With all this chatter of a successful hardfork and "state clearing"; ETH going POS soon last night*, ZEC stabilizing at the $60s range, XMR went crazy overnight, ZEC (and XMR) mining use LESS power than ETH mining, the answer is clear..... v9 (ZEC) and v10 (XMR) Shocked

Trixx doesn't let you undervolt 295x2 but AB does. You sure you checked all those basic amd settings in AB? But with AB you are stuck on -100mV when you actually want to go much lower. This is where you need some basic hawaii bios modding.

Yep, checked everything in AB. Using 4.3.0 Beta 14. The Core Voltage (mV) setting is locked when the 295 is selected, but unlocked/usable when the 470 is selected. I might try undervolting in the Claymore command line. Or maybe not (free electricity Grin

).

Every algorithm hashes at different rates with different cards.

390s is just better at hashing then the 480.

Speeds are normal. You are comparing Apples to Oranges.

Dwarf might be cheating, I really don't know. But I believe you are misinterpreting the info they provide.

The block listed as "2 minutes ago..." is the one currently being mined. And dwarf very seldom is the pool to actually find the block. Therefore, when you open the page after 20 min, you'll see a similar "4 minutes ago..." for another block currently being mined and probably the previous blocks were found by another pool.

are you working on proper support for the RX 480 cards? currently they get 33% less than the 390s in zcash but only 5% less in ETH/ETC

Anytime when you open http://dwarfpool.com/zec page, you'll see in "Last 50 found blocks" that pool found new block with 1-5 minutes back.

But if you reopen this page after 15-20 mins, you''ll se that no block found at that time.

You can control clocks and voltages with Claymore's miner easy. Recently Zec and Eth similar profit on Polaris, and Zec is a lot better on 7000/200/300/Fury, so switching on 470 makes no sense.

@xeridea is it easier to control wattage through calymore than through wattmon?

Ive found with wattmon if i go below .96 volt or sometimes even 1.0 core voltage on any card with stock core i crash

You can set voltages and clocks on startup (see thread OP for details). I don't do it because I don't change clocks, or switch coins often, but many others do.

How low you can go depends on the card. For finding lowest voltage, it is better to go to wattman, and do a voltage drop based on stock. Stock voltage can vary from 1050-1156mv, so results vary a lot. I have found generally 960-1030 is lowest stable at stock clocks.

After you find lowest voltage for each card via wattman, you can set the voltages on miner startup if you switch coins, for winter/summer, etc. Just make sure to get card indexes in right order (-di option can help), or volt all according to the worst card).

Even when not dual mining, ETH is still considerably higher than ZEC mining.

Anyways, when you factor in depreciation, resale value, age of the cards and future coins / support, I (personally) would choose the 470's.
Also keep in mind, 2gig cards can no longer mine ETH/ETC so their mining power is forced to go into ZEC (and 3gig cards later) so ZEC difficulty will continue to climb and become even more unprofitable.

But you are forgetting a very important parameter, no?

If ZEC price follows upwards then it will continue to be more profitable for as long as it goes up (or difficulty falling) and serves its purpose
That is to keep increasing the production of ZEC's in order to become a tradable currency that is difficult to manipulate

Easily 5 cards. Undervolt with 6.

I feed 4 rx 480 with a corsair 750w ( gpu + risers)

You can count each card around 120 - 140 W

Ok so not that much different or more/less then the cards are rated for anyway, actually a good bit lower then i thought it would be for this miner.

Buy WIN 10 x64 Prof serial on aliexpress (5-10$), install original microsoft image and run without problem many monts ago, activated/updated like original no activators needed and simply upgraded to anniversary edition.

Just FYI, on my Sapphire 470 Nitro 4Gb, I'm hashing at 150-152H/s per card with a hex offset of -162.5mV undervolt. The whole system uses around or less than 400W @ Wall, all 4 cards give me a nice and stable 600H/s. I'm currently hashing with 3 rigs at 1800H/s for 1260W, so that's a ratio of ~0.7W/H

What I noticed, is that past -150mV, you gain very little watts.

Dude, I using Sapphire RX470 4GB (not Nitro) some modded memory timings, and one give me 170-172 H/s other 4x RIGS ~ 690 H/s.

@Ursul0 yep, my electricity cost is quite high (I'm in Switzerland) so I'd rather hash a bit slower but use as little juice as possible. I've got some solar panels coming in though, 20x 300W panels Cheesy

No undervolt, everything stock (volt, clock, memory speed), but maybe try tomorrow...
