Does anyone know is today the day of Byzantium release on ethereum network? I read it should be released on October 9th. It should reduce blocktime from 30s to 14s (but also reduce reward from 5eth to 3eth per block). It would be increase 24% from current state...

23% to be exact.

It will be deployed when block reaches 4,370,000.
I see news about reducing the block time from 30s to 20s, will see. 14s it is better. But if 14s be true, 3gb 1060 may lose relevance before PoS.

For how long you think rx 470 4gb will be able to mine eth?

Not sure how the block time change will affect it but I believe the issue with size is actually down to the DAG size. From that the approximation is below

The 3GB limit will be hit around mid-April 2018
The 4GB limit will be hit around mid-September 2019

Correction - 3gb cards will be useless by November 2018, not April as per this reddit post.

4GB cards, probably Nov 2019 or later.

Do we need miner update for Byzantium?

Not that I know of - if you're mining with a pool.
Solo miners must update their software.

Werent there stories that 4gb cards will not be able to mine eth after march 2018?

I keep getting driver crashes that don't trigger the the -r flag in claymore using 10.0 and the AMD blockchain drivers.  I am working on figuring out the crashes but in the meantime is there something else I can do in Win 10 to reboot it maybe based on the log file?  I cheap losing 45 minutes for ethermine to notify me a rig is down.  Thanks

480 or 580? 4GB or 8GB? I have a 6x RX 480 (8GB) rig and they hashes ~29.1 up to 29.6, ~176MH/s.

we are talking about Asus rx 580 dual 8gb OC with samsung memory.

Oh, okay many thanks for answer. Nice global hashrate Smiley

I love learning all this stuff it’s giving me more knowledge 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👐🏼

It's giving me a headache ! Twiddle this up, tweak that down fiddle with this setting mangle that dangle and if you're lucky the risers won't oveheat and catch fire.

Hey mate,

Since you are reading for such a long time you must have read my post - chain, where (in my final post) I concluded that the blockchain drivers can cause power spikes that cause great instability.

Mr. Claymore said on this:

As I said, I am not happy to see that those problems are getting noticed by more users everyday. For myself, lowering the voltages seems to did the trick but I still experience some freezes now and then (I guess that I didn't lower them enough).
I am hoping that with so many cases around, Mr. Claymore can verify the existence of the problem.
What I would like to hear from Mr. Claymore is if there are any thoughts for a solution and what I would love to hear is an ETA if one exists.

1. I still cannot reproduce this issue, I described what tests I did: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21966972
If you have ste-by-step guide how to reproduce this issue - let me know.
2. I'm not sure if it is possible to fix this issue at all, since all these issues are from buggy ADL.

So there you have it.

Reducing voltage indeed does the trick on system freezes.
I myself had to lower my clocks as well with the voltage, sacrificing some hashrate in order to have stability

Hello everyone. I've been reading this topic for the past few months. Very informative.
I have a problem with blockchain drivers that I couldn't find real solution for.
I've build few rigs and they been working fine with old drivers, but with blockchain driver they are not stable.
Particularly I am trying to fix 2 completely different setups RX 580 (Asus Dual and Sapphire nitro+).
If I lower the voltage even slightly they work but give an error within a day (opencl error).
As I said everything works fine with old drivers (except low hashrate).

Earlier this week, I played with them again to squeeze in few more Mh. These are my settings:
-cclock 1140
-mclock 2075
-cvddc 875
-mvddc 875

They average a total of 177.5 now and cards hashes from 29.5 up to 30.0. But the best thing is they now only pull 1035w dual-mining with DCR.

Hi again! And how did you achieved such a great result??? My cards, but on UberMix3.2 are giving me just 172 on dual mining with dcri 25

I'm using custom straps  Wink

Please share this one Smiley. 0.1 ETH from me in case if I'll get 176 on this settings!

1 of my cards is working like 10/15 min at full and then crashing 0/mhs... How to fix it? The rest are ok.

It could be that this card gets to higher temperature than the others. No much information here, the normal guess would be: reducing its overclock a bit, or if you are using dual mining tune the 2nd coin to lower intensitity , or setting the -ttli setting on the miner.

I changed other pool but seems not working. it still show 0.00M.hs.
here's my log, many thanks

09:42:48:314   4f4   Setting DAG epoch #3 for GPU0

The miner tries to place the DAG file into graphics memory, but never returns a successful result.
You should get such message:
"Setting DAG epoch #3 for GPU0 done
GPU0 DAG creation time - xxxx ms"
Both your logs miss this part and it means DAG cannot be created.
You said your card is AMD Polaris RX. What is your OS and driver version?

My OS is win10 64bit and for AMD driver I use 17.1.1
I have both tried use default GPU clock and OC clock but not working
And also tried update to latest too but also not working so back to 17.1.1
thanks

Do you have pagefile set to atleast 16gb?

thanks, problem solved, I set the pagefile to 16GB not work, but after I set to 32GB it suddenly worked

Hi:

I have a mining rig as follows:

6 NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPUs 6GB each
Windows 10, 1703
Intel Pentium CPU G4400 @ 3300 Ghz, 4GB of RAM
Claymore's miner v10.0 in Ethereum solo mining with DevFee always on

I have a reported hasrate of 121MH/s, an average share rate of about 120 shares per hour, and want to increase the effective hasrate of the mining rig (by increasing the share rate I guess)

1) How can I raise the share rate?
2) I can't switch the NVIDIA cards to P0 power state. Now they are working at P2 state. Also, I think they should be in "COMPUTE ONLY MODE", but neither can I do this. I think that doing this will increase share rate. Does Claymore can do this and / or help me with such power state change and / or "COMPUTE ONLY MODE" change?
3) Increasing main RAM can increase the share rate at all? If so, how much RAM do I have to put on my system in order to have a higher share rate? What if I put 64GB of RAM on my mining rig? Does this change in RAM will "drive" to a 10 times raise in shares per hour in my mining rig?

Best regards, you have the best mining software!!!

1) Overclocking.
2) You can't set p state or set compute only mode with 1000 series cards. You can try: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3130/~/setting-power-management-mode-from-adaptive-to-maximum-performance and https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2700/~/disabling-nvidia-physx-gpu-acceleration
3) No.

Stupid question here
Lets say I got a Reported hashrate of 7 GB why is it that the average hashrate never gets closer to it than maybe 6.2 GB?
What's keeping it to get closer to the other one, what can I do to improve that?

Any ideas?

Hi guys,

I have some new rig 470/480/570/580 (about 10). Some of them are working great and stable, others not.

GPU0 t=77C fan=80%, GPU1 t=76C fan=79%, GPU2 t=81C fan=79%, GPU3 t=69C fan=78%, GPU4 t=69C fan=79%, GPU5 t=78C fan=78%
ETH: 10/10/17-11:10:50 - New job from exp.epool.xyz:3333
ETH - Total Speed: 148.773 Mh/s, Total Shares: 3942, Rejected: 0, Time: 14:26
ETH: GPU0 23.809 Mh/s, GPU1 29.829 Mh/s, GPU2 30.169 Mh/s, GPU3 12.744 Mh/s, GPU4 22.027 Mh/s, GPU5 30.196 Mh/s

As you can see, this is a rig with 6 Rx580 (exactly the same: manufactor, memory type..) with modded bios. GPU 1,2,5 work fine, but GPU 0,3,4 is not, they never reach other's speed (100% gpu usage, the same core/memory clock in GPU-Z) except the begining of mining (when I start the miner, the fist hashrate of them usually great, then drop rapidly after 2 or 3 times showing speed )and I really have no idea about this problems.

This problem also happen with the 470/480/570/580 rig, sometime only 1 low-speed GPU, sometime 3-4 GPUs, with any GPU driver I can get (the original CD driver or the fix dag beta or the newest driver on website), with claymore miner 9.7, 9.7 or 10. These rigs have differrent mainboard, CPU too. Note that all GPU I have tested on my main desktop and got all great hashrate.

After a little bit searching, I found that somebody have similar problem on win10 with very low hashrate (~2-3Mh/s) and solved when install win7, but I dont think it's the root cause so I raise them here to get some discussion (and I dont want to run it on win7 too).

I using win10 64bit, 4GB RAM, ~20GB virtual memory.

Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem when I used one sata cable to power 3 cards, especially during dual-mining. Each sata cable should only power 2 cards even though they have 3 outputs. Also, set your PCIe speed to gen2 or even gen1 helps. I have two rigs each with 6 RX580 cards and they all get ~ 176 Mh/s Ether and 500 Mh/s LBC. Both run on windows 10 with the latest blockchain driver (Aug 23rd).

Hello everybody,

i am reading this topic for several weeks now and gathered a lot of experience here. But actually i am not going further with my vega 56 cards. I found some other users with the same problem but no solution to that problem yet. Maybe you can help.  Cheesy

I try to dualmine ETH and SC but everytime my cards find a share i get an received error on SC saying:

GPU0 t=74C fan=47%
SC: 10/10/17-18:56:59 - SHARE FOUND - (GPU 0)
SC: Received error: {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":4,"error":{"code":-32700,"message":"target-miss"}}
ETH: 10/10/17-18:57:06 - New job from eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999
ETH - Total Speed: 31.952 Mh/s, Total Shares: 1, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:04
ETH: GPU0 31.952 Mh/s

SC - Total Speed: 958.574 Mh/s, Total Shares: 2, Rejected: 0
 SC: GPU0 958.574 Mh/s

Has anyone solved this problem or am i doing something wrong? I got my configs from nanopool and i put the txt files and the bat file in the claymore folder.
