Well this is their reply to the theft of satoshi's

Older blocks causing it? LMAO I am sure djselery has never turned on his GHS for many months now, its just constant bullshit coming out of their mouths now

I still can't wrap my head around this nonsense. So they either (1) charged the fees incorrectly, need to refund everyone without waiting for users to complain; or (2) charged the fees correctly and the users are whining for no reason. Which is it? Looks like #1 and CEX support is just trying to cover  up.

Dear djselery - as quoted in the reply in your screenshot - we will refund those satoshis to you. Anyone else who noticed something like that on their accounts is welcome to open a ticket - we will investigate and refund if it was our wrongdoing. We are sincerely sorry it happened.

So just outright theft from users who don't notice?

Its not so unexpected either infact its a well known issue ....

"Unexpected glitch" - someone tried to make coffee and plugged in the wrong cord. Well, they could have IF THEY HAD ANY MINERS LOL.

What a pathetic waste of internet CEX has become, or maybe they were always like that but very good at camouflage.

Can you maybe investigate all this proactively? Sounds like if users don't notice you'd just keep the satoshis you collected?

Does this cex.io still working fine? I read a post in the internet saying cex.io was suspended for no clear reason mentioned but the the person did post it specifies some trusted mining site

Hello!
CEX.IO is working as usual. If you are having any issues - please send a request to [email protected]

If its possible - can you send us the link where you found information about CEX.IO being suspended in a private message?
We will make sure nobody is mislead with that post.

Thanks in advance.

Long live Bitcoin.
Has anyone already used CEX.IO WebSocket API? Is it worth mailing to [email protected] to get it?

I have. Said bye-bye to usual API. Faster, better. Just mail to [email protected], they reply pretty fast.

So they stole some bitcoin from you by charging you maintenance fees and still haven't repaid it, even after you have queried it and they gave you some bullshit excuse as to why it happened?  Shocked

Lets say they stole 0.00000512BTC from each of their "Active Traders", the figure they have on their homepage is 459439 Active Traders  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

0.00000512 x 459439 = 2.35232768BTC

Looks like times are hard at CEX having to steal money from its users in such a way... Operating with fractional reserves I take it, wouldn't suprise me if they have to sell new GHS, I mean adding numbers to the database to pay their support staff.

I wouldn't put 1 satoshi on this shitpit they call an exchange if that is the case, They obviously have no liquidity going by their accounts and are not willing to discuss it in public. Their liquidity is made even worse because their amazing unicorn "computer accessory equipment, aimed to reduce the maintenance cost of mining hardware" worth 2,100,000GBP, that cannot possibly be ASIC miners, are inaccessible because these assets are locked down in a warzone

well, in that hypothetical situation my maths are more like

0.00001491 x 459604 = 6.85269564BTC

Purely hypothetical, of course, and that number would be significantly different if true. As i have no idea how many GHS are currently owned nor available.

Well, I would also like to know if the websockets are any good? Whats the difference between websockets and trade API?

@D4RK5T4R @flip21 @suchmoon Have any of you forum trolls tried it?

I'm not a troll, but I inquired.

The main advantage is the push function.

If you are hvaing issues with CEX's 600 API call per 10m limitation - web-sockets push all changes to you.
Thats about it.

Noob thread police?  Grin

Yeah, there's a new Sheriff in town  Grin
JK, I just re-read a couple of pages of this thread and it looks like both of you were molested by CEX and can't get over it.

It's a valid question, get over it. If Bitcoin shoots up to $400 tomorrow how can CEX resume mining if they have 2m worth of equipment stuck in the war zone.

The question is valid, but Darkstar's reply isn't.
Yeah, and go ahead and post whatever you like in the scam accusation section, and leave this thread to help people understand the service and resolve issues. Thanks!

What specific problem do you need to understand and/or resolve at this moment? You seem to be the one posting off topic.

Whereas a question about CEX's ability to restore mining with its assets stuck in a war zone is very much on topic. Thread title says "***CEX.IO Bitcoin Exchange (Official Thread)***", not "Thread to help people understand the service and resolve issues".

Try re-reading part of this thread, to get issues resolved you must send a support ticket via their website

I prefer to keep it all in one place, so I shall continue to post in here, if CEX don't like it they should stop the blantent lies

Thanks for your inquiry. We will resume cloud mining when it will be profitable for our users, that means the block reward should be enough to cover electricity and maintenance expenses.

Well going by your previous statement:

These aforementioned assets are computer accessory equipment, aimed to reduce the maintenance cost of mining hardware. Since cloud mining is suspended, the idea of reducing maintenance is now obsolete.
These assets have no connection to data storage and do not affect the reliability of the service we provide.

Mining will not be profitable until you get those fixed assets back.

Dude, I think CEX's answer is more appropriate than yours.

Why don't we keep the thread about the service the company provides?  I'm sure you'll find another place to post your investigations

This is all about the service the company provides

Maybe you are right though, a more appriopriate part of the forum might be the "Scam Accusations" one for our next topic.. Charging people maintenance fees and only refunding when they complain; all this when they do not have any GHS or their GHS are switched off probably is classified as a scam

So please tell us what extremely expensive  accessory could possibly make the rented hardware more efficient, when it was never in your hands?

@Serpens66

Sorry for a delayed response. I would kindly request you to send us some more details about your actions in a ticket to support. This will help us in investigating the issue in a better way. Tickets can be sent can be sent by writing to [email protected] or by logging in to your account and choose the lifebuoy button on the top right corner of the webpage.

I would like to remind that CEX.IO requires at least 1 Swift transfer in order to initiate further transfers via SEPA.

We will gladly and surely help you to resolve this.

Solved by your support, thank you Smiley
