It is not the Bitcoin itself which made the revolution in the market. It was the blockchain technology. So, could Bitcoin be replaced by another cryto-currenc? Hardly, but it is possible. However, it is important to remember the fact this new currency would be using the very same blockchain technology from Bitcoin itself, and this is not necessarily mean that Bitcoin will loose all its value. I think this is a matter we do not need to worry about for the next 10 years, because Bitcoin is still a "toddler"!

i do this question because i´ve read in this website issues with bitcoin, slow mining process, high fees, etc. and i´ve read too good reviews of some altcoins, ethereum (smart contracts), ripple (for transfers between banks), dash and nem. these altcoins called 2.0. could bitcoin become just in future virtual gold reserved to companies and rich people?

Could possibly be. Enthusiasts are always finding ways for new  inventions and discoveries. Could probobly develop one day a more better coin that will surpass bitcoin.

I think it is highly feasible that when crypto gain wider adoption from the general public that bitcoin could be replaced. At this point the coin with the largest level of usefulness to the general population will thrive and right now that probably isn't bitcoin.

HEX: Longer pays better
Maybe in the future it could be replace by another crypto currency,
Maybe one of the future alt-coin or one of the alt-coin is going to surpass it.

Yes, in the future it can happen. No one can accurately predict what kind of currency will develop and take first place. In some countries bitcoin is banned and there can start using other crypto-currencies.
Can you give information those countries? As per my know, I do not remember have country accept cryptocurrency but do not accept Bitcoin. Maybe, you are mistaken and you should give us a proof to prove your said is right.

Existence bitcoin cann't be replaced by other cryptocurrency, because bitcoin is parent. Like dollar against other fiat.

OMG, that made me laugh so hard. $ was a parent of all currencies (it was first currency ever used!) and $ can't be replaced as there aren't any countries that use other currency.  IQ 11/10.

IMO btc will be replaced by another crypto- the one that countries will make on their own. There will be no "paper currency", all of transactions will be proccessed with no anonymity and thanks to idea of cryptocurrency there will be no more freedom. Kinda grotesque. But it's going to happen in 20-30 years+ so I don't care about it yet.

I am sure that all of the coin who would like to beat the bitcoin will never happen. bitcoin popularity hard to beat, required a long time to build popularity. so far i can see the most threatening altcoin that have a lot of potential that is ethereum

Yes there is a possibility that bitcoin will be defeated by other cryptocurrency especially if the problem on it will not be solved. But as far as I see right now, bitcoin was very ahead to other currency it is much useful than to other and it is much develop. Bitcoin was used all over the world and its like a fiat but the only difference on it was you cant used it as a payment because only few accept it. but I think it wont happen that bitcoin will be replaced by other cryptocurrency because of its characteristic and usage this time.

The only coin that could damage and hit bitcoin and his doing is eth with those smart contracts taking the fuel to ICO using them, but i believe sooner we will have those feature over bitcoin and will end at once with those advantage that eth has over bitcoin. But bitcoin remains very strong due to its being one of the most profitable and powerful crypto coin, with big investors around and potencial new investors coming to crypto to invest over bitcoin.

I think NO. because last august 1 there is a news regarding bitcoin split. Maybe it wouldn't replace but instead it would split by another currency that's why BCC exists today. BCC is another type of currency. But I must prefer in bitcoin because I know that it couldn't replace by other and also it is the strongest in all.

I can't say that it will be impossible since all cryptocurrency are only dependent on the demand in terms of each of its market value. So there's a possibility, especially if there'll be a coin that will be more indemand than Bitcoin and will also have a more expensive price than Bitcoin. If this would happen, it will be more profitable and surely, lots of Bitcoin users will transfer into it that would result to total defeat.

In my own opinion, there is a less chance that bitcoin could be replace by another cryptocurrency because bitcoin is the number one cryptocurrency and it is mostly used by everyone than other cryptocurrency. That's why bitcoin has a chance to be the future currency according to some articles.

100% it could be, but at this point, it would be a huge huge challenge, given how entrenched Bitcoin is.

Definitely. All people saying no are delusional.

Bitcoin does have first-movers advantage. The mainstream public has heard about Bitcoin but doesn't quite understand it yet.
