After the 0.01 change i cleared all of my accounts there. In my eyes one of the worst decisions an exchange can make.

But i wish you good luck non the less Smiley

also something that CEX.IO forgot to mention, once you go negative your hashing stops until your balance (magically) comes back to zero then it starts mining again.. then stops, then starts.. then stops.... you get the idea Smiley

And what happened whit my Affiliated hashes?  I brought u guys almost 4000 new users from day one you started, now i have no hashes anymore and also no income  Huh  What kind of compensation can you offer us?

Hey Zeta0S,

Since the mining is paused, the referral GHS will not mine as well – otherwise, you would be charged maintenance fee. You can always switch the mining back on manually, but we recommend you calculating the risks if the status is "unprofitable" before you do so. If you would like details regarding your referral GHS, please start a ticket with the Support – they will be able to help you out.

I have literally nothing left there still, besides a few thousand doge that never complete withdraw. Oh well. Most of my BTC got out safe and sound. Mainly I miss the market, because if there is no cloud mining then, obviously one cannot trade.

Not looking so good around CEX lately. Any explanation for these decisions?

Dear all,

We are here to remind you that, while cloud mining has been temporarily suspended by default for everyone, you still have the opportunity to turn it back on.

You can find this option on your Profile page, in the GHash.IO tab.

Right now, the switch is on. This means that you let CEX.IO decide when it’s a good time to start mining again. When the profitability changes (this depends on the Bitcoin price and hashing difficulty), cloud mining will be automatically resumed.

If you prefer to continue mining, despite the risk of negative balance, you can change your GHS cloud mining status manually by turning the switch off.

We also suggest that you enable notifications to stay informed when the profitability changes.

I'd have thought any trade amount was good. If they're taking a % per trade, doesn't matter what the limit.

I guess they're trying to cover the cost of running the website etc.

Just move exchanges.

The new minimum trade amount is not so good. I think it is too high, especially for altcoins. What is the logic behind this decision? I don't see how raising the minimum amount is supposed to benefit in any way. These new minimums, plus no more GHS mining - I'm worried CEX has little going for it now.

Well hello there!
Minimal trade limits to be raised on cex.io on the 5th.  Really poor decision that will push quite a few people away from an already waning exchange.

Changes to trade order limits.
Dear CEX.IO users,
We would like to inform you that starting from this Thursday, February 5th, the minimum trade order size for all pairs will be changed to the equivalent of 0.01 BTC. Such a change was made to make the process more simple and ensure that all users are charged a fair trade fee. At CEX.IO, we continue working on improving our service for you.
Your comments and feedback are warmly welcomed.

I have been trying to withdraw a few doge I had left for days now. Every time I get a confirmation message it returns "service temporarily unavailable"  Roll Eyes

I was lucky, as I stated previously, to have sold off my GH/s a few weeks prior to them stopping cloud mining. Not sure I will resume there when it does start again.

DOGE withdraw

Oops! Sorry!

Long live Bitcoin.
I am sorry if this sounds like a stupid question; but if CEX has pulled out of cloud mining, albeit on a temporary basis, what are those miners doing right now?

  • If they are mining for another company/individual/CEX pool/ponzi in the interim(I jest) then clearly they are not as unprofitable as everyone would suggest
  • If they have simply been shut down then how can people simply flick a "f### it" switch to start mining again
  • If they are sat whirring away just waiting for someone to want to mine they are still costing electricity and cooling costs (except possibly in the UK right now where it is ruddy cold)
  • If every single cloud mining share holder decided to activate their "f### it" button and want to start mining again, would CEX melt down again?

Baring in mind that the three mining share facilities that I moved my CEX proceeds to are still churning out a profit (and I might add the value of the shares is at the moment rising) then what has made CEX so unprofitable?

All the answers to your questions can be found on the previous page in a post by CEX. I guess it rather overwrites all these concerns.

I guess, the miners associated with CEX are still mining as they physically belong to Ghash, an entity under CEX. CEX has just terminated the cloud mining contracts, not the miners. Miners are now mining for CEX/Ghas without maintenance fee as it is now mining for its physical owner.

With bitcoin price back to $300 and difficulty predicted to be dropped by 6%, the mining revenue should just barely go above the maintenance fee soon.

An auto-switch for only mining when profitable is a good idea.

You see? I told you so  Grin

CEX has never had any hardware partners who provided any equipment during operation of this ponzi scheme. Why? Because it is way better to charge excessive maintenance fees for non existing hardware and do fractional mining. Now the difficulty has become not predictable and without any real hashing power it is impossible to continue fractional mining creating GH/s out of thin air.

This just comes in line with my experience with redeeming the hardware...

Once again CEX.io was a ponzi, they had no hardware. hmmmm is it illegal to run ponzi in UK as its the place where the company is registered?
