I was trying to use this. Eth was mining fine on ethermine.org but on multiple Decred pools all shares were rejected. Why are all Decred shares rejected? Should I try another coin for the alternate coin being mined?

My results with R9 280x:
Before using version 8.1
Eth 14.5 / DCR 450

Now using version v9.0
Eth 14.7 / DCR 1100

Go mine ZEC with your 280X. Don't mine ETH anymore.

Or mine UBQ/EXP+DCR.

Can I ask about those cards ASIC quality?
Those numbers are pretty amazing, almost 20% less power usage than me

I have 3 x 11260-01-20G and 2 x 11260-07-20G, only modified straps 1750->2000

only have problem with gpu2 where is monitor, randomly hangs but watchdog brings it back to life... I raised core and voltage a little bit for that GPU and got +10w, now testing will it last...

This is the first rig, when starting and nancy, then one of GPU power down

https://i.imgur.com/Cyp1tkK.jpg

This and rig2, and the same thing happens
https://i.imgur.com/aF2j0dT.jpg

This and rig3, all right, to be noted that the GPU are all the same, with the memory samsung 470 8gb, with strap 1625 to 2000.

risers are all 007 version sata attack

I can not figure out how to fix this

https://i.imgur.com/m8VHvWY.jpg

Same for me, on hynix memory one card consistenly drops hashrate. On the samsung it's stable.

Hello
I know nobody replied to me and I would love to know this one thing if you could please answer me.

Is a share a block found in Claymore? How do you tell the difference between a share and a block if not?

I'm solo mining picking up shares so i'm just wondering if I actually mined any blocks or not.

Answer would be greatly appreciated
share is-SHARE. Pool is finding blocks and calculating your part, using shares.
If you getting shares - you are mining on the pool. So try to find @ pool stats who gets block(s).
If you mine solo - you will find block ( in this life ) if you have 1000+ cards. Maybe.
Try wiki ( mining, pools, shares, blocks )...

This is not accurate. With 30 cards you can find ETH block mining solo in 5 days.
A share is a "tool" used by the pools to measure the contribution of the miners to the block solving effort.

I will use some extracts of the bitcoin wiki to help to explain.

First you need to understand the "difficulty" concept of POW blockchains :
Extract from : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining
Mining a block is difficult because the SHA-256 hash of a block's header must be lower than or equal to the target in order for the block to be accepted by the network. This problem can be simplified for explanation purposes: The hash of a block must start with a certain number of zeros. The probability of calculating a hash that starts with many zeros is very low, therefore many attempts must be made. In order to generate a new hash each round, a nonce is incremented.

As mentionned above, finding a block (ie finding a hash > target difficulty) is quite complicated and can take days for a solo miner.
Therefore, the pool sets a sub-difficulty setting for the shares :
It will count submitted solutions with a difficulty that is lower than the blockchain's actual difficulty. The miners will submit every valid share to the pool.
Then once a block is found by someone on the pool (ie when a share that meets the target difficulty of the blockchain is found), the block reward will be distributed among the miners depending on how many shares they submitted during the round (in case of a Pay per Share model).

Simply put, a share is a lesser solution of the block finding. It's worth nothing but it allows the pool to retribute miners in a fair way for their effort.

You can also read this for more infos :

Claymore can't connect to Nanopool with -esm 1. How did you do that? What is yout .bat settings?

I am running claymore under linux, these are the flags:

-colors 0 -dbg -1 -epool eth-us-east1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal wallet/xx1/[email protected] -epsw x -eworker xx1 -mode 0 -dpool stratum+tcp://dcr-us.coinmine.pl:2222 -dwal xx.xx
-dpsw x -gser 2 -allcoins 1 -wd 0 -esm 0 -allpools 1 -asm 0 -ethi 16 -dcri 34 -di 012345

You are forcing max load limits on your PSU. Consider adding a second PSU.

You want to undervolt to lower the energy consumption. Somewhere between 900mv to 950mv should work well. maybe even 880mv if you're lucky. Make sure you reduce both core and mem voltage to same value too

so after little bit tuning today, I got this

and from wall

GPU2 was hanging on these setup so I only set that card to 950mv , it's stable now (will test overnight)

-dcri 30, if I set it to 35 I get 10mh/s less on ETH and only 300 mhs more on DCR - not worth it and 30W more power consumption

In the end
power consumption lowered by 7% and mhs and power are much more stable now

Can I ask about those cards ASIC quality?

It also hung at switching over to Devfee mining.

Hello

I do not understand what to put in the command line for the DCR?

Do not put wallet address?

Login and pass the pool account?

i use claymore :

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal 0x242a8722fE288FCA7eF03b627D0C78799166C695/PC/[email protected] -dpool dcr.suprnova.cc:2252  -dwal DskqH7NwywxaaYENnQt6kBz28aBzKUUdFjb.PC -dpsw x -allpools 1 -r 1 -dcri 30

command ok ?

DCR share rejected ................ Huh

Did anyone ever reply to you?

On Suprnova you use a username to login to suprnova across all their pools. You need to register on suprnova to get that username.  Once you have that username you use it instead of your wallet address. Your wallet address is kept inside suprnova under your account settings.

so your command line would look something like:
Code:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal 0x242a8722fE288FCA7eF03b627D0C78799166C695/PC/[email protected] -dpool stratum+tcp://dcr.suprnova.cc:2252  -dwal username.workername -dpsw x -allpools 1 -r 1 -dcri 30 -dcoin dcr

As stated I don't think you have to use the -dcoin but it's good practice to use anyway.

After you register on suprnova click on "My Account" in the left hand navigation. Then click on "Edit Account". That's where you'll be able to add your wallet address and configure how often you want payouts.

There is a lot of pages on this forum post about the duel mining. I have been looking through them but didnt notice anything about ETH and ETC duel mining. Is this possible with this miner? If so can someone post the proper way to do this with nvidia cards?

Thank you,

The main reason for fluctuations  for 9.0 vs 8.0 is low Dcri.
For my rx470 if i set dcri less than 23 for example i notice that the power graph provided by afterburner will fluctuate every few seconds , showing that GPU power is reduced for some reason , and it happens like a clock , if i increase dcri the problem disappear .

im in a weird boat

both cards are rx480 8GB ones a sapphire the others an asus. if i set dcri to 25-35 the asus speed dips, if i set dcri to 40-50 the asus runs smooth if hot and the sapphire speeds dip. so i tried setting dcri to 30, 45 in my conf and the sapphire speed still dips  Huh

ive left it at those settings as im getting 41-48mh eth and 2gh dcr

yes, for now  Cheesy  i tried to raise memory more but didn't get better result

i only modified straps 1750-2000, nothing else, very happy with results

Try 1130/2150, maybe you get more, i think 1075 is too low.

no man, i have problem with power consumption, i'm on limit - with last settings (2-3 pages before) I got 980w from my corsair rm1000x and I it was too much.
Already tried, if I raise core clock on all cards to 1080 mhz my power meter read more than 1000w from wall
