They will have chips in early July, so June delivery is simply impossible. I'm waiting for refunds from KnC. I chosed 5.4TH at 2500W instead of 3TH or 3.3TH at 2100W. I hope you got your home wired ok since you will need around 8000W for those 6TH if you are talking about FrankenJupiters.

roadstress, it'll be more like 3 x 1200W per unit, so it will be more like 7500W total, and since my spot used to be a liquor store, each outlet is on its own circuit (due to commercial coolers, think soda/beer etc), so power and A/C is good. What I don't have is TIME.

maybe the SP10 group buy will work out better.

When the BTC rate is high it's ok to spend the money on pre-orders without thinking and now that BTC rate is down we need to fully stop pre-ordering and just buy in stock items at 3x prices? Personally i don't agree, but if you are ok buying S1s then please go ahead. I'm still waiting for an explanation why didn't you complained about pre-orders in the 2 mentioned threads. KnC always had pre-orders too.
Spoondolies always did pre-orders. But until now they had just a small delay of a couple of weeks from the moment of order and until the moment of shipping. Until now they never shipped from stock.

OT: I've been looking at scrypt lately. From the hash-rate growth I believe that scrypt ASICs are already hashing.
Maybe we'll do that also down the road. Need to deal with the menace on all fronts...

They got something like $5.5m in venture capital, which allowed them to do their R&D and produce a limited run of SP10s which they have now sold out. I believe this next push to 28nm for the SP30s costs about $20m, and they need to raise that money through pre-orders because their VC money doesn't stretch that far. (I'm quoting all figures from memory from posts in their official thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-spondoolies-tech-carrier-grade-data-center-ready-mining-rigs-521520)

No company has produced 28nm without taking pre-orders. It's just a much more expensive process.
