....
I would be interested in these numbers broken down by age range, and preexisting serious medical conditions (such as cancer) that may make a person more vulnerable to the effects of the flu, and may have an already elevated chance of dying without having a Coronavirus infection.
The discrepancy at the beginning stemmed form the fact that China counted virus infected deaths differently.
If someone is terminal ill literally days away from death and is then infected with a virus and dies, its statistically counted as a victim of the virus.
In reality the virus just shortened the suffering period and pushed it over the edge. Previously China would list the cause of death as preexisting serious medical conditions and not the flu, SARS-Cov-2......  like in US or other places.
I will have to read into if any virus can kill a 100% healthy person (some have undiagnosed health issues and feel 100% healthy).

You sure dont want to be homeless in San Francisco / California right now.

There have not even been anyone from San Francisco infected with the Coronavirus. My strong suspicion is the city declaring a state of emergency is more a political move intended to hurt Trump than it is an actual emergency.

If there is more fear about getting the Coronavirus, then people will refrain from traveling, going to public places (to spend money), and will spend less money. This will hurt the economy, and the stock market, both of which Trump is running on in his re-election campaign.

As it stands now, the risk of getting the Coronavirus in the US is very low. Now may be the time to prepare for a possible outbreak, however there is no current reason to panic in the US.

~
The numbers in the Philippines and France are low enough so that the high mortality rate is not statically significant. I don't trust the numbers coming out of Iran, however I believe they have an especially poor healthcare system, and their citizens are likely hesitant to disclose information to the government out of fear of what the government will do to them.

I would be interested in these numbers broken down by age range, and preexisting serious medical conditions (such as cancer) that may make a person more vulnerable to the effects of the flu, and may have an already elevated chance of dying without having a Coronavirus infection.

Pence just named the guy in charge of the Coronavirus (obviously alongside the other public health experts in the administration) https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-says-coronavirus-risk-americans-very-low-administration-effectively-handling-n1143756

Not sure on why this is the case, but I guess the President has a lot on his plate to begin with that it makes it easier to delegate this one to someone who has real responsibilities (the VP). So yeah.

There is a new outbreak in another European country.
This time in Greece. It was imminent this to happen as coronavirus has hit Italy with over 300 incidents reported, which is a neighbor country and those two countries exchange a lot of products and people via sea everyday.
Italy to Greece is a 7 hour ferry crossing.
Not a single country bordering China had someone dying from SARS-CoR-2 virus responsible for the COVID-19 disease part of the corvid class of viruses.
China has active land borders with 13 countries 9 of them no-one infected. All 22 of the others have recovered, so no neighbor country has anyone infected currently.

In fact, the coronavirus is a huge threat not only to the world economy, but also to the entire population of the Earth. Yesterday on one of the Russian-language news sources I came across an animation that very well demonstrates the spread of this virus from January 25 to February 25.

Already 2704 death, oh no we all going to die.
In all of South America no infection, also in Central America. In whole of Africa one single case.

There is one case in Brazil already, someone that came from Lombardy Italy, a 61 year old. The way things are going, not a single region of the world will escape. Except maybe North Korea, nobody is allowed in or out from there...

From certain areas, reported numbers of coronovirus can be considered totally unreliable. A lab test is required to separate this virus from the more common ones; if the lab test is not done, there can be no report of a coronovirus.

Patient was sent to the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, they are yet to confirm it. There is another suspected case from a 21 year old woman in Rio de Janeiro.

Source is EFE.

Most likely negative like other countries. Even if positive 97% of infected recover. Suspected is not infected certainly not dead.
There is 250000 to 500000 deaths from the flu every year.  In 2019 200 death and in 2018 335 died from the flu in Brazil.

Quote
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - According to the Brazilian Health Ministry, there were 199 registered fatalities from influenza in Brazil through June 3rd, 2019. The H1N1 virus has caused the majority (74.4 percent).

The total number of deaths is lower than at the same date last year, when the flu had killed 335 people. However, the number of H1N1 cases has increased.

Just a friendly reminder, i can just talk from an italian perspective but still, we have 10 deaths attributed to the ncov19 here but each patient was OLD and had a pretty bad health situation (they wouldve probably died even with a normal flu).

It's easy to start panicking (and most journalists are not helping tbh), but let's remember that the majority of people with the virus are asintomatic or have a really soft type of symptoms.

Compering any Coroana virus to the Influenza Virus aka flu is like compering local league to super league.

You must be a time-traveler and know things ahead of time.
There is no reported case in Mongolia and people commute daily to china.
Myanmar (Burma) has a 2,185 km (1,357 mi) long border with China has no SARS-Cov-2 infections, same with Laos.
Russia did have 2 cases and both recovered.
India did have 3 cases and all recovered.
Africa does have a second case.

Lucky Africa. I think they are not going to have any problem with this virus.
Now Europe has a huge problem as Italy has already reported 7 deaths and more than 230 infections mainly in the north part of the country.

In such a case, one of possibly best elements of European integration - Schengen Area becomes a real problem. Without regular borders and checks, people infected in Italy can get in a car and move almost anywhere in Europe by car within just a matter of hours. Considering that the Coronavirus infected might be unnoticed for almost a month - this could have a terrible effect and panic in the whole EU

And even more so in the USA. There are loads of roads between the States that have no border patrol at all... thousands. All you need to do is drive.
