Thanks. I applied new thermal paste today (pics), which didn't really help. I then found that the highest-speed firmware actually /does/ work, whereas a lower one doesn't. Weird stuff. It's hashing at a good rate now though, I suppose I should screw everything back together properly Tongue

I'm sure you already thought of this, but just in case, I thought I might mention a few places to check ...

The power lead from the wall to the plugpack is not uncommon.
e.g. Sony items that I have, with the same lead: PS3, PSP charger, PS2, PSOne, BD Player
I've also got a few external USB HDD enclosures with the same lead (I used this for mine, I'm in Aus)
(and I think even an old VCR I have, has that lead)
Yeah, I found a canon batterypack charger that had it, which I'm using at the moment. Most of the rest of yesterday was bughunting; it seems the thermal paste is not the greatest, and the trip might have had some influence: It's not stable anymore on stock firmware. It seems to run mostly without throttling up to the 816 MHash/sec firmware.
I'll put proper thermal paste on it when I have time, and see if that improves things.
I got mine from antirack who decided he had more than he needed Smiley

I also had a similar problem with it throttling when I first set it up.
(most likely caused by the courier)
In my case I ended up just letting it run overnight and by morning it was OK.
(most likely it was the heat sink contact and the heat of running for 8 hours resolved it?)
Though, local temperature was ~20C during the day that day, but a lot less that night (and my garage is cooler too since it is underground) and that cool night may also have had something to do with it.

Anyway there is a thread about throttling issues that may be helpful:

And here it is having just arrived Cheesy

It's a revision 3, with the heatpipes and the extra cooling block Smiley

Sadly, I can't test it yet: I don't have an adapter for the American plug. The power block itself can run on the voltage here, I just can't connect it. (Unless I would grab my soldering iron Cheesy)

Thanks, gigavps! It's awesome Grin

Thanks again to everyone for playing. I have an email out to BTCurious to verify he is the owner of the email address.

Once that is done, the single will be on it's way!

BTCurious has verified his email which he even provided in a post above. I will be shipping his rev3 single out to him today.

Thanks again everyone!

WOOOOOT Cheesy

I won ^___^

I didn't see that coming O_o

Buying 60 tickets pays off.
Apparently it did, indeed Tongue

It's actually a good thing people in the IRC channel were talking about it, or I might've missed it Tongue I nearly didn't buy any since the expected return was about half of the cost Tongue

(Email is [email protected], btw, if you don't believe me. Beware the case sensitivity Smiley)
