legendary is assigned at random from 850 activity if i'm not mistaken, but legendary is useless it cost too much and it does not offer anything over hero

Agree with you. In my eyes, the best strategy is to buy a Senior Account with around 450 activity. It is cheaper than a hero account and you can reach Hero rank within a month.
IMHO no one will be stupid to sell that account approaching to hero level within one month. The value of the account will be double within a month.

well not really, remember that the activity is very important a senior with 450 isn't the same thing as a senior with 250, the cost is proportional to its activity so waiting for that account to become hero is in part a waste of time

The number of Hero members has been increased more than last year, and the price of bitcoin has been changed

The reason is because more and more high ranked accounts exists. An increase of supply lowers the price naturally.

I have seen that the price of the accounts has been decreased if we compare a year ago when the price were really high

anywhere from 775 to 1030 actually: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/forum-rankspositionsbadges-what-do-those-shiny-coins-under-my-name-mean-178608

chances of selling a bitcointalk account is higher if sold here rather than selling in ebay

i cant imagine a bitcointalk account would even sell on ebay, if it manages to even get listed and not taken down in the first place. "bitcointalk account" isnt exactly a popular search term on ebay...

Definitely. 99% of any potential buyers of Bitcointalk accounts already browse the forums, and the active shoppers are going to check the Digital Goods section first. Listing an account on a third party like eBay is such a waste of time, especially considering how niche the good is.

People buy them mostly for signature campaigns, or they just don't want to invest the time to get to a certain status, time is money after all.

i believe there is another truffic of the business around buying bitcointalk account, many do buy account to increase post or do some trading and sell them with a better price

take a look at this example, what if i buy a senior with zero trust for 0.2 btc, and then i do some fast fake trading with low amount to increase its trust to ..let's say x10, with this new trust this same account would have a value of at least 0.3...

with this simple example you can easy understand that they are not bought only for signature, there is a heavy traffic for other reasons, that may be even more profitable...
Bro how can we get the post of legendry member Smiley?

i dont think so everyone buy the accounts only for signature campaigns some buy because they like the rank some buy because they want to have an avatar or dont want to wait to much between each post

Has anybody ever sold a Legendary account? If so how much for? I don't think I could physically let go of my account if I made it to Legendary, it takes what, over 2.5 years to become a Legendary member. It'd be kind of demoralising to have taken all that time & effort posting to just let go of it. I wouldn't sell mine for the prices mooted on here, no way.

So, people invest in a trusted accounts too and that's bad.. I would make it illegal to sell accounts with green ratings, because who buy them often do scam to get a slightly higher amount than they spend on the account and that's really bad...

Just for interest: is it allowed to sell bitcointalk accounts on ebay? i thought ebay is prohibiting selling digital accounts  Roll Eyes

sometimes you can find good offers on ebay.
cheers

ebay? they sell bitcointalk accounts in there?

edit:
I just looked around and looks like there's only 1 person selling it and he don't have any more accounts

its true, ive had several of my listings removed a few months back for being digital goods (botted LoL accounts); imo it was probably because digital goods are hard to dispure weather they were delivered or not, makes disputed a headache for them i guess. however, i suspect that evenmatt's comment was just mindless sig spam.

Selling Bitcoin talk accounts on eBay is just as risky as selling Bitcoin. People will just say they never received the details or the details were wrong and already changed etc then just put in a claim and get their money back.
