There is alot fake stuff from china , they clone everything and sell with cheap price.
Cheap but low quality.

China will become one of Good Economic Country in the world , but super power ? No

China has large growth of middle income population layer. This means they have bigger salaries that enables them to buy more expensive products thus making demand for higher quality.

This demand forces product quality to rise to meet demand. Whole process is slowly rolling to higher quality of all products.

Strong middle layer makes country strong. China is growing rapidly with some bumps on the road but evenutaly there will be tipping point when it passes US.

Everything depends on the future actions of US though. Only time will tell, but I am almost certain that we should start learning Chinese Cheesy

yes you right , chinese languange is become important in asia now ,in my country for new recruit in some company they must be fluent in english and chinese.

There goes my chance of a global career. Smiley

... but I am almost certain that we should start learning Chinese Cheesy

For me it's too late, but I seriously consider it for my children.
There is no reason why Chinese could not be the next dominant language around the world.
Well,.. now I think of it, all those characters are not really convenient and easy to learn.

So you must put lots of effort for your children in first years to expand their painting and drawing since Chinese letters are drawings. Smiley

China is already a super power, it controls America through its debt.

its also the worlds biggest real goods economy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_sector_composition

the Chinese outproduce everyone in the world in Agriculture and Industry.
the only thing the Americans and Japanese produce more is bullshit paper pushing Services.
China has no recourse if the US were to decide to not pay it's debt. There is also nothing to stop the US from selectively paying it's debt-holders and only paying non-chinese debt-holders. The net amount that China is borrowing from the US is much less then the net amount that the US is borrowing. Once the US gets it's spending problem under control the fact that China owns a lot of US treasury bonds will mean nothing.

It's all about productivity, chinese know how to be productive.
US will pay for the debt, one way or another.
If you only consume, you don't know how to make your goods anymore.

the US will never get its spending problem undet control because that means not paying welfare and cutting state pension checks, both are political suicide.
if the US defaults on its debt to china then china stops loaning new money.
with 80 billion usd a month in trade defecit that means the US goes hungry.
I think it would be possible for the US to generally reduce welfare to more manageable levels along with reforming entitlements to levels that are more in line with life expectancy levels gradually. I am sure that liberals will have a field day over this however it is something that needs to be done
whoever will try to reduce welfare will get voted out, no politician will ever commit a career suicide to do the right thing, they have their own lives and families to worry about.
welfare is like drugs, you can check in anytime you like, but you can never leave, not without chaos Soviet Union dissolution style.
The US has successfully reformed welafare in the past, most recently in the 90's under Clinton and he was reelected as president.

The reforms are usually in the form of lower benefits in the future to future beneficiaries while current beneficiaries remain unaffected.

its not going to happen, by the time the future beneficiaries time to collect the welfare comes all the reforms will be canceled and even more socialism added.
that's exactly what happened since Clinton, more people are on the government's payroll in one way or another than ever.
labor participation rate is at 40 year low.

Every country that had a great boom since the 1950s also had a bust.

China hasnt had a bust but had had an unprecedented growth unlike anything on earth.

China's reputation for cutting corners is well known.

The bigger they are, the harder the fall.

As a Chinese, I do see my country is becoming more and more powerful. But it's still far behind the US. That's why I still want to do a postdoc in the US.

Its interesting that china have become a superpower.   Maybe "freedom" USA style isnt the most important variable for world domination these days.  The Chinese government seems both protective and controlling of its people.  Im still of the belief in the west go with crypto for trade china wont stand a chance.
