i do this question because i´ve read in this website issues with bitcoin, slow mining process, high fees, etc. and i´ve read too good reviews of some altcoins, ethereum (smart contracts), ripple (for transfers between banks), dash and nem. these altcoins called 2.0. could bitcoin become just in future virtual gold reserved to companies and rich people?
that might happen. many say bitcoin is one good investment because of the higher over time then many people buy bitcoin and hold it. they forget that the function of bitcoin is a decentralized peer-to-peer payment network that is fully controlled by its users without any intermediaries. the functionality is not supported with expensive transaction fees now.

It can be. But Bitcoin will still be dominant for a long time. Specially that it is the first ever currency that has been made. Its like the US dollar but in the Crypto World. There is still a possibility though, if one day a new and much more appreciated Cryptocurrency would be released, then bitcoin will have lesser value.

Actually son can replace father? Daughter can replace mother? Like that example is the coins and bitcoin because bitcoin is the father and other currencies are the daughter and sons so i would like to say that don't worry about this that bitcoin would be replace wait for that time that those currency which you are talking about that they would have a clean image or not.
There is a chance if the cryptocurrency is good like bitcoin or even better than bitcoin like for now, there is a threat which is the bitcoin cash and it is now taking all the people's attention and its price is slowly moving up and that is a threat for bitcoin because the demand might diverse and it will go into bitcoin cash instead of bitcoin and that can replace bitcoin anytime.
yes no doubt that chance is always there but i think if we study and analysis bitcoin with other altcoin, then we can come to the conclusion that it is not so easy for any altcoin to overcome bitcoin, because bitcoin is becoming more and more stronger from time to time.

Nobody sells a profitable business. Why sell bitcoin if it brings an income? It seems to me that bitcoin has a great future and we are only at the beginning of the path. In this situation, you need not to sell and to buy bitcoin. But I think that the huge leaps in prices will gradually leave in the past.
For now there is no other coin that can compete with bitcoin. There is no precise prediction. Forks have destroyed the trust of many people. But clearly BTC remains a king now and for the future.
Right and it is hard for the other altcoin to reach what bitcoins have now. I think bitcoins is irreplaceable on its position as top one .First of all bitcoin is the most secure crypto and has been widely used by the peoples.

I think perhaps in the distant future there will be some more perfect currency that can replace bitcoin. Technologies are constantly evolving and it is logical if the crypto-currencies will also develop.
It's really good question to discuss. We all know that many people prefers bitcoin because it is old, known and trusted. But there are something which people don't like as time goes, for example high transaction fees and low block size. But people trust to bitcoin so much, it's currently hard to beat btc. Maybe in future there will be 1 good altcoin, better than bitcoin which will gain more trust and popularity, really hard to discuss but I am optimist on bitcoin and I think it will be always as first in cryptocurrencies as google is first in search engines.
I think it is just a matter of time... Even if we just compare bitcoin and ETH, they are both good, but in technological way ETH is more ahead, WAVES is even better and also Viacoin is upcoming trend. Bitcoin gained power for several years and became one of the greatest cryptocurrencies, others coins are new players on this arena. I think bitcoin could be replaced, maybe even in a few years already.

Bitcoin continues to be the best and the most valuable cryptocurrency. There are many rising competitors of Bitcoin. They are trying to beat the Bitcoin in terms of price and security. For my own opinion, Bitcoin couldn't replace by another digital currency. Bitcoin will become expensive with a good demand and supply in the blockchain. 
No, bitcoin soon might have smart contracts as eth, soo i dont see any other crypto with any other advantage over bitcoin, but time will tell, for now there is no altcoin for bitcoin.
Though difficult but I'm sure there will be coins that can replace bitcoin, I'm sure that someday there will be a country that will make coins and legalized so that it can be used en masse country and it is likely to beat bitcoin.
if your talk of a single country backing its own cryptocoin i do not think this will be possible for it to take on bitcoin which is backed by a world wide community, besides other countries might see this as a race of financial muscle and wouldn't sign in on this. For now bitcoin will keep leading the pack as we await for more innovations to give bitcoin a good run.

I think yes but in reality that coin which have the potential to replace the bitcoin will be made by the team.of the blockchain of bitcoin only because it is not simple thing for anyone , because traffic of the people to use such coins are a big factor and that type of technology to handle bitcoin place can be done by the bitcoin .And also here to overcome the problem of speed of confirmation the team of the bitcoin made the new coin BCC coin ( bitcoin cash) .
So here forget everything and just wait until the BCC coin perfectly get develop and than we can use it in perfect way to use the money in the internet with beyter speed and very low fee ( which is the target for this new coin ) .

Others might see BCC as a competitor but at at today. I have not seen other coin coming to take over from bitcoin because Bitcoin in my opinion has grown beyond the issue of just been a coin as the adoption has grown so large even outside the crypto world to the secular world which has commanded discussions in places of authority this is something I don't see other coin achieving not to talk of surpassing bitcoin.
