Be really careful miners on your power use, according to my meter i only used around 14k kwh but with the feul cost and fees and taxes etc , my rate of .08 is actually closers to .22 !!!

DESCRIPTION USAGE UNITS RATE CHARGE
 BasicServiceChg $10.00
 EnergyCharge Summer 2021.10 kWh $0.093950 $189.8
 EnergyCharge Winter 12631.90 kWh $0.080400 $1,015.60
 FuelCostCharge 14653 kWh $0.024695 $361.86
AffordabilityChrg $0.74
ResourceAdjustment $90.78
InterimRateAdj $94.21 Subtotal $1,763.07
CityFees 4.50% $79.34
 TransitImprovementTax 0.25% $4.61
 CityTax 0.50% $9.21
CountyTax 0.15% $2.77
 StateTax 6.875% $126.67
Total $1,985.67

If in the US dont look at the rate you are actually paying for electricity check the ENTIRE bill with fees

I did that a while ago.  Only count variable fees like raw meter and taxes that are based on usage and ignore flat rate fees like customer charge or meter reading.  I'm paying about USD.0898/kWh all-in.

Thats very nice for the USA, i plan to move to seatle for work next year hopefully and ill bring my farm with me lol supposedly rates are .05 there .7 all in .22 is just nuts

Yep, guys. That is the time when I do really love the thing that I live in Ukraine, where 1kWh costs about ~$0.03 with all taxes included xD

yeah we choose our energy supplier one or twice a year and go with whoever is lowest. this time our supplier is in texas and we are in massachusetts. the delivery cost per kw is more than the supply cost per kw.

go figure..

66% of my power bill is taxes and transfer fees. This in northern Europe.

Lol everytime a new coin appears we are going to destroy its value in less than a month but atleast it was fun to mine.

Just keep exchanging them to BTC - dont wait that it will be on rally again

v5:

Fury - 170 H/s
280X - 90 H/s

Good work since v1 when Fury and 280X both had about 45 H/s :-)

Amount of hardware or cost of mining has no effect on coins price. Its about how much fresh money is flowing in to buy, no matter how many are there miners.

+1

You need at least one miner though, otherwise blockchain is dead. And one node. But I guess that last miner would go solo so no need for pools Grin

You should bring back the CUDA port. 1/2 of my rigs are nVidia based. Was using your cuda miner for ETH so I know you have the requisite SKILZ. I love your AMD based miner. Once you get the AMD stuff tuned out and cannot squeeze any more out, come back to the nVidia fold and finish loving the rest of the mining world.  Cheesy

Does the difficulty determine the price of the coin? Like if less people were mining for a time would that cause the price to go up again? Or is that wishful thinking?

More the opposite. The more hardware is committed to mining, the more cost base for generation and higher price.

Any power/PSU gurus out there? Trying to solve a (presumably simple) puzzle on my zec mining rig (all hail claymore!): https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/7-x-470s-lowvolt1500-mem-straps-on-one-evga-1300w-1680742

Getting 133+ per each 480, just wanted to say thanks to Claymore for putting so much work into this, I'm sure you get alot of appreciation for the hard work but I just wanted to put mine in as well. I doubt many people would keep the same motivation to continue mining if they weren't getting the incredible speed you're able to give us. So just wanted to say thanks man!  Cool

P.S I'm pretty new to mining myself, I have a couple questions, does it seem like mining zec will remain profitable on a long term? And also, is there a library containing all claymore miners? Like say for monero, litecoin and such? So far I have zec miner and eth+sia if someone could point me to, say a library of all claymore work I would appreciate it.
Everything you seek is contained within this forum.  Just do a search.  For a look back at others who pioneered the first mining software look for ck.kolivas (-ck) and Luke-jr.

0.3.2 seems working fine… :yum:

I understand what you are saying but two days ago the diff was slightly over 200K, now its almost double.

Everyday the block reward only increases by around ~0.288 ZEC. So block reward increases by ~6% while difficulty increases by 100%.

Its an effect of miner optimization, not so much reward yet. We will see hash-rate/price/diff equilibrium is about 2 weeks.
Sorry for all the questions I'm brand new to this whole thing, does that mean we should have a pretty good idea where zec will stand in about 2 weeks?

no degradation
v5.0 is showing ~ 80 H/s for my card (R7 370) but the pool an average of 55-60 during the last 4h or so. The rejection rate is low (< one per thousand shares). Any idea what might cause the diversity displayed? I've not noticed any differences with v4.0.

I guess a 50% boost displayed by the pool is more realistic than 100% displayed within the miner (have had ~ 40 H/s with v4.0)?
