Yeah I did not concentrate on tonga cards.
I can reach 430H/s on stock 390X. Or I can try to add Pascal coin to dual miner, or improve CryptoNight miner. Need to select.
This is bad, people have a lot of Tonga cards in hands and wait for speedup for these GPUs

Agreed, I'm hoping Claymore will take care of this and spend some time working on the Tonga chipset. It's really popular and it's been around a long time, a lot of folks run them like you said.

Hey guys, I don't know how to make this V12 work, had no problem with any version before, my rig is 4x 280x with 2x 750W PSU so I got power, win7 x64, 4g ram, 40g swap file. I tried running from -i 6 to all the way to i 1 on 2 cards, (-i 4,4,1,1 now) and still the rig simply crashes, the gpu driver fails and restart. I'm trying for 3days but every day I wake up I see that it restarted, here's the bluescreen log.

There's nothing in the claymore log this time, previously the 3rd and 4th card failed, now I don't know which one, log doesn't say, simply stops.

edit: 15.12 drivers

My 280x rig works only with -i 2 on all cards. Anything more and it crash.

Me too. Have 1 rig with 3x280x, for it works only -i 2. But my mixxed farm with 3x7970,280x,290x are rock stable with different -i. I'm confused.

This is what was happening to me as well. Something about the Atikmdag crashing, which i believe is the driver. So what i did is reinstall fresh driver after wiping old ones. Then run my cards without any kind of OC software running. Since then i am stable.

you used the same driver 15.12? what is your -i setting? gonna try -i 2 now and when i come back home, will reinstall drivers, i'm using DDU to remove previous ones.

I'm currently using AMD 16.9.x drivers and modded bios for Rx 480 nitro 1342 boost clock model. Although others are stating getting 300H/s, I reached 285H/s max with this driver and test mode on Windows.

When I tried to install most recent AMD driver, my GPUs are not being detected. I believe this is due to enforced signatures by Windows.

Can someone tell me if I should disable test mode before installing more recent AMD driver?

Thanks

Use 16.10.1 drivers
With modded vbios i get 315 H/s average
With stock rom i get 305 H/s average

MSI Radeon RX 470 DirectX 12 Radeon RX 470 ARMOR 4G OC 4GB 256-Bit

Is this a decent GPU. $169
Thanks

This is a good GPU.  The MSI RX470 Gaming X does have 1 more gb ram and has more clock with a cost of $199.  I have MSI RX470 Gaming X and really like it and would buy it again.

That one is not a Gaming X, its the ARMOR Series which is slightly lower end. However for ETH and ZEC Mining I don't think it will make a difference. Maybe it varies in games. But in my opinion, I looked at the ARMOR and compared it to the GAMING X and the ARMOR seems like cheap crap build quality wise. Same with that ASUS 470 STRIX. Its good that they have long warranties at least.

yeah agreed, but its significantly cheaper, 3 year warranty.  dont know what kind of mem is inside though, gonna be a surprise.  cheaper version of the gaming X but for me its about 20% less expensive..

Can someone share his hashrate on ETH and ZEC with MSI RX 470 ARMOR 4G OC?

Claymore v.12 in Linux after 12 hours seems pretty stable even with modded Rom

Currently this is the biggest weapon of Claymore vs the Optiminer

In Linux:
Claymore is slightly more power hungry vs Optiminer
Optiminer gives slightly bigger hashing vs Claymore

But

Claymore's stability is a winner since you don't have to be there to reboot because everything is stuck like in Optiminer (stuck to the point that you can't reboot remotely)

If Claymore breaks the 2-day straight without reboot it's the winner for me

Regardless of that Claymore thanks for a great job and that you always deliver and keep promises
This shows character...

There seems to be a fair sample of miners that have stability issues with Optiminer, and I did have some occasional issues with v1.5, but v1.6.1 just runs like a rock for me on 23 rigs. They don't do soft miner restarts or system reboot/reset. They just run, for days on end. I really couldn't be more pleased, although I can't account for why my configuration (Ubuntu) is so stable, when others' are not.

Yeah... I tried 1.6.1 and also 1.6.2 and i always have an issue in 10 hours, or 5 hours or 15 hours (it's random)
I am on ubuntu (14.04) also but i haven't been able to keep it steady for more than 24 hours

That's why i am checking Clay now to see if it gives me the stability i am lacking from Opti...
You are lucky to have Opti stable

Oooh a new miner, a shame though that the older 280x only gets almost if not 300h/s

It should be more since they are power hungry but great bang for buck, we can only dream.

Thank you claymore. I am getting about 550-560 H/s average on 2 unmodded RX 480's.

You should be getting around 600 H/s with unmodded RX 480's
unless you have the 4gb version?

They are two of the release day XFX RX 480's 4GB reference models that have the nerfed samsung 8GB chips. All ive done with them was change the stock BIOS to unlock the 8 GB.
Stock settings on Wattman but i shut it down with the miner running as there seems to be some instability issues when i leave wattman on.
On flypool the hashrate does seem to average more towards 600 then what shows on the miner, which is closer to the 550 range.
Is there something, some tool or .bat setting maybe you are using to squeeze a extra 50 H/s out of them?

Claymore super! My 5 cards give 2% more than Optiminer. Thank you  Grin

Since 2% is equivalent to the devfee (if you mine on an SSL/TLS connection), I'll ask if you've deducted CM's devfee from the hash rate shown in the miner log? CM shows the hash rate *before* his devfee comes out, while Optiminer shows the hash *after* the devfee is deducted. It's not a big deal, and either way is fine, but when you're making comparisons, you need to keep that in mind (and I'm not saying you didn't, just asking).

look at the payments, which the miner is better? I need time Grin

Yes, I agree. It's your effective hash rate on the pool (or solo) that counts - that's what produces the revenue! Smiley

to pay the same for me, that a miner  Claymore or Optiminer Grin

This coin have everything to stay above 100USD, just hold on

Hell, I'd go as far as saying that I really like the sub $50 price. Lower diff, and more mined coins per day. Can't complain. Feels a lot like mining Ethereum when it was hovering under $1

I second that emotion Smiley
