I feel our topic is being considered someplace, and I'm really confident that our battle days will be over soon, and we will all enjoy a feast, so don't give up, last week's activities were poor. It's past time for us all to put in the same amount of effort as Charles-Tim... My respect

It's a fine job your doing @Igehhh. Not only does it shows those that are actively participating on our Local Board as we have it now but, it aids for personal assessment on an individual base and reveals a state of decline in our participation both on an individual scale and generally. Its become a very discouraging factor when it comes to participation and bonding on the local board with it yet to be pinned officially I must say. Though, I will urge everyone of us to keep putting in effort to meet up with our country men and let's share ideas on how to survive the government and there new ideas towards dragging cryptocurrency to the mould.

A lot of Nigerians are yet to discover this forum but you can tell from the few that are here that, Nigeria is a nation that its citizens are very much on the front line of cryptocurrency in Africa and relatively to other nations in there respective continents.
It was a good innovation to have crafted a local board to bound the citizenry of a nation as it has in many ways aid individual participation, business and sharing of expertise as we learn in the forum and lately, the participation has been massive.

It is a nice job your doing @Igehhh and @Tranthidung to have generated a stat in fields that are of importance to give a summary of Nigerian and individual performance. So, one can see the need to improve and be an active forum contributor. I see Mpamaegbu coming off on most of the stats and with his Ban being appealed, I can only hope for mercy on his part. I continue to encourage Nigerians to be forward in there dealings and participate actively. Keep up the good work people!

I am only looking at merit distribution and it is only parts of activities in that thread. In the merit distribution perspective, some results as follows.
  • Biggest merit earners: Charles-Tim, senders: CryptopreneurBrainboss

This stats still match what I have up there, but there may be some errors due to the fact that mine is 5 days older than yours, and secondly, I excluded non-Nigerian and banned users from my statistics. What else can I say but thank you for your input; you did an excellent job of including some of the processes in your chart that I overlooked.

Very nice one @Igehhh, i must say i am very impressed with the depth of your research. I'm a newbie on the local board  thread, and i must say that i couldn't express my joy to have found a local board where i could express myself better in possibly pidgin and have people that can relate to it.

It has been a challenge keeping up with discussions on the thread because of the reasons mentioned by @CryptopreneurBrainboss about it becoming more congested, but i believe it is a good thing because it soon means that we will be needing a bigger space soon. Hopefully the statistics will continue to increase in favour of our request for a local board.

In the end, I think it's up to the members of Nigerian community whether they eventually get local board; if they keep being very active, it will happen.

I can tell for a fact that we're becoming active everyday, the thread is been filled with different discussion from different members and sometimes it becomes hard to follow up which is why we need this board for easier communication and other benefits as explained above.

The population of Nigerian engaging in quality discussion on the forum is  steadily growing and it's quite noticable without me having to mentioned names. For a fact it'll be hard to keep everyone engage on the thread since other have previously spoken about the discomfort they get from congested conversation currently ongoing into the thread.

From last month report, we had 150+ engagement on the thread through posting, while this isn't much but still you don't blame the members because the room for discussing small as it's difficult to start multiple discussion but I'm sure that won't be the case with the local board as there'll be room for different discussion ongoing at the same time. We'll continue waiting and hoping theymos will come through when he deems fit.

Honestly, I admire you for your support to our noble cause in getting a local board. I've followed you a while, your objective suggestions are extremely helpful to us in this struggle.
Cheers! I do consider local boards an extremely important part of the forum that can help spread the word about bitcoin among those that don't understand English very well. But even if you don't have issues writing/reading English, it can be of the great help nevertheless, especially at the beginning, like Croatian board was for me when I started my bitcointalk journey.

Newcomers' inability to visit the local hangout could be as a result of their lack of knowledge that such a thread exists rather than that they're avoiding it, so I believe. I know the local hangout will get more visibility once a board is approved for it and a lot of Nigerians on the forum will be able to connect with their comrades and compatriots.
True that! I considered my self "power user" my first year on bitcointalk, and it took me I think couple of months before I checked what's going on in "Other Languages" section. You own local board would bring you more visibility and users, no questions about that.

I can't remember the last time the admin approved a request to add a local board and what the terms were.
Looking at @tranthidung History of local boards, the last local board added was Japanese, back in November 2017, so it's been a while. Since last added board is basically dead now, no wonder that forum staff is reluctant to add new board without carefully looking into everything.

In the end, I think it's up to the members of Nigerian community whether they eventually get local board; if they keep being very active, it will happen.

I second that mate, for some newcomers all they need to know is if there is a local board for their country of origin, once the answer is no, they wouldn't bother inquiring if there is a thread (something like a mini-board) for their local discussion, and even if they find out such thread exists, they would obviously prefer to communicate in a local board than just on a single thread, and tbh their sentiments is somewhat understandable. The 'Nigerian- Bitcoin community' is growing massively both on and off the forum and thus I feel this is a genuine request that would be granted with time and persistence.

I can't remember the last time the admin approved a request to add a local board and what the terms were. I honestly support the desire of the OP and Nigerian users to have their own local board. It can help local users who are newbie to get decent information about bitcoin and forum with their interaction with each other. The use of language and delivery done in the Local language may be much better for those who are beginner in this forum. Maybe the admin will consider the request if it is really needed and meet the requirement. Good luck for that.

Nicely done @igehhh! I suggest that you add that post to Request for Nigeria local board as an extra argument. Who knows, it might help.

Thinking of it, one other thing that might be used as an argument for getting local board is maybe a pie chart or something similar to show ranks of currently active members for let's say this year or last 12 months, just to show that it's not some newbies writing there (that have tendencies going afk), but long term high ranking members too. Something like I did here.

Well from my observation it has been users already established on the forum that always visit the board we get less of new comers on the board, which to some extent it isn't encouraging

Nice one Igehhh, thank you for taking it upon yourself to provide the data I deeply appreciate what you have done. For those of us that have been inactive in the Nigerian local board thread we will be more active from henceforth. We all have a common goal and want to see our dream of having a Nigerian local board come to pass. Its been a long one but we won't give up. Nigerians on the forum have become more vocal about our request for a local board and other nationalities are noticing the thread.

Well from my observation it has been users already established on the forum that always visit the board  we get less of new comers on the board, which to some extent it isn't encouraging bit in the other hand it means we're slowly getting to the users in the forum to associate themselves with their mother root. It has been quites challenging as I know many users that are of Nigerian origin but aren't associating themselves with us yet.

Some have written to let me while other just looking at their posting style and some common grammatical errors you can relate with them nevertheless, igehhh, just as Rikafip has suggested please do something urgent about that and keep up the good work, it gives me joy to see we're all doing our very best to win this.

Also hope it won't be too much to ask but I'll also love to see monthly update on the posts counts (most actives) etc. Actually I wasn't surprised I didn't top that chat as I decided to take a chill break and thankfully we have those constantly communicating and making the thread more lively.

You made an excellent point. I realize this will be a lengthy path, but I'm hoping that with all of the numbers and charts, theymos will be persuaded to grant us a local board. I'm collecting data right now, even though I had this in mind before, but I believed graphs would suffice; however, I've now discovered that I was mistaken, and thanks to your advice, I'll build pie charts.
