I think the gpu-miner should have a feature to choose chain length for solo-mining. Finding 7ch, 8ch, 9ch is useless. We need only 10ch for solo.

sub 10 chains are byproduct. you need to test for them before testing 10.

readme says -ss 1 and 2 available
-ss 0 disalable for miner v3.0?

what about -t ? any advice to use it? (6 GPU on athlone x2 x250)

Try "-ss 2 -t 8" if your CPU is slow. It's a good idea to test different values and see changes in 4ch/h.

turn on upnp in your router, the wallet should make use of upnp to forward the incoming connections automatically.
If that doesn't work to increase your connection count, you could do manual forwarding but I suspect it may not help much...

@Slimdim, Claymore did say solo and pool similar results

Bah I'm confused with the nodes thing.

Started solo mining, reached 8 connections in an instant. Read the guide, says having 8 connections is bad and I need more. Couple hours of tinkering with my linux router and opening port 9911 for both TCP and UDP => getting 6 connections now. Tried adding some nodes to the primecoin.conf file, doesn't seem to help. Keeping the port closed gets me more connections, any tips?

Here's the peerinfo from debug window: http://tny.cz/ce42f425

I find it strange that from all the peers I'm connected to, none has "IPV4address:9911"

i think we should know the exact port number

edit:what ever i try i couldnt pass 8

you have to forward the port that primecoin wallet uses (when upnp doesnt work)

whats theport number that primecoin wallet uses?

Can i run 2 cards with 1 bat on SOLO?

The miner says GPU Device: 1

I have this in my bat: di 1,2 -ss 0 -t 4 -sd 0 -hc 512

he previously said to run each card on its own bat. so i'm guessing its not supported

 It is very important to have a lot of connections in Primecoin wallet, otherwise you will have many orphaned blocks.
So if you have only 8 active connections, you need to allow incoming connections, check related topics about it.

you guys know how to increase this connection ?

i'm thinking maybe this has to do with adding peers
did some searching and you can do a command called getpeerinfo
it will spit out a file that includes ip addresses

from that you take the ip addresses and format them like this in your config
addnode=210.44.211.16:9911
addnode=206.217.128.2:9911
addnode=144.76.194.77:9911
addnode=66.41.100.146:9911
addnode=66.31.220.87:9911
addnode=190.151.124.146:9911
addnode=81.47.171.163:23539
addnode=213.21.33.13:8805
addnode=46.231.209.170:1644
addnode=15.185.126.29:63565
addnode=91.185.48.133:58444
addnode=192.182.137.8:50346
addnode=101.77.75.7:62136
addnode=203.189.24.21:11635
addnode=173.203.101.6:9911
addnode=31.42.188.194:63898
addnode=88.247.45.201:58138
addnode=201.22.6.178:58306
addnode=220.82.236.221:55290

these are the peers i pulled.
if you have any others that i don't hit me with your list Smiley
