Just curious, has anyone tried both AMD and Nvidia in a single rig?

Hi everyone!

i am having some problems with my setup. The issue is that claymore is running fine until i stop it. i then get a gray or white screen and have to reset my pc.
i'm running 6 MSI RX470's on an ASUS Z270-P. The cards have modified vbios with straps 1625 copied up and also they have Micron memory chips (sadly). The cards are running at 1748Mhz memory and 1100Mhz GPU because anything higher than 1750 and the cards become unstable.

Any suggestions, ideas, solutions known?

thanks!
Card that has the monitor plugged in should be with 1650mhz ddr the others can be 1910mhz , this is how I deal with this issue , try it!

Up to 300% + 200 FS deposit bonuses
You people really need to stop worrying about the DAG slow downs. Most of the GPUs mining ETH are AMD RX series. So when the DAG slows down your GPU, it slows it down for everybody.

Nvidia account for a very small percentage of total ETH hashrate. The 290/390 were sold in smaller quantities than RX since they were more expensive and they consume more power so less people use them for mining.

And by the time the DAG is large enough to cause a significant speed reduction like 20MH/s, most likely by then we won't be mining ETH anymore. Either it will be extremely unprofitable, or POS will take over.

try with less aggressive timing like 1750

HI,

i just started trying mining. I found a YT Video and he recommended this:

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool stratum+tcp://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal ETHADRESS/miner1 -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -dpool http://sia-eu1.nanopool.org:9980/miner/header?address=SIAADRESS -dcoin sia -dcri 16 -mport -3333

I Changed the ETH and the SIA Adresses. ETH work but SIA doesnt.
I this right or should i change something?
I use dwarfpool and tryied before instead of SIA with LBRY (with LBRY it has worked).

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool stratum+tcp://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal ETHADRESS/miner1 -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -mport -3333 -dpool stratum+tcp://lbry.suprnova.cc:6256 -dwal NAME.WORKER -dpsw x -dcoin lbc

Today i cut out the  "16 -mport -3333" because in this Guide here there are not.

Hope someone could help me.

In my tries seems there is no difference between 4 gb and 8 gb  rx 470. both have significant hash drop in the future dag epoch

On 280x now 12.5 on 130-12.5 on 150 - 11.66 on 160 -11.12
on 290 there is no difference all is the same
on 470 28.5 - 28.4-23.8-21.5
So go for 290 and 390 if you don`t want a dag problem!

hawaii (290 or 390) will also have DAG problem but later - after epoch 200.
nVidia Pascal doesn't have this problem

Can anybody with a card which is not polaris (so no 460/70/80 no 560/570/580) run those 3 benchmarks?

-benchmark 130

then 140 and 150

I want to see the hashrate drop on non polaris card in the future.

Any ideas on whats causing this and how to fix it?

Are you OCing them? Maybe too much OC on memory?

Got one asus r9 290
GPU temprerature increases up to 90 C and fan speed to 100%
Is that okay or i need something to do?

My bat:

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 80
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 80
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 80

Remote manager reporting lost on my remote rig. It is mining just fine but it stopped communicating with it.  Any idea why?
Known bug since EthMan 3.0,  debug version EthMan 3.2 still have this bug.
Claymore cant reproduce it, so cant fix it.

Do you have this bug for this version? https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19552825
Currently I've got zero feedback for this version. I need someone that can confirm that he can reproduce this bug in this version.
I've wrote feedback on page 601.

The issue remains. Rig have restarted about half an hour ago, but EthMan shows that it stays offline. Choosing "view miner console" opens page with working rig.
I have static local ip on miner, so I think, the problem is not in dns

Ok, then here is new debug version: https://mega.nz/#!H8IgwToD!rJ2gWczg7I7TRewI5V81U7jSxDhaWkOAMpXhfnSAODY
Start it, wait until bug is appeared, confirm that rig can be accessed via "View console" command and send me (via PM) "debug.log" file that is created in EthMan's folder. Please use dropbox, mega or google to store the file if possible.
done, look in PM

I have the same issue with him! My rig have 6 VGA Giga 3gb, but 1st VGA stoped Sad Have anyone help us Sad(

If you are having a single card first (others may fail afterward but usually starts with the same card), check your riser.  specifically I would replace the cheap USB cable that comes with it along with the power adapter if you are using it.  That's where most of my failures have been from.  The other thing to check is to put a meter at the wall and see what your total draw is and make sure you are not maxing out your power supply.

Hi all,

I started mining with Claymore a few days ago and I am seeing an upsetting thing.
My GPU is an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, watercooled, MSI Afterburner reports a RAM frequency of 5000 MHz, which is fine... but when mining with Claymore, the RAM frequency automatically drops to 4500 MHz. If I stop mining and start a game, the frequency goes back to 5000 - the 4500 MHz behavior only appears when mining using Claymore.

I suspect the driver somehow knows I am using Claymore and taxes me for that.
If I boost RAM frequency by +1000, it goes up from 4500 to 5500 MHz and the hash speed goes from 20.5 MH to over 25 MH - 25% boost - but this solution is clumsy, because whenever I stop mining I have to dial back the frequency boost, otherwise as soon as the GPU encounters any regular load, it tries to boost from 5000 to 6000 MHz and the memory can't handle it.

What should I do to keep mining with Claymore, but at correct RAM frequencies?

Anyone?
Is the driver detecting Claymore and forcefully reducing memory speed?
Is there a workaround?

I Got a similar problem with 1 of my RX470 rigs.
Try this and it might work:
Default the GPU via afterburner.
and then restart. Default it again. Remover after burner and any trace of it from your system. Restart. remove the driver via display driver remover in safe mode( run it, and it will recommend and offer reboot to safe mode itself). Install the latest driver. Install Afterburner. And see if the problem goes away.
I did something along these lines and my problem was fixed. I had 6 GPU locking on some ridiculous settings while the 7th being Okay, resulting in system crash minutes in under the Claymore.

The settings go in drivers and even registry some times...

Hey,
Right now I'm running 12 rigs under Claymore miner, and expanding.
8 rigs with 7x RX 470 GPUs.
2 rigs with 6x RX 470.
1 rig with 6x GForce GTX 1070.
1 rig with 4x 1070 and 1 1080 Ti.

I have some Qs.

2 for now:

1) My rigs with 470s just show fan and temp for GPU0. In remote manager it's the same.

2) the GPU hangs in OpenCL call error. For what reasons that may be? So I fix it. I got it a lot under Eth+Dcr. Now on only Eth it's far far better, but I still get it time to time.
@claymore

Thanks
