How do I connect the new generation miners on CKpool? I put some miners on HiveOS and then used below details but the pool shows dead on the miner. I know I am the one doing something wrong because other old gen machines are running fine on CK pool.

Apparently I hear that bitmain crapped out the S17(?) in terms of only supporting a tiny coinbase size and they won't work on this pool as a result. I haven't confirmed this myself but it would explain why some miners can connect to the solo pool but not this one. I also hear that there is a custom firmware out there that addresses this.

This is incredible 6%! What are the odds Cheesy

To think certain someone is in the exact opposite situation, way long overdue. Well i guess randomness is randomness, someone's luck means someone's unluck...

Congratulations!

Awesome.  2 blocks in 2 months!

I see we attracted some larger miners here.  I fell to #11 in active miners with my S15 running in low power mode.  But came up to 291 on work tab.

So with every block, as long as I keep mining, I should jump in the active work tab?  And does the payout/herp column reset once paid?

Derp made one hell of a jump too.  Does that happen every time a block is found also?

Thanks!

Thanks man. Makes perfect sense. I get the nicehash part.

What I missed is the line where when a block is found, only 150 miners get paid. If mined for a day or two, disconnect, you will drop in that queue. There should be more people in this pool sadly. Really like the system. But sadly it would take me a year of mining just to get into the top 200. Will have to do some math later to see how fast some of those guys up there will be dropping.

If 1-2 blocks were found a day, this would be a killer system. But at this point they should consider a PPLNS system. More people would join the pool. We need around 20x the people and would be really nice pool. But to think well, they only solved one block this year, and it will take close to 3 block solves for me to see a payout, its not too great at luring me in Smiley

On the other hand, the guys with nice hash are basically soloing with some added help. Happy for them. Hope they get lots of blocks.

Thanks again for the info! Very helpful.

2) Is this PPS or PPLNS? It is labeled as score based pplns, but even after disconnecting from the pool for near 24 hours, come back and still have tons of shares. Or is all the math figured out when a block is found? It would seem that if people can disconnect for 24+ hours and still have active shares, it would drastically reduce the payout for active miners. Especially since the rounds are so long.
It is neither.
Perhaps reading the 1st post where how the pool operates is described would help? Wink

Geez, why even post? You added 0 to this thread. Of course I read that, it the exact same info on the front page of the site.

Its labeled as SPLNS.

Score per last number of shares. Avoid pool hopping. Well, if I can collect shares, disconnect for 24+ hours and still get a payout, I don't see how this stops pool hopping. After not mining for 24+ hours, my derp showed my estimate as around $5 worth of BTC. And before I disconnected from the pool I was at around $8 in BTC based of the derp score. I am sure even days later I would still have some derp.

That sounds really terrible and most likely why people are not joining this pool. If a block was found daily, sure. But extremely long rounds, now you end up having to split the reward with 100's of others that haven't mined in days.

I guess I will check my derp in another 24 hours and see.

But if someone can answer my question - Is this basically how it works? Or is derp re-calculated on block find? I think the code is available so can check myself, but figure easier to simply ask people that have been mining here for a while.

What  you need to understand is the pool has 869 th   forget the ½ ing  forget difficulty adjustments  and  go with 5n  and 869th

869 x  0.00001662 =  0.01444278 btc   then 12.5/0.01444278 = 865  this is 1n  so 5n = 4325 days

so our current real time 5n is 4325 days  disregarding

the ½ ing
the difficulty
the fact that the pool may get more hash power
the fact that the pool may lose more hash power

but right now our 5n is 4325 days.  so shutting off for a day or two or three or four  means

the following

4324/4325 retention of earnings if you power off for a day
4323/4325 retention of earnings if you power off for 2 days
4322/4325 retention of earnings if you power off for 3 days
4321/4325 retention of earnings if you power off for 4 days

Now of course  just to fuck with your head I or anyone else can rent 10ph or 20ph from nicehash point it here for a day and  that 869th hashrate I based all the calculations on will get distorted.

I used the following constants of

869 th
0.00001662 btc a th daily earnings.
12.5 coin reward

to get a 4325 day 5n

Reality is all of those constants can and will change

EDIT:
Ahhhhh, missed this line here -

Interleaved rewards - Each time a block is solved, the top 100 miners will receive a payout while 50 of the remaining smaller miners will receive a payout. Rewards will alternate between the smaller miners according to who has waited the longest for a payout. Rewards accumulate from blocks worked on even if miners are not scheduled for a payout with that block.

Now it makes sense Smiley

The top 100 miners get paid.

The lower 50 get paid too, but depending how low of a hashrate they have, they may need to wait 2 rounds. Back on the pool, lets see where I stand in 24 hours in the rankings,

Hi,

Have a couple of questions.

1) Graphs. Are these only updated while you are looking at the page? I shutdown my desktop last night and this morning when I looked at my stats, the graph was not updated all night. I think this is the case. Checked a few other miners and they had no graph at all. However my hash numbers were all on point, so just seems like a graph issue.

2) Is this PPS or PPLNS? It is labeled as score based pplns, but even after disconnecting from the pool for near 24 hours, come back and still have tons of shares. Especially since the rounds are so long.

Thanks!
Graphs only work from your browser so shutting it down you'll lose the graphs.

This is score based PPLNS but the Last N Shares is 5x current difficulty which at the current pool's hashrate is about 5 years, so the rounds are insanely long thanks to the ultra low hashrate...
