It is a guess based on some analysis, usually when one bookmaker states one team to be favourite or one boxer to be favourite then usually others follow suit (and so on). I wish I had statistics to back this up but as of now I have none.

Various bookmakers have various ways of calculating and arranging odds, some will always be more than others. I am interested in exactly how much the lock down has been affecting regular and occasional game players and if there are any statsistics available to shows betting patterns associated with them.

Did you check this or is this your guess? There were times when I tested the effects of probability theory on bookmakers and carefully studied bets. To my surprise, almost all the odds were almost the same (except for minor differences).

Apart from sports betting such as on football, cricket, rugby, boxing, etc and the regular online casino type of websites - what other forms of gambling do you think people have participating in?
Well, almost all sports betting now has been postponed or rescheduled because of the COVID 19 situation. Here is my guide of sports event [ https://www.bbc.com/sport/50765073 ]. How about the e-sports and like Fortnite the most trending sports and games on the internet and perhaps most likely on the bookmaker's sites.

COVID 19 has a huge impact on all sports events and perhaps gamblers may be switched to online gambling or even in the e-ports games betting.

Precautionary measures would be to stop the protests. Or at least, think of an alternative where they don't actively seek for their deaths like what they are doing right now. Ofc, i'm not saying that they should stop but rather look for an alternative. It's also with these kinds of issues why the spread still won't stop, mainly because they think that the pandemic has already passed over after the past 3-4 months.

First of all, the protesters themselves must stop the protests; they, with the police, only kindle the waves of protests. In addition, protesters must be conscious enough to understand that mass congestions now can greatly worsen the situation in the country. And this is the biggest problem. Because a huge number of civilized people behaves like a herd of greedy animals to robberies and beatings.

That is just really unfortunate but I do understand that. They can't just play and follow the new normal since there are other players that are still positive with the virus. I guess we might not really see the continuation of the season in 30 days. That would take them weeks to quarantine and they can't just play after that since as far as I know there will be a follow up test to that.

I guess we will be sticking more to online games or esports betting right now. This is just sad.

I'd rather stick to eSports temporarily than let the players expose themselves to further risks. We already have a few infected players according to others here in the thread, and opening the NBA season just invites more of such events to happen imo. Plus, let's not forget how there are cases where people are asymptomatic (shows no symptoms) and can be very dangerous, especially with close contact games such as Basketball. If they were to test themselves, then there's a chance that could be avoided but that doesn't say that the chances are zero though.

The funny thing is that it is already known that those people who transmit the virus asymptomatically and feel great are the ones who infected the most people.
A long incubation period does not allow to identify the source of infection on time and those with whom he contacted.

What precautionary measures can be discussed while mass protests are taking place around the world with a constant violation of these measures.

Whether they want the sports to be resumed or restored as soon as possible, there is nothing they can do because everything is not back to normal. Would they rather be infected with the virus and risk their lives just to play sports again? Even families and other people around them are likely to suffer from neglect. Whatever we do with precautions is no guarantee that the virus will not spread. That's because we don't see it and who the carrier is. There are also tests that are inaccurate and there are times when they are invalid. Focus on what you can do today such as online gambling or esports.

That's correct, I read the updates in our very own thread the NBA 2020 Season , but it should not affect the betting as when NBA resume people can bet on any team they like including betting against the Team which has player/s positive from corona virus.

But it is said that the players have the right to say no right? So if they might face against the team, maybe Brooklyn or other teams which have allegedly players that are positive to the virus, they can say no? right. If I am a pro player of a team, I would definitely say no since it is really a gamble. But some superstars have proven that they also look at fans as an important part of the game, I guess they would play since people are actually hoping they will.

Still, I am so scared for them.

That would be a disaster. People are actually having a hard time to survive the first wave, how much more if we will be having the second wave. Some people thought that what we have right now is the second wave but as far as I know, we are still in the first wave, that is why I hope 2nd wave doesn't happen anymore. Though medical personnel should be ready for this does or it doesn't happen. That would also mean more delays and cancellations of games again.
Anyway, the NBA will be resuming soon and I can't wait for it to bet on my favorite teams.
Unfortunately, there are some players who tested positive these past few days. Some of them are in Brooklyn and some are in Indiana. Don't know the rest of the players who are tested positive but this may affect the performance of the team and the league as a whole.

The resume of the NBA is 30 days away and many players can get affected still. There are some who choose not to play anymore since it is not necessary that they will play (optional) and they will not get punished. If more and more players will be tested positive within these time frame, I'm afraid that they will decide to just stop the whole season totally.

Knowing these I think I will be waiting longer.

I am not expecting players to play right now since they are also at risk of being contaminated by the virus. I know that there will be medical staff there taking care of the players but there are other things that they can be contaminated. Like for example when they will be going outside, going back to their busses or their plane and they might hold or touch something with a virus.

Well, although I have mentioned I made my own beliefs towards the reality of this pandemic, but I wasn't breaking any rules and guidelines that my local government imposed.
Anyway, sports events have their own set of guidelines and I guess majority of them doesn't allow spectators or crowds inside the gym/facility. So, everything will be televised or be watched online. Though, the set up in the gym sounds boring for the athletes, but thats the least they can do to revive the business.

We need to follow the rules and guidelines from our government so we can save our lives and keep healthy for ourselves. The sports event can't allow the crowds inside the gym/stadium because that can break the rules, and if the government knows, they will stop the event.

I hope that all people that involve in that sports event will understand the situations, and they will make sure that the event can succeed without an audience. I think without the audience, that game will be pure depend on their skills to play so that they will give the best performance to each fan.

Whether they want the sports to be resumed or restored as soon as possible, there is nothing they can do because everything is not back to normal. Would they rather be infected with the virus and risk their lives just to play sports again? Even families and other people around them are likely to suffer from neglect. They will not want to be infected with the virus because that can risk their lives, so they will not come to the stadium, and prefer to watch the game from their home. At least, we can prevent the virus by always be careful if we are in the public area. Although we can't always guarantee to be safe from the virus, we can do precautions as you say, so we can know how to take care of ourselves.

Thank you for the links, they make some very interesting reading.

I hope people manage to stay away from gambling addiction during the lock downs no matter which country they reside in.

Does anybody have any links to statistics about gambling patterns from people under the lock down or being affected by the pandemic?
I've searched for particular sources and data for this but I haven't seen the whole online gambling stats. These are what I've seen, for particular online gambling game like poker and for specific countries.

I also wish the same that as soon as vaccine is available things will start getting back on normal. But just couple of days back has being hearing some of the people in the Health ministry of the country that they do not expect to be available till this year end. Mostly it would be the next year where they expect it, though considering there are few countries which has already started the trail run on human and if that will be successful it will be out soon.

I wrote earlier. In Russia, a few weeks ago, they started testing the vaccine on volunteers. If all goes well, the production of the vaccine will begin in the autumn of this year. I really hope that everything will work out as planned.

Corona virus makes me a little stressed, because for several months I can not play sports betting. Fortunately now the spread of the corona virus
has started a downward trend, so some sports have started running again. Even though the match has no live audience, at least sports betting
have started walking again. Hopefully the spread of the corona virus does not increase again, because of fear if the spread of the corona virus
increase again. Sports matches will be stopped again and this can have an impact on sports gambling.

In my opinion, humanity lives in too greenhouse conditions. We relaxed very much. In ancient times, our ancestors experienced stress when they had nothing to eat or when their lives were in danger, in the modern world people are stressed by the fact that they took away the ability to make bets and the like. Everything that is happening now has only slightly changed our usual way of life, while the stress that we experience is comparable to great hardships. It is terrible to think what will happen when the financial crisis in full or war begins.

I think all the matches are treated like that because we don't want the spread to continue and we as big sports fans will certainly take advantage of virtual online as they watch the game. I think this will become a habit if we continue.

My area also applies the same thing so whatever we have to enjoy to watch it and believe me it will return to normal after everything has recovered we will be free to go see the match.

Even the American Got talent has no audience when I watched it earlier I think every show and the game match will have this kind of setting since the pandemic still ongoing. I'm fine with this since we have lots of sources to watch some sport matches and game shows. You're right after everything is fine, we can watch every match we want and go to the cinemas too.
So AGT got resumed also?will be checking this now because i am a fan lol.

as Asian people i have no chance to watch the games Live even the events like this so i am in favor of what is restriction now.
The problem are those who loves watching and supporting their team in Live action.
