Hi Claymore : is there a new version of your dual miner in the pipe, ready soon ?
The actual one is very good, but we ever hope better ;-).

Good Afternoon

I've been reading this forum for some time but this is my first post and I apologize for being a help request.
I Have 3 rigs running Claymore for some time now but one of them has a strange problem, the miner detects a problem with one GPU, sends message for restarting and after it restarts windows hangs with a new log file with only 8 lines on it.

SO: Windows 10
Cards: 2 RX580 and 6 RX560
Driver: 22.19.662.4
Miner Version: v9.8
Every card modded and patched

args: args: -epool eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal XXXXXXX.MinerXX -epsw x -dcri 45,35,45,45,25,45 -mode 1 -dbg 1 -gser 1 -r 60 -dbg 1 -lidag 0,1,0 -allpools 1 -allcoins 1

Logfile with error:

Code:

17:01:03:550 1f38 ETH: 5 pools are specified
17:01:03:550 1f38 Main Ethereum pool is eu1.ethermine.org:4444

There are no errors on windows logs or anything and every time this happens I have to restart the rig.
In args I specified a restart every 60 minutes and that miner restart works great but the miner restart after GPU failure does not.
Any Ideas?
The GPU that fails is one of the RX580.

Thanks in advance

I have noticed a bug with combo ETH Miner v9.8 + AMD Blockchain Aug23 driver.
If miner looses connection to a pool, after reconnection hashrate significially drops.
Restarting the miner solves this problem.
Hasrate before reconnection to pool is ~156MH (26MH x 6 cards) and hashrate after reconnection is ~67MH (7, 11, 11, 7, 11, 18MH).
There was no such a problem with same miner and older drivers.

Claymore, I can send you the log, if it is neccessary.

I have one GPU that has a high bad shares when i use lidag 1 2 or 3 but when i have it at 0 no bad share. problem is it hangs when it changes coins for  dev fee. It affects profitability too much with lidag since bad share rate and extra time when dag is generated and dev time is extended for the period it is generating the dag. Is there any other solution for this?

1 year back, one of my very new rigs was taking 450 Watts on the wall.

Now I've just checked and it's consuming 600 Watts for the very same hash rate.

Does the efficiency go down this much of the hardware? Roll Eyes
your rig is possibly becoming wiser with time and does something productive for itself on your expense

Dust or PSU, you need to blow it out w/ air

It should not happen: the worst PSU I had, went from 88% efficiency down to 78% in a year and bit.

You are talking about a huge drop: something like a PSU at 90% efficiency going down to 60% efficiency.

Howdy Devs and happy Miners!!

Question:  When the Claymore dual miner restarts (for whatever reason: coin switch etc.) it resets the core voltage value on my MSI R9 290x Gaming 4G to zero.  This is a huge problem because it hits 80C on this setting.  I have to manually go back into Afterburner and reset it to -100 everytime.  This gets the card back down to 70C without affecting my hashrate, so how do I access and change this particular setting within Claymore?  FWIW I also have an R9 390 in this rig but when Claymore resets the core voltage value this card is not negatively affected in the temperature department.

My Rig:
Running Nicehash Legacy
Crimson Blockchain drivers
MSI Afterburner 4.4.0 beta 12

Motherboard: 990fx-ud3
GTX 1070
Rx 580
R9 290x  <---problem card
R9 390

Thanks in advance!!

Any word on an update to the miner to support the new AMD blockchain beta drivers? Can't undervolt with 9.8 miner settings if using new drivers. Come on Claymore. We need you buddy!

What about the temperature on the cards and ambient? Has that increased?

Power consumption is side effect of increased performance. Claymore has optimised the miner significantly since 1 year ago. Thus increased power consumption.

A big yes! Temperature has been extremely high too along with the increase of power. But hash-rate hasn't changed/increased.

Temperature now with 100% fan is around 90, never happened before. Roll Eyes

Quick question on what I'm looking at.

When the miner starts to mine, what does the time on the far right of every update mean?

If it says Time: 00:10 does that mean 10 seconds pass or minutes pass?

Sir, when will you update the Cryptonote miner for MONERO. seems like small scale miners are jumping to mine Monero now.. (im one of those  Grin)

I'm one of those 'small scale miners' and have switched to Monero using 'Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.7 Beta - POOL'.
As far as I can tell it's working just fine, but I would not complain if it could be improved.
