Did you oc the R9? 16.3 work with the rx480, they were recommended by Claymore after release 9.x But for R9 they best are 15.12.
What do you mean by "picking up the rx 480 as a general one"?
Did you DDU the drivers before installing 16.3?

Did anyone tested different drivers for R9 cards? My vanilla unmodded R9 380 mines 20.5MH/s ETH + 330MH/s SIA with latest 17.6.2, but
I'd gladly revert to 15.12 if I'll mine more
Mine does 19.5 ETHC plus 590 DCR  +20 1100 1425 OC

With 15.12 drivers?

I was mining @40mh/s since today with cuda miner 2x980 untill today for 10  days but it dropped to 37 mh/s.Is this because difficulty raised ?

I heard 1060 / 1070 cards were unaffected by hashrate drop.
AMD 4xx/5xx cards also suffer from this. For every DAG Epoch, be ready for hashrate drop.

yes but there is a solution to get back hashrate to normal but with a little up temp and nothing OC  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
and what's the solution?
raise core and voltage Smiley

What is usual consuption from wall for rx 470 sapphire nitro 4g?

I have these readings:

pow (power usage fro wall)

- 30 pow without GPU
- 42 pow with 1 GPU
- 55 pow with 2 GPU
- 159 pow with 1 GPU 100% mining ETH only
- 295 pow with 2 GPU 100% mining ETH only.

So, as i see from wall i have 117w from wall for GPU 1 and 136w for GPU2 with:

GPU1 1105core/2050mem @ 910mv - 910mv with temp of 47 celsius with 60+fan speed with 27.400MH/s.

GPU2 1090core/2040mem @ 900mv - 900mv with temp of 48 celsius with 60+fan speed with 27.700MH/s.

So 295-300w for whole system at wall with 2GPU.

All GPU does not have any error in hwinfo.

Questions:

1. why GPU show 70-75w usage, when on wall device show 117. Almost 40w diference? For GPU2 is even more, about 50w.

2. what is average power consumption for RX 470?

3. GPUs are stabile, system is stabile, is these OC settings good. How to know for sure? For eg. did i set to low volt options?

everything is normal ,

Msi AB is not really the actual consumption.

Your real consumption is on your wattmetre to the wall

Perso a rig of 7 gpu (480) in dual = 1275 a 1300 w

Hi guys,

i need some help.

i have Sapphire nitro RX 580 8GB an a nice Bios mod wich runs on windows 10 brilliant. Unfortunately on Simple mining not so much because i can not adjust the voltage as well as in Windows.

i need to set one of those 2 Settings:

======================= setting 1 =====================

*1120 - Core Clock
*2250 - Memory Clock
*-96 Vol - Voltage at MSIafterburner
*60% - FAN Speed

29.45-30.1 MH/s - Mining ETH
75-76 - Watts per card / GPU-Z and Msiafterburner

========================setting 2====================
*1130 - Core Clock
*2080 - Memory Clock
*-96 Vol - Voltage at MSIafterburner
*70% - FAN Speed

30.1-30.04 MH/s - Mining ETH
75-77 - Watts per card / GPU-Z and Msiafterburner

SETTING THE CLOCKS for memory and core is clear ....... but how to set -96Vol ?

is it possible with
-cvddc    and  -mvddc ??

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE !

REGARDS
DANIEL

-cvddc 960 equals to 0.96V. Is that the number you get on MSI Afterburner? This is for GPU core . If you want to adjust the memory voltage you have to use the -mvddc comand.

i don't know what ment the author of the bios... i didn't try it on windows. I went direct to Simple mining. it is not possible to have -96vol in msi afterburner. you can there set from 1-1000.
in sapphire trixx you can set + or - 96 vol.

i can't alsowrite this guy because this tread is closed i suppose. Also no private messaging Sad

@svdinu  power stage 3 and power stage 4 doesnt work with this bios and those clocks from Author... even if i set the clocks that simple mining propose, if doesn't work. I think that it is because in this bios are also Voltage levels modified and simple mining pay attention only on the bios memory and core clocks - not voltage settings.

Here's my settings for Sapphire RX 580 LE: 1158/2250, Powerstage 3, Temp 75C, Fan 75%. With 4 cards I'm doing 122.37 MH/s ETH and 1957.97 MH/s SC.
I use the bios from http://1stminingrig.com/best-bios-rom-sapphire-nitro-rx-580-8gb-limited-edition-hynix-memory-31-5-mhs/
My cards do not go up to 31.5, but they settle at 30.5 stable for days.
If you don't want to change the bios, try higher powerstages.

Ok so after a couple days of troubleshooting finally got my first rig up.
Im currently running 5 out of my 6 six gpu though.

I have a r9 380 x and a rx 480 I figured they would be compatible as I have run them alone.
However if I both installed with driver 15.12 only the rx 380 works hashes and I get no temp or power reads on either.
Than if I run it with the latest drivers like 17.1 they both work however the r9 380 hashes at 0.
ANy suggestions on a cross compatibility driver?

15.12 doesn't support newer graphic cards. Have you tried 16.3?
About the temp you need to link both GPUs to a monitor... or dumb plug them (learn that myself yesterday xD ). Search amazon for dumb plugs.

Just tried that and now windows is picking up the rx 480 as a general one. Have you used this driver with the 480 before?

I'm having a weird issue. Claymore just waits after it starts and says OpenCL initializing... then it lists the cards and just waits.

I used to be able to fix this by restarting claymore or restarting the computer but it's not helping anymore.. it just waits every time and won't mine.. Any ideas?
I have this situation too, the solution is using integrated claymore nicehash miner, strangely claymore miner works fine when using nicehash miner, try download nicehash miner if its work. its really annoying you can't start claymore but its working fine with claymore nicehash miners.

hey there

I hope you can help me, I'm running EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner with my gtx 1080 ti but I also have a rx 480 on second pci-e slot, that I used for mining ethereum

So I wonder if it is possible to set up ony the rx 480 in claymore miner and force not to use 1080 ti? if that, how?

Thanks in advance
