Yes indeed, any new features or game could be directly a great game changer in the market imo.

IPO funds were mostly used to avoid bankrupt if a month or two months are really unlucky for the house. Happily since the IPO, SD runs pretty well and pretends to massive earnings. SD is almost sure to never meet a bankrupt. But back in time of the release of the IPO (in august) this bright present was not known.

This is smart as most of the clones are in highly risks of bankrupt without fresh cash or they have to stick with ridiculous small bet limits.

makes perfect sense...

What about developing some other games like Satoshi Poker or Satoshi Betting? E.g. roulette would just be some kind of a visual representation of what the satoshidice game is right now. others are catching up on using bitcoin for gambling sites pretty quickly now. The marktet for that is huge. IPO certainly allows for bigger thinking. I would like to see this thing evolve and stay on top of bitcoin gambling. Any plans in the drawer?

First of all, in my opinion it is perfectly fine that you sell more and more of your shares. There is no dilution. Dividends are not affected by the inrease in supply. I believe most people unfortunatly got used to those mining bond schemes where dividends are coupled to an always increasing mining difficulty. That is, if the issuer doesnt invest in new mining equipment, dividends are bound to go down and so does bond value, because all an investor does expect from those bonds is what? Dividends! There is a big difference with Satoshi Dice. Unlike mining profits, Satoshi Dividends are not bound to go down - even if there wouldn't be future investments into growth of the company. In fact, dividends are more likely to go up, beacause SatoshiDice has a very unique position in bitcoin gambling industry.

Anyway, I still have a question for you: what are your plans for all the IPO money? After all, you do an IPO to grow your company. How do you want to grow? I read that you want to spend 10% on an add campaign in european gambling magazines. That's awesome. Good for satoshidice and for bitcoin. What about the other 90%?

Anybody know if there's news from Erik today regarding the 4th tranche tonight?  The 1 million @ .0062 that was the third tranche is still sitting untouched as an ask order on MPEx with a few bits and bobs priced slightly below.

Wiill tranches 4 & 5 be postponed to give the market time to recover?  Will they go on for the same to pile up waiting for buyers; go on for less to try and get something back for them today for a lower price?

Looks like there's been very little SD trading activity either on MPEx or on the passthrus today.  Maybe everybody's waiting to find out what's happening next?

The 4th and 5th tranches are postponed or removed indefinitely. I won't release the shares if the market isn't interested. The 3rd tranche is there at a good price for anyone interested and I'll just hold off on the others for the time being.
Thanks for the rapid response with your update Erik Smiley

It's just traders taking their tax on Erik's decision to sell below market basically.  If someone dumps shares below market (and there's no reason why value has fallen) then traders are going to snap them up and sell on to actual investors much nearer to market (or, in this case, when the price growth back upwards stalls) - keeping the profit (discount) for themselves.  That's just how things work.

Working market is working market. You're very likely right.

That's my guess anyway - obviously it could just be an investor who needs to sell in a rush.

Seems both improbable and impolitical - if nothing else the fact that withdrawals may take up to 48 hours should prevent the use on MPEx of the sort of capital that one might need on a much shorter notice.

And here I am giving secrets away. Who knew participant selection on MPEx is more than just the entry fee.

If you think S.DICE shares are a good deal, buy some. If not, don't buy them. I would rather people stay skeptical and avoid BTC equity listings entirely than lose their money to overly-speculative ventures and scam operations. It is through this period of trial by fire that we'll find who the virtuous people are, and I'd have it no other way.

This. Very very much this.

evoorhees, it appears that you have set the Satoshi Dice profit spreadsheet to private, barring me access to it. Was this accidental? I found it very useful (as I'm sure many others do).

He gave us yesterday a new link

EskimoBob - I kinda felt like you were just spreading FUD, but I actually think you are legitimately concerned/skeptical, and that is the correct position to take. Everyone in Bitcoinland should be highly skeptical, and very careful. I don't want to fault you for it. You don't know me, and so I could just as easily be a scammer on teh interwebz. Your points are fine.

I'm not sure how to address them, other than to just keep working and building so that's what I'll do.

I will tell you straightforward, that bets on SD are never manipulated in any way to make things look rosy. I'm not sure how to prove that to you, other than to just show you over time that it's true.

I would ask, however, that you try to avoid unsubstantiated claims. If you have a concern, please talk to me about it. I'm very public with who I am and what I do, and am reachable most of the day on Skype (account: evoorhees).

We'll let markets work, and the rest will be shown in time.

Why is there a 1,000,000 share ask at 0.0062 and a 250,000 share ask underneath it? Has the 3rd tranche at 0.0062 been posted yet?

i think someone is selling ahead of this PO.  Tongue

short term isn't looking gr8 for S.DICE... i think i'm going hold off the buy button....

It's most likely someone who bought in one of the first 2 tranches who (correctly) realised this one wouldn't sell out immediately so decided to take profits now.  If someone is trading large-scale on S.DICE and making a better return than S.DICE pays then it absolutely makes sense to do this - as to realise profits at higher price not only would he have to wait for this 1 million to sell but also gamble that noone else would take their profits now AND deal with the likelihood that if this block sells slowly the next two blocks of 1 million won't be priced a lot higher.

EskimoBob, I really would not compare s.dice to Pirate's scheme. Erik Voorhees has already started/been involved with 2 hugely successful bitcoin-based businesses and is a major asset to the community, about as opposite from pirate as you could get.

As far as the game being boring -- gambling involves about $100Billion/yr in PROFIT for casinos... it may be dumb but there are many, many people who will willingly hand their money over just for a chance at winning. Boring does not even matter-- people routinely bet on what hole a ball will land in, or what number they can roll with some dice.

I'll point out that you are the second guy in a hat & mask, who promises to make everyone super rich

evoorhees real world identity is well known

That's what they said about the 1st guy too.  A dozen of his disciples even sat down to eat with him in Vegas.

True.  Just seemed to me that EskimoBob was trying to imply that Erik was hiding his identity. Of course knowing who evoorhees is and being able to do anything about it if something goes wrong with SDice are two different things.

Don't get me wrong, I probably think SDice shares are far more risky than most and that's why I wouldn't buy them at the current price.

Wrong.  Let me give you a 10 BTC hint

Guys in funny hats and masks creep me out.. lol

I want this guy to be a good and honest man. I honestly do.

Here is a video with him and Roger Ver from late last year: http://calvinayre.com/2012/12/21/business/interview-eric-vorhees-roger-ver-ao-video/

He DOES look cooler with the mask Wink (Sorry Eric, I would too)

I'm out for today since someone was nice enough to dump at .0060 on BitFunder AFTER the .0062 announcement last night...
Ditto for (at HavelockSmiley - I converted my remaining asks that had missed the boat to a new one at .62 and was both surprised and delighted it got taken within 10 mins.

OH OH i feel S.DICE could go down because of this 50% supply increase, seems traders are buying it up only to dump it back slightly higher  Undecided
Quite possible.  But unlike Bitcoin itself there is a dividend here and one of the beauties of SD is it is transparent right through from provably fair play right through to being able to tell what the gross profit is at any point and to have a good idea of how much the dividend will be by the time it gets announced and paid.

Of course there are the risks associated with this stock on a number of fronts e.g. going bust on a random 'losing streak'; legal clampdowns due to gambling laws; risks with problems with the exchanges (both primary and pass-thrus) as well conspiracy-type scenarios (not that far fetched considering the history of bitcoin scams) such as EskimoBob suggests above.

However if SD is attracting enough new custom to make up for the decreasing affordability of Bitcoin and the Blockchain.info tickertape keeps screamiing SD then I suspect enough interest will come from those just joining the party looking for something to do with their Bitcoin who will look and be able to make a reasonable judgement of the values of the stock even if the market is flooded with them and if the price is 'temporarily down' and the stock underpriced enough will notice and correct.  The main point of all these additional shares on the market is that is actually the only thing that has changed.  They are now available.  They were already in existence before, just not on the market.  I don't think it's anything to lose sleep over other than maybe for those who had plans to cash out in the near future.  I did enough losing of sleep last night - 3am here in London - to buy my S.Dice stock on Havelock!

Adam, sorry if this sounds patronising.  It is not intended that way.  I'm going through the exercise of reasoning it out myself by thinking it through in the process of writing it down.  I know you know most if not all this already.
