I could downvolt eth only to use ~80w stock clocks, GPU-Z (not at wall, but same card so it's relevant).  ZEC uses similar.  If you downclock to say 1000MHz instead of 1260, you get same speed on Eth (zec suffers), but you can lower voltage another 100mv or more, chopping off perhaps another 20w (haven't tested yet).

Sure you can downvolt to that extreme but your hash per watt suffers past certain points.

Anyways, good luck doing that 2 times a day per card if you're using the RX series if you're wanting to mine whatever is the most profitable.

Just FYI, on my Sapphire 470 Nitro 4Gb, I'm hashing at 150-152H/s per card with a hex offset of -162.5mV undervolt. The whole system uses around or less than 400W @ Wall, all 4 cards give me a nice and stable 600H/s. I'm currently hashing with 3 rigs at 1800H/s for 1260W, so that's a ratio of ~0.7W/H

What I noticed, is that past -150mV, you gain very little watts.

Dude, I using Sapphire RX470 4GB (not Nitro) some modded memory timings, and one give me 170-172 H/s other 4x RIGS ~ 690 H/s.

i'm using a Sapphire RX470 4GB OC all stock settings and bios and I'm getting 168-170h/s, coupled with my R9 280 again using all stock settings I'm getting a total of 354h/s using -i 4

I thought this would be the best place to ask.

In the US where is the cheapest place to buy win 10. Is the 64 bit home edition good enough?

TIA

Don't know where the cheapest is, but yes, the basic home edition in 64 bit should be more than enough. I'm still using Windows 7.

Yes, but I doubt you'll achieve that hashrate with a -162.5mv undervolt Wink. You're not mentioning your wattage @ Wall?

@Ursul0 yep, my electricity cost is quite high (I'm in Switzerland) so I'd rather hash a bit slower but use as little juice as possible. I've got some solar panels coming in though, 20x 300W panels Cheesy

Sapphire 470 8GB (1750 strap)
Zec 1260/2000 -i 2 1020mv, 82w GPU-Z Avg, 177H/s
Eth 1075/2000       820mv,   58w GPU-Z Avg 27.5MH/s

You can control clocks and voltages with Claymore's miner easy.  Recently Zec and Eth similar profit on Polaris, and Zec is a lot better on 7000/200/300/Fury, so switching on 470 makes no sense.

why? I'm getting on all of my 470s 165-175 sols running on 900mv - consuming ~108W/card

Why what?

I'm assuming you are using 8Gb cards? Your hashrate is what I get on my RX470 8Gb.

I've gone pretty low in core and memory clock. The least wattage possible is important to me (0.23cts/kw)

why do you choose to get less than you can easily get for the same power ratio.
No all of mine are 470 4gb from three different makers. (ref, nitro, asus)
the lowest is 165 - the card that drives display.

EDIT: ohh just noticed you mention the lowest possible wattage. I see... Smiley

Last version of miner raised temperature to ETH level for 290 cards. Perhaps if new version will increase speed then temperature may become critical for me.
Perhaps this is the problem with cooling.

try Afterburner for fan speeds and heat control for eth miinig this is Zcash mining the heat is much lower and the cards uses less power .

I have not seen this, one of fans on my card did not work, and this was the cause of problem with temperature. Thanks for advice, I use this program. Now everything is fine.

High asic quality 2014 = average asic quality 2015

How do you get to that logic?

Same chip, one more year to get your production line run like it should.

edit: speaking about hawaii

Somehow I doubt it. It's not a car that you can actually change and improve something its the same chip on the same lithography process.

Come on guys...

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform

A)  2 xfx R9 295X2 = ~$900 = ~1000W = 1120 SOLs ZEC;            ~___W = 120MHs ETH

B)  6 RX 470s = ~$1100 = ~880W = 1120 SOLs ZEC;                    ~920W = 164MHs ETH

C)  5 R9 390 = ~$1200 = ~800W = 1250 SOLs ZEC;                     ~___W =____MHs ETH

I think all of details / presumptions are correct.  This would lead me to believe, as it stands, that C would be the most efficient option...correct?

a) would push those to the limits with default cooler & settings ~1100W. 2 x 295x2 = 4 x 290x = 4 x 44cu

b) 100 pages about this but how many at the wall posts?

c) you can do it with 800W but if power saving is your primary target then go with 470s. 5 x 390 = 5 x 40cu.

Can run some quick numbers with c) if you are interested, I have one 3x390 with power meter.

This is a rig with measurements at the wall for both ZEC and ETH using 6 x RX480's (this includes motherboard, ram,hd into the WPC)

Card        Volt/Rom        Miner            GPU MEM   ZEC (h/s)   WATT  HPW  WPC           ETH (h/s)  WATT   HPW   WPC
RX480     -100mv      Claymore v8      1150 2100     1075        720   1.493 120              175          880    0.198   147

That looks about right however with ZEC if you riased the GPU core to 1230-1300 you would get 1200h/s and use about the same power as eth

Based on the power consumption of claymores miner, is it safe to say that a Corsair RM1000i can handle 3 RX 480's on powered risers?
Here is the power use with 2 RX 480's

Easily 5 cards. Undervolt with 6.

I feed 4 rx 480 with a corsair 750w ( gpu + risers)

You can count each card around 120 - 140 W

There is no problem. If you undervolt the cards, you should be able to support 5 to 6 cards without any problem.
