Wow what a nice bunch of idiots around here, asking for a pascal dual miner. You will kill the coin before you can make some profit, and the power consumption and heat would kill the cards faster than the ETH dual miner does. Dual miners squeezes the card in such way, that they last 10 months at least. I had to stop using the dual miner functions because the heat screwed 3 of my cards.

No pascal dual miner, it would be great to improve the Cryptonight miner. And if you want to release a pascal miner, do it only to improve the pascal mining process, not for dual mining. Don't kill a promising coin right now.

lol that the dumbest thing i have heard if u killed your cards next time dont run them blazin hot or buy better designed card = better components

Pretty sure he is making stuff up.

Dual mining uses like 40-50 Watts more on a 280X. So it uses 250 Watts instead of 200 Watt solo mining ETH.

Back in Scrypt LiteCoin days, each 280X used 350 Watts and we were all fine.

On the newer RX cards, I think dual mining uses even less power.

I have a miner 6 x SAPPHIRE RX480 RX480 NITRO OC + (default clock is 1342  for the GPU). Miner consumes 975 W (for ZCash) with a speed of 1200 MHz GPU. If I use default clock then consumes 1255 - 1325 W. Add dual mining and sees how much to consumes. I am this is measured with an instrument "energy meter". This is total consumption from the wall with power supply Antec High Current Pro Platinum 1300. One thing is watch consumes energy with GPU software and the other thing is to measure actual consumption from the outlet (or as some say - from the wall). Also, at the same rig, using the SG Miner for Pascal, electricity consumption even in 1575 W. Imagine then the consumption of dual mining ZCash + Pascal. People, take the instrument in his hands, and then you can talk. However, you use modded BIOS, but I do not.

That's right, dual mining requires increased amount of electricity energy and generates tremendous heat. Fans work much faster and reduces their life rapidly.

ASM does not work for R9 Fury with any intensity on 17.1.1 driver. Is this expected?

For the Fury's i would return to 16.3.2 drivers

This is not possible as it does not support RX series and i have a mixed rig.
Still is there anyone that uses different drivers or have mixed rig either?

Bad idea to mix 14nm cards with 28nm cards.

Running 470-s, 290-s and 1070-s in the same rig, no problem at all.  Wink

@claymore

You should make the -li 1 default. It does have a major impact on temperature and I guess power usage with no meaningful decrease on hashrate. In fact Tahiti and Hawaii have no hashrate decrease at all. Ellesmere shows a decrease of 4 or 5 hashes.

For mixed rigs Fury + RX4xx you won't be able to get full speed from Fury because latest good drivers for Fury is 16.3.2 and they don't support Polaris. 16.6.2 and higher support Polaris but they cannot provide full speed for Fury.

Thanx for response Claymore. Will try to use 16.10.1 as suggested by nd see the results
Still it is not clear why ASM option does not work for Fury under 17.1.1 and shows 0 sols?

to be honest i am disappointed the given specs 450sol for Nanos are no way near (between 395-410) i think voor Nano the speed is about the same as 11.1, Optiminer is quicker (atleast for Nanos)

Claymore made The same speed as optiminer.. I think he still can get more speed.
Temps/power is lower but speed is about the same as optimizer. So for those that pay for power, it is a nice improvement. in my case that is

card  : 3    290x

claymore 11.1    320    320   320

claymore  12.0    360    360    180

Why ?
same problem here...but with 7990...

Try to reduce your -i,
I had this problem at first and solve it with reducing -i 8 to -i 7 with Furys.

miner work about 4 hours and stop mining because miner can't connect to DevFee port.
my pool is coinmine.pl and ssl port doesn't work, only stratum port.  Huh Huh

Tahiti cards give me 320-325 H/s

"-powlim 50" option + drivers 15.12 or 16.3.2 is the solution.

yeah but doing powlim 50 makes my VGA 16c hotter.. 61c vs 77c (still going up)
stressing the videocard that much for not even 10% is way to much

Good Work Claymore

Indeed speed is increased
Out of 6 RX 480's I am now getting 1860-1880 H/s
That is 310-315 H/s per GPU

The power consumption though is still High
Measured from the wall i get 1150 Watts

In comparison with Optiminer i get
1840 H/s That is an average of 305-307 H/s per GPU
But measured from the wall i get 940 Watts

So for the people that pay their electricity Opti ( In Linux) is still a better deal

PS. I am about to check Claymore in Linux also to see if i get better consumption

moded cards? what settings oc?

Yes custom rom

-powlim -7
-cclock 1350
-mclock 2000
-cvddc 1110
-mvddc 1000
-i 5

Yeah I did not concentrate on tonga cards.
I can reach 430H/s on stock 390X. Or I can try to add Pascal coin to dual miner, or improve CryptoNight miner. Need to select.
Choose, please, CryptoNight miner  Smiley

Are you guys finding that different makes/speed of ram make any difference to mining rigs ?

msi rx 470 - 250h/s / card on win 10, i used the recommended drivers.
290 only linux ?

Do you use -asm 1 and -i 6 parameters? (these are the defaults if you didn't set them)

I set -asm 1 and -i6 now 266H/s. Can i take it higher?

with setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100

about 270h/s

https://minerstat.xyz/public/coinscrow.html

Win7 +  16.10.1 drivers + Rx470 4Gb (Elpida and Hyix) ~ 295 h/s (no miner options)

16.12.2 driver what i use.

16.3.2 supports Polaris (RX) cards. 15.12 is the older one that doesn't support RX series.

16.3.2 does not support Polaris. See http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Radeon-Software-Crimson-Edition-16-3-2.aspx
16.6.2 is the first driver to support Polaris.

Try 16.10.1  I can vouch they work for me
Use DDU and safe mode to change drivers

Also don't forget to disallow Windows 10 from updating your drivers

16.6.2 is the first driver to support Polaris.

I can't make a test right now but maybe there is a mistake on AMD's site. Anyway.. Claymore use 16.3.2 for testing his miner on RX series. And also he recommends 16.3.2 for RX series (Polaris cards).

I use Crimson 16.7.3 for both RX and R9 series too. So there is no problem if you have a mixed (R9 Fury / RX 4xx) rig.

For mixed rigs Fury + RX4xx you won't be able to get full speed from Fury because latest good drivers for Fury is 16.3.2 and they don't support Polaris. 16.6.2 and higher support Polaris but they cannot provide full speed for Fury.
