you'll find it (them) easily.

So I don't entirely disagree with you, however, there are some nice little features that I can take advantage. Namely stability and reliability and liquidity.

For nicehash
1. I get paid daily in BTC (very low pool fee now)

I have an issue with fastjobswitch

When I turn it on, my rigs hang after few hours of mining. Without, they're stable for weeks at a time.
When castxmr hangs, it stops showing anything on screen. There's no "fast job switch" lines in the console and the rig seems frozen. When I close the castxmr windows I get a BSOD and a reboot.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with fastjobswitch only or my extreme settings (not that extreme actually).

These are 8 vega56 rigs.

Any ideas?

fair enough. I have a question.. Then why not using Nicehash directly instead of Cast XMR on Nicehash pools? Just curious...

I do use nicehash directly, I connect to their pools with CAST XMR and mine there. I don't know if CAST is included in their legacy miner or not, but I don't care for that anyway. Is that what you mean?

Read on...

Hi. I am having weird Socket Error on Cast XMR, when trying to run it on Nicehash pool (cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:33355).
No such errors on Claymore or XMR Stak, but I have low or unstable hash rate with these, hence I want to try Cast XMR.
I am only pointing Cast XMR to the server and wallet.
I would appreciate any ideas.

Share the snapshot of the error and your config for clarity.

The simple answer is CAST XMR does not support TLS so don't connect to the TLS secured pools, i.e cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:33355

Use the following:

https://www.nicehash.com/help/which-stratum-servers-are-available

cryptonight.eu.nicehash.com:3355

or

cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com:3355

Isn't Monero fairly popular on the dark net markets given the privacy functions. I'm obviously not part of all that but I did read somewhere that it was one of the preferred crypto choices for obvious reasons

Sure, but so what.

https://www.wired.com/2017/01/monero-drug-dealers-cryptocurrency-choice-fire/

USD has been the most preferred way for drug lords and terrorists regimes to run their empires with as well. Everything leads back to USD in the end anyway.

Monero... the name sounds like it came out of Narcos TV show.

Apparently. That is what they say.
But so is Bitcoin, Ethereum and the USD.

It is funny, because all the Vega love started because of CAST, STAK and Monero.
For me it was a no brainer at that time few months back and I bought a few Vegas.
Things may became very different in the next few weeks.

Bitcoin's money has been slowly siphoning out to Ethereum. There are plenty of good reasons for that happening and smart money they obviously got it.
Although in few months we may not be able to mine Ethereum anymore, because developers will make mining unnecessary.
It may not happens as soon as the Ethereum developers claims, or it may never happens at all, but is a strong possibility.

It has been too easy to pull out money from the AC plug... let's see how long it last.

IMO.

Isn't Monero fairly popular on the dark net markets given the privacy functions. I'm obviously not part of all that but I did read somewhere that it was one of the preferred crypto choices for obvious reasons

The good thing about Vega cards is that they use little energy and it may be worth keeping them for mining Ether, if Nicehash Criptonight will go down in value.
That can well happens.
2 weeks ago it was 30/40% more profitable than mining Ethereum, but today is almost the same.

IMO.

Is there a way to configure payment id and email in the miner, if yes how because i searched the entire web but couldn't find any info on this.
These settings are important for authenticity and configuring min payouts in some of the pools. Eg : Nanopool.

Please advice.

Thanks.

Tells you on their website how to mine with paymentID.
