NEXT BLOCK WE ARE MOVING BACK TO PROPORTIONAL PAYOUTS
Well guys after 3 weeks of just horrible luck I decided its in the pools best interest we go back to Proportional payouts. and 0% Fee's. With rising difficulty on Litecoin. More PPS pools starting up at lower fee's the numbers just doesn't add up. The Pool is over 1k in the hole at this current time and there is no real benefit in running a pool at a huge loss.

However, many people like this pool. The new layout. The stability. ETC. With keeping that in mind I decided the only fair thing to do is move back to proportional payouts. As soon as this next block is found I will pay the normal PPS value and then switch to Proportional.

I am sure we will loose a few miners in doing so. I thank everyone that decided to be part of the pool as Pay Per Share. But I feel moving away from Pay Per Share is in in the pools best interest.

What are you mining with? If your seeing "new block detected" a lot this means your shares are below 128 right now. So if your cpu mining it will take a while to get a share. However, your shares are worth a lot more.. it evens out.. lowers bandwith. Basically you get paid twice as much a share then 64.. and 4 times the amount for 32.. This is what VARDIFF is all about.
I have a dedicated machine running 2 7950s. I had some trouble tweaking it so right now it's just running at defaults. The dashboard on the site reports my sharerate around 0.14/s, and hashrate around 1200KH/s.

So, not blazing fast, but not that slow, either. The plan is to expand it to 4-5 GPUs, but I can't justify doing that until I can get the first 2 stable.

It's not that I'm seeing "new block detected" frequently, it's just that every now and then when it sees "new block detected" it will just stop working. The computer and cgminer do not detect any crash or bluscreen or shutdown, all the fans continue running at the same speed, but the cards stop pushing out hot air, and the logs stop recording anything, I can't remote in anymore and the pool reports the worker offline, so I have to manually restart the machine.

I posted in another thread looking for help, and it was suggested it might be a problem with the connection to the pool or something wrong with the "new block detected" message being sent, but I have no way of checking this. I'm somewhat at a loss at the moment, I really don't know what to do to debug this because I have absolutely no message or error to go on....

Frustratingly now, though, I no longer receive the "Idle Worker" notifications, either, which is what the first post was about. Tongue

My idle worker notifications are not working at all. My miner is still getting knocked offline at random by "new block detected" messages (no clue what's causing this), but I'm no longer receiving notifications when it goes offline.

We originally went back to 64 diff but noticed a huge overhead on the database entries. We decided to go back to 128.

The main goal is allow for people to set their own difficulty per each minor. But this is going to be a bit of code change and working with someone back the backend stratum.

I've been having a lot of trouble with CGminer randomly stopping to work when it receives a "Detected new block on stratum..." message. I checked everything I know how to check and posted for help, the only answers I've gotten have to do with the pool possibly being at fault. Is anyone else having this issue, or have any idea what could be causing it? Might it be the maintenance and upgrade(s) process? If so, is there any ETA on a finishing/stopping point?

Maintenance is now over on the server. I reverted a lot of things back to the old way since I was not happy with how stratum was handing out work. Customizing what I want as far as the stratum we are using has seemed to be a better fit for our miners. Also another reason why we have not gone with VARDIFF

Along with our updated config file we also did not have fee's in place. So everyone had 0 fee's for the last couple days. We are now back to 3% fee's.

Elitist Jerks still prides itself on being a VERY easy pool to use. We are focused on up-time, payouts and let you move on with your life. Many of us long term miners have been around for years and the mining novelty has warn off. We want to set our miners and forget them.

I have my account set up for automatic transfers on reaching 1 LTC.

Noticed since your updates on the 16th that the TX fee has increased from .02 LTC per automatic transfer to .10 LTC

Didn't see any mention or notice about that in your updates above. Is this a permanent increase?

Focusing the importance of Offline Wallet I added some new things in the background to keep our Ledger up to date. This provides better scaling to protect your coins in case of security issues.

This does not protect against your account however. Everyone is responsible for their own accounts on the pool

Elitist Jerks just became a little more Elitist

Since I am still evaluating how I would like to address VARDIFF I decided to hold off on our upgrade to the server.

Instead We have changed your mining difficulty to 128.

Where does this leave you as a miner?

Well you will be submitting less shares HOWEVER you will be paid more per share.

This reduces bandwith for pool owner and miners alike. This is one reason why VARDIFF was introduced. Reduction of bandwith.

However this is where our elitist part comes in. CPU miners will be effected as they do not submit many shares as it is. Remember your shares will now have a greater value.

Elitist Jerks still prides itself on being a VERY easy pool to use. We are focused on up-time, payouts and let you move on with your life. Many of us long term miners have been around for years and the mining novelty has warn off. We want to set our miners and forget them.

Thanks to all our miners for being part of Elitist Jerks

The "Hasrate Graphs" page is not actually displaying a graph for me, just a table, and it's clipped on the right side.
I don't know if that problem is client or server side, though.  Lips sealed
This is still there. Any update?

Well due to not liking how the hashrate layout looks I am going to shit can the hashrate link on this template.

However, I will be upgrading the front end very soon which will allow for different template switching. So this way you can use the default template to see hashrate and other graphs correctly.
