@claymore

I have a rig with 4 GPU's
Intel HD4400
HD 7870 XT
(2)GTX 1060 3GB

Claymore's dual miner ... 7.0

Issues is that only the temps are displayed for the Nvidia cards and not the AMD card?  Is this an issue with the video being plugged into the Intel igpu and not the AMD card or something else?

Log file contains info about the reason.

Didn't check log file but pretty sure that it was the intel igpu that was causing your program to not read the temps from my amd card because after disabling the onboard video and plugging the display directly into the amd card it started reading the amd cards temps after a reboot.  Is there anyway  to force the AMD api to read temps when it is using the Intel opencl platform?

Guys I am trying to set up the following rig:

Asrock H81 pro btc
16 gb ram DDR3
6 x XFX RX480 8gb
6 x PCI 1x 16
SSD external memory
Intel Pentium G3260
1200 w PSU
WIN 10 64 bit

I would like to install the latest version of Claymore's dual miner on it, the problem is that the PC can not even run the 6 GPU's all the same time apparently, without anything installed on it yet, but Windows (I am helping which is setting it up and we are about 2000 miles far from each other, so this doesn't help).

Windows starts normally if only 3 GPUs are connected, but a black screen will come off if we try to connect all the 6 GPU's.

Any idea?

Also which drivers would you recommend for the XFX RX480 8gb? Is the latest crimson driver ok?

Any help would be deeply appreciated, thank you!

Did you power the molex connector on the ASrock mobo?

For multi GPU setup, you need this for extra power going to the GPUs in addition to powered USB risers.

Plus... you also need to set minimum 16GB virtual windows memory.
I don't know why lots of people think you need to power the molex on mobo.  If using the 1x-16x powered USB risers, they are completely unnecessary.  The risers are all powered, there is 0.00000w going through the slots on the motherboard.  The molex on mobo are for if you are using non powered risers.  I have that board, and it will run fine with 6 cards, nothing plugged into mobo.

Bios throws error telling you to plug in the 4-pin molex power on the motherboard.

Hey Claymore, will you support Zcash mining with your software? lots of miners are expecting that coin release.
Zcash will be scrypt-n from what i read.

ZCash will use Equihash as an hashing algorithm, which is an asymmetric memory-hard PoW algorithm based on the generalized birthday problem. It relies on high RAM requirements to bottleneck the generation of proofs and making ASIC development unfeasible, much like Ethereum.

I have two rigs running 6 Sapphire 480 Nitro each with that mobo.

Using powered usb risers, no need to used the mobo molex connectors

Win10 x64 + AMD drivers 16.9.1

Very stable, no problems whatsoever  Grin

I have a few of these boards setup and they can be quite fussy, try adding the 4th GPU into each spare slot in turn.

For example, 1 of the H81s will not work at all, if the x16 slot is used so that rig only gets 5 cards :/

You mean to try the slots one by one? So it could be a mobo problem?
Powered risers would help but definately connect mobo molex connector to the psu to give juice to the pcie slots.  If using windows all should be good.  I had problems with Linux on that mobo.

Quite some people are talking about lowering pci-e gen in BIOS from 3 to 2 or even 1 in order to get more than 3/4 GPUs running. Maybe that's the issue? (Note: I don't use the BTC Pro boards and I don't have that kind of issue with any of my (countless) rigs, so it could be something completely different...)

Good luck!

Edit: ...and 8/4/4 for the x16 slot if this is possible in this board's BIOS...

What I have tried so far is:

- lowering pci to GEN1 in BIOS
- remove any possible interfering software
- visrtual mem. to 16 gb

So far we have been able to make 5 GPUs run at the same time, now we are trying to understand if the last one has a riser problem, or something else.

Which mobo do you suggest for an eventual next rig?

Also which field of the BIOS should I edit with "8/4/4 for the x16 slot"?

Thanks
