also, device manager shows 5 gpus, but claymore only finds 4. Any tips on this as well.

any help would be appreciated.
I have the same issue with him! My rig have 6 VGA Giga 3gb, but 1st VGA stoped Sad Have anyone help us Sad(

If you are having a single card first (others may fail afterward but usually starts with the same card), check your riser.  specifically I would replace the cheap USB cable that comes with it along with the power adapter if you are using it.  That's where most of my failures have been from.  The other thing to check is to put a meter at the wall and see what your total draw is and make sure you are not maxing out your power supply.

i have a 850 power supply and each card is using 105-110 watt, so i should have plenty of power. Also, the issue happens with 4 cards installed not even 5. Currently , i have three of the cards on the board and only one using the riser and still get the same message. three cards on the board alone run no problem. I am trying to get 4 stable before i work on the 5th. I do not know why the error keeps coming up. I will try to replace the usb cord and the molex to sata. I also have another riser board on the way from a different and better company(according to the reviews). Any other suggestions are appreciated.

It is not caused by the risers as I had the same issue with NVIDIA 1070 cards plugged in directly. It is not the OC (also happens at stock clocks) but the dcri value pushed over 35-40 that causes it. Tested with version 9.3 and 9.5. It only seems you could push the secondary coin (Sia in my case) much further (and earn more with dual mining than with equihash) as the ethash hash rate doesn't change at all until 40-ish. But then when you push it further, the miner actually fails with the error mentioned above. Not sure whether it is a Claymore bug or driver or something else that causes it. I would really appreciate an input from @Claymore regarding the issue.

From what i understand from your reply, dual mining is causing the issue? So if i just mine ETH (nicehash technically) i should not see the issue? It also seems i can run 3 cards for the most part no issue. The second i stop reboot and plug in that 4th , mining freezes, or i get that error message. Obviously my goal is to get all 5 running, but i will settle for a stable 4 crads for now.

v9.6:

- new GPU sorting method for AMD cards. Now GPUs are sorted by physical bus index (it matches AfterBurner list of GPUs). Also the list of temperatures/fans matches the list of GPUs automatically.
Therefore "-di detect" and "-gmap" options are not necessary and not supported anymore.
WARNING: be careful if you use use separate overclock/temperature settings for every card, due to new sorting method GPUs can get different indexes!
- added "-minspeed" option to restart miner/system if miner cannot reach specified speed.
- now watchdog monitors initialization steps too, e.g. it will restart miner even if miner hangs at GPUs initialization.
- added "-allcoins etc" option for ETC pools that require Username.Worker, in this mode devfee will be mined on some default ETC pools and DAG will not be recreated.
- added current DAG size info when "s" key is pressed.
- added 1 minute average speed for ETH when "s" key is pressed.
- fixed connection timeout issue in Linux version.
- fixed some issues related to remote management via TCP/IP.
- added "-ejobtimeout" and "-djobtimeout" options.
- fixed epoch #0 support.
- a few minor bug fixes and improvements.
- EthMan: fixed issue with lost connection to some rigs.
- EthMan: added password for webserver.
- EthMan: added separate settings for every event.
- EthMan: added "retrigger" option for lost connection event.

Specs
5x Gtx 1060 6gb windforce from Gigabyte
Motherboard: Asus strix h270f
Psu 850w and 8gb of ram

Windows 10 fully updated with lastest drivers.
Tried on windows 7 same result.
Tried recommende drivers by Claymore
Tried older versions of drivers till 369
Tried Claymores versions 9.5 and 9.4 with all cudas versions.
Tried with single card direct to Pcie

Claymore,
do you have any ideas how to overcome Polaris hashrate drop for epoch >129 ?
Genoil said that DAG now took 100% of first memory bank (2gb) and go to second memory bank, so access two banks instead of one leads significant hashrate drop.
Do you make any research in this direction, or it is hopeless? What you think, any comments?

I did not do any research yet, but I will do it very soon.

Dear mister C. Any updates on this one or is it a done Deal?

New version coming soon?

Impatient RX 560 user here (hope that announced RX 460 ASM support
means it will work for RX 560 too)

Check my recent message about it: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/claymore-306958
I ordered another card and will add ASM for it soon, but not in upcoming version which will be available in a few hours.

Worth the version 9.4
Now I checked the farm through Teamviewer, the three cards were disconnected, the coin Decree did not dig.
And the hashed jumps strongly.

Restarted the miner, everything stabilized.
What could it be?

Hello everyone ,

Have you heard the bad news?

http://1stminingrig.com/amd-radeon-rx-400-rx-500-will-be-no-longer-profitable-for-ethereum-mining/

@claymore

Can you do anything to avoid losing hashrate?

In 1 month the hashrate will start to fall ..... sniff

Pretty sure most people don't care about losing 0.5% hash speed every 5 days since we already lost half our profits from last week.

MSI R9 390X
connected directly on pcie 16 slot, undeclocked, overvolted. Only below 1000 MHz (1080 stock) and over +35 mV i get any kind of stability (hour or two)

Keep getting GPU 1 hangs in OpenCL call error.
Windows says "Default Radeon WattMan settings have been restored due to unexpected system failure".

Current drivers 17.1.1, this hapened with 15.12 too.

Furmark QHD + 4x MSAA crashes when reaches around 40% of the test.

Is this card candidate for rma?
Anyone had anything similar happen?

Rest of the rig works fine no matter the driver version.

Need help.

Hi guys, i started to mine with 4 workers but why if my hashrate is 430 the orange line still continue to be in 350 mh? What's the problem?
I have to wait 24 hours?

What don't you understand about the word "average"?

With 3 workers my average was 360... with 4 workers now is 340... how i could understand this?

Does anyone have better performance on old version of AMD drivers than the latest ones? Or is that a thing of the past?

It is very hard to tell. You might get a faster hashrate displayed but less shares submitted to the pool therefor less effective hashrate. Same with older versions of Claymore Miner. I conducted a serious of experiments but gave up at the end as all that downtime is not be compensated. I stick to the latest versions of everything.

Using MSI Afterburner, AMD Wattman, whatever I try, as soon as I apply the new settings they go right back to the previous ones. My -cclock and -mclock parameters in Claymore are having no effect on anything. The weird thing is I have 2 of the exact same card (MSI RX 570 4G) and their settings are different (2000mhz vs 2150mhz memory clock) ... what could have caused this?

How can I regain control over my cards? I have one that is constantly getting incorrect shares so I need to underclock it a bit and I have two or three that could be pushed a little higher.

I've already uninstalled AMD settings so for now it appears Wattman is out of the picture.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you eliminated an effect caused by software settings by using DDU, uninstalling MSI AB and AMD drivers then those settings most likely hard-coded in cards BIOS. Do you have a switch for dual BIOS. Change  the position, restart the rig and check by GPU-Z. You can modify or re-flash the BIOS from one card to another.

Yes, but those two cards are both using stock BIOS! I just don't understand how one runs at 2000Mhz and one at 2150Mhz no matter what I do with Claymore parameters, Wattool, Afterburner, etc... I basically have no control over the clock speeds of my cards... unless GPU-Z is reporting incorrect information of course...

Did you switch to the second BIOS option? Does GPU-Z show incorrect memory frequency in both windows? Download BIOSes from both cards and open in PE to see the differences.

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've built a third mining machine using Windows 10, and currently it has one RX 580 8GB card an an old 7970 3GB card in it. I've installed the latest AMD 17.4.4 drivers, and I copied over my setup from my previous miner including, Claymore miner 9.5 and my batch file from my other miner.

When I run the claymore miner it seems to run OK but I never get the purple line telling me the GPU temperature/fan speed! What am I missing? I don't remember ever having to turn that on before, and I'm using the same batch script I use on my other miner which DOES print out the GPU temperature/fan speed. I copied over the entire folder where I keep the miner and it's config files, and my batch files, etc. so I'm very confused.

Also does anyone know what decred intensity is a good starting point for an RX 580? Thanks!

- Monitor or emulator must be connected to the AMD GPU
- do not use Microsoft Remote Connection app - use Teamviewer or VNC instead
- disabled crossfire

Can someone please please help me i am desperate!

Im mining with a 66 mhash rig on ETC. but i wanted to try the script normally used for this:

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

After using these commands 1 of my cards went from 22 mhash to 4 mhash?!?!

i normally didn't use these command and just run with the single line: EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1-etc.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal . -epsw x

I have Logs which also have timestamps when it was good and when it changed after the Setx..

I notice that the DAG creation time for the wrong card takes 3 times as long as the other cards, other cards do 5000-5300ms and the wrong card now takes 15000-16000ms

PLEASE HELP ME! to get the card back at 22 Mhash, would really appreciate this.

Logs:
https://justpaste.it/189bk
https://justpaste.it/189bm

EDIT: i have 3x RX 470 4GB cards, is there a way to revert these commands?

How did you use those commands? You meant to write them into bat file, to undo that you just delete it or you the previous version of bat file.
Your assumption that hash rate is affected by SETX is probably wrong. You changed something else at the same time. Probably just rebooted the rig.
Are you controlling the rig remotely? Is the monitor connected to one of the RX470 GPUs? If not you need to connect it or use an emulator.

SETX writes it in registry permanently, so to revert you have to go to registry.
Instead ,  SET ...  writes it just for that instance so it can be reverted.

You do not need to go to the registry. Variables can be edited in Control Panel>System>Advanced>Environment Variables>Select>Delete
