Someone is sitting in the shade today...
is anyone still holdin on to ghs  in here, if u dont mind can u explain the logic to it.  maybe there is an angle i am not seeing.

It's a leveraged bet on BTC. If BTC rate goes up by 50% these GHS will go up by far more than that. I'm just guessing since I'm not familiar with CEX pricing, but a similar scenario played out at Hashnest.

correct. but this bet will only be profitable if the price gap before the difficulty can adjust accordingly. If it's a gradual increase then difficulty will also increase accordingly, nullifying any gain from the btc/usd gain.

Payment Card Deposits Now Easier

Dear all,

We are happy to announce some great updates at CEX.IO! Now you can buy Bitcoins in a few clicks using your credit or debit card.

Right now:

Verification is not necessary when funding your account with a payment card.
– We allow adding multiple cards to your account.

Your three steps to purchase BTC:
1. add a payment card;
2. deposit USD or EUR;
3. buy Bitcoins.

When making a deposit, you will only need to choose a payment card from the list of your cards, enter the deposit amount, and confirm your payment.

You can try it out now

Yeah the difficulty is funny it seems to go up a little bit then back down a little bit, back up etc. I guess as the price increases / decreases people must be turning their miners to suit.

At this rate, bitcoin mining should become profitable very soon.

It might, but the price just started going down today. Hope it's a temporary decline before the rise.

Difficulty probably has a lot to do with it too. It went down for a bit in February but seems to picking up again I think.

I have some feeling they are planning something. Just an observation. Cex.io have suspended their cloud mining services, and while some companies are making announcements that they are shutting down, Cex are quiet. I think they are working on their exchange. I wonder what it will be like.

They have an exhange. It was fine until the minimums were bumped up.

It looks like a really good platform. I think I will give a try! That's the only way to find out.

I don't think they're paying out for mining at the moment. I'd probably steer clear of it. I think you're flogging a dead horse.

is anyone still holdin on to ghs  in here, if u dont mind can u explain the logic to it.  maybe there is an angle i am not seeing.

I think the price will go more than double once the bitcoin price recovers and steadily gains in price.

Do anyone know at what price will their cloud mining service start operations?

man i feel bad now too if thats what they are thinking. there gonna need btc to sky rocket  since cex is one of the last places to turn back on. difficulty will probaly be to high once cex turns on . high risk  low reward, only in the btc world. oh well, ill go back to watching the gaw show, its almost the season finale.  ill keep a look out for u over there suchmoon. ur one of the more intriging posters. later man.

I'm starting to feel sorry for people with funds still in there. Are people managing to sell any GHS or are people waiting hoping it'll mine again?

it wont be profittable for awhile i guess
and yes people still can trade for ghs so its not that big deal anyway

also something that CEX.IO forgot to mention, once you go negative your hashing stops until your balance (magically) comes back to zero then it starts mining again.. then stops, then starts.. then stops.... you get the idea Smiley

So what you are saying is that if you have GHS and because of CEX fees your balance goes negative they refuse to mine for you until you pay off the debt?
If that is correct I am glad I got out!

Yep!

After the 0.01 change i cleared all of my accounts there. In my eyes one of the worst decisions an exchange can make.

But i wish you good luck non the less Smiley

Same here. It's the most stupid decision I've ever seen

Better to apply 0.01 only for BTC/fiat pairs, and keep the original limits for all altcoin trade pairs

Hope CEX.IO can really listen to our feedbacks or this exchange is done
