No joy on receiving either SP-10, DHL dropped the ball and never called back with update. I did however receive 2 x S1, but UPS screw'd the pooch on the 2 x S2, so once again all is right with the world. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

ST is on it, CS is working after hours Thanks Gadi.

DHL confirmed only 1 unit made the flight from Leipzig, if US customs can follow through with their completely unregulated waste of my tax dollar and nepotistic orgy, I will drive over and pick it up.

I would love to see an option to ship with UPS or FedEx. Cincinnati boring little town with terrible sports, but we are a shipping mecca.

My most recent orders actually were sent Fedex, after ALL my previous orders from them got f'ed by DHL, as Thomas_s knows all too well.
=) So today they billed for customs tax on electronics imports, last I checked those were tax exempt...

My current noise, according to a decibel meter app on my iPhone 4S reads between 80-82dB. So if it's about in that range, the noise should be fine. If its a lot higher then that, then I would have a problem. There is a room about 6 feet away, and my brother-in-law already complains slightly about a constant hum, so if it's any louder, he'll have a fit.

SP10 is less than 80dB so you are fine.

Who is hiding underneath the yellow sheet?  If that is your wife then a sp-10 is too loud for her.  She will complain.

lol no. I use that room specifically for mining, and store random things that doesn't get used much around the house anymore. Under the sheets I have a box filled with a couple of 1TB hard drives, HD 7970's/R290 GPU's (script mining days), and a lot of Ethernet cables.

Even with those temps, I think you would find the SP10 being a significant improvement, outside of noise.

I keep my current miners have an average of 97F (36C) during the day (Miami, FL)

My experience is ... (only got them 5 days ago) ... running two SP10s in an average temp of 30C - 31C and they are rock solid at 1.4TH. Temps read in at 32C, out at 72C ... the room keeps quite warm  Cheesy

If it stays rock solid at 1.4th, I think I'll be good with them, I'm just not sure how bad the efficiency will be at the wall with that type of heat.

What do you guys think?

I think you should buy an asicminer machine. Around $1.4/gh and 1w/gh at the wall.

Don't mean to jack the thread, but have you got a link somewhere? I didn't see anything about that. Please PM me if anything Smiley.

I am having my data center run 208V lines for my SP10s.  They don't provide 220V, only 208V.  Will that be enough to achieve 1.5 Th/s (I am currently hobbled at 1.3 Th/s due to the 110V limitation)?  Also, I need to tell the data center what kind of amps I will be pulling from each - can anyone with a watt meter who is running 1.5 Th/s answer that question?

....

I really want to purchase two SP10 units, but if the efficiency won't be that great due to the heat, then I might as well get some S2's instead. They aren't THAT much cheaper, but still cheaper.

What do you guys think?

SP 10  is not for use in the home. Very , very loud,.Very hot.
We had today 30 degrees C.

In miner room 36 degrees C  vent in. vent out.

The Antminer Patch 4 outcoming  airtemperature was  64 degrees , Antminer Patch 2  outcoming  airtemperature was  59 degrees and
downcloked  SP-10 temperature
Temp Front / Back  38 °C / 78 °C   Mining Rate: 1.09  Ths  -manual voltage setting : Start Voltage 0.615 , Maximum Voltage 0.615 , Fan Speed 90%

Most of the top KNC with six november  module  Avg.Hash Rate not cloked 1025 Gh/s , the most hotter Asic temp max 71,0 C

SP-10 is a good in server room. 'll take it next Week to another  air-conditioned room (7Kw cooling inverter)  Probably I buy a few more.

Okay I got a question here, I know that heat will make these unit a lot less efficient, and I'm trying to see if it is worth getting for me, the room where I keep my current miners have an average of 97F (36C) during the day (Miami, FL) and its only going to get hotter during the summer, so how will these systems handle that?

I currently run 16 AntMiner S1's, 2 Dragon 1T's, and 1 KNC Saturn with 3 boards.

I plan to underclock and undervolt the AntMiner S1's, which should reduce the heat slightly (140GHs/ 177W per system), but I don't expect the heat to lower under 94F, specially with summer heat coming.

I really want to purchase two SP10 units, but if the efficiency won't be that great due to the heat, then I might as well get some S2's instead. They aren't THAT much cheaper, but still cheaper.

Go back and do your research.

S2 still delivers damaged S2, and Bit-tech will delay you for +10 days and send you a full of dust miner with an underrated psu.

I know from first hand because I own 2x Bittech A1 and 5x S2.

coupon 300usd? lol, 3200-300= 2900USD

Antminer S2 2200usd - 400usd = 1800usd

Antminer S2 1Th/s x 3 = 3Th/s (3000W) - 5400USD (every day will cut the price of 30-60usd) and shipp FAST 3days.

SP10 1,4Th/s x 2 = 2,8Th/s (2500W) - 5800USD  shipp 3-5days?

Antminer S2 - High possibility arrives broken (2/2 arrived broken here, from different batches), haven't been able to keep stable above 1th/s
SP10 - Set up in less than 5 minutes, lower power consumption (lower power bill, takes up less power on the circuit), takes up less space, ability to OC to 1.5 in proper environment.

antmienr s2 from batch 4 now is have new version for case and is good.

or

A1 Coincraft 950 GH/s A1 - 1500USD (no coupon)

A1 Coincraft 950 GH/s A1 x 3 = 2,8Th/s (1900-2000W?) - 4500USD so is the best price Smiley

SP10 ships next day right now. Except that the week-end is a bit sooner in Israel.

Coupon is valid for the first 50 units!

Due to the recent issues with DHL shipping to the US we are looking into other couriers.

We will continue to update and should have a new solution within the next few days.

Thanks everybody for bringing these issues to our attention!

Maybe it is that you are lucky you are in USA. In Europe things are different.

Customs is a pain in the ass, as they need the invoice to be clear everywhere.
BITMAIN and the rest Chinese make it handwritten from times to times.
Don't let me post pics with silly half Chinese-English writing.

------------------------------------------

yes pain in the ass as you said it
Paid for the Antminer S1 with UPS 130 EURO rippoff UPS and customs brokers obligatory.
Its better to buy from EU and now with Ebay global shipping program you pay the taxes in advance....
making the purchases more and more difficult.
In Europe we are 400 milion people and all the miners are made in China!!!
at least its a shame!!!

... I would like to see another shipping option for future business with ST, buying great equipment and receiving great equipment are two different issues.

Me too. The best choice would be UPS
