When Bitcoin-bashers claim that Bitcoin can be and is used to fund and sponsor crimes, they are not wrong. It probably is true at this point in time. Here is another question? What currency is an overwhelming majority of laundering or drugs trade conducted in the world today? Fiat currency. Both are true. And yet, this argument is never levelled against fiat currency to force a shut-down, is it?

well i think the perception of criminality rate in bitcoin also applies equally to fiat, much bitcoin use only leads to internet technology. It really doesn't make any difference and this is not the main reason if bitcoin is must ultimately regulate by the government. Bitcoin crime does look more intellectual and we are trapped by anonymous and decentralized patterns, but this makes us more responsible and more qualified to maintain the security and balance of personal accounts and There are a lot of criminals out there in this world that they will not choose who will go to be their victims. Even if the person is not rich they will still scam people. So I don't think that you give criminals an option to think that they can use bitcoin

Either way, Bitcoin has got nothing to do with crime. The majority of Bitcoin users are law-abiding people motivated by privacy concerns.

bitcoin has nothing to do with a criminal person, beside criminal activity has been taking place before bitcoin and any other crypto related business currency stated, bitcoin is a crypto currency that any body can invest on.

https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.

In terms of criminality in general, I believe there is no direct correlation between that and the existence or growth of Bitcoin. Criminality has always been present. There is direct correlation between human existence and criminality instead. That, we cannot deny. But if we specify crybercrime, then perhaps Bitcoin will have some role in there, but definitely not the factor causing its increase. Perhaps its role is a minor one. One of which may be is that cybercriminals choose to ask Bitcoin instead of fiat because of tracking issues.

Bitcoin can handle basic banking features. By eliminating most intermediate processes, Bitcoin allows individuals to participate in transactions without fear of touching anti-money laundering systems. And with the help of Bitcoin, many tons of opium will be The rhino horn will quickly cross the border, and transnational criminals can easily transfer huge amounts of money easily and of course, completely anonymously. And this is the birthplace. Crime, fraud.

For me criminality and bitcoin has no connection to each other. Bitcoin cannot be use by the criminals because there's a little bit process before they get bitcoin.
Policemans may reach criminals if they use this kind of modus operation bacause it needs a lot of time before they get money.

Bitcoin is not a criminal tool. I really don't think we can't stop criminals from being criminals, they use fiat money just like they use crypto.

yes that's true, because bitcoin or fiat is just a medium used as a tool for crime. people who commit crimes will remain without bitcoin. because it is a bad human being, not a bitcoin or another.

I believe that criminality everywhere even in bitcoin, it can be used in good terms and also in bad terms because it is anonymous, you can use it in illegal transactions and etc, I think that is also the reason why most of the government around the world is refusing in the bitcoin to be an official currency in their country.  bitcoin is a source of income that lot of people would like it. .

Yes I believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world because they use bitcoin for their transaction. I read some news about it because the transaction in bitcoin is safe and secured so our government will not notice if they use it for criminality.

One should agree with the opinion that the criminals used and will use various ways to commit illegal activities. This occurred before the appearance of bitcoin and will occur regardless of its existence. Therefore, it is impossible to say that it is the bitcoin that is to blame for the growth of crimes and illegal activities of people. Of course, criminals figured out how to use bitcoin for their own purposes. And the government's task is to create a legal mechanism to suppress these crimes.

Bitcoins are a favorite of criminals. Bitcoins have become “the currency of choice for people online buying drugs or other illicit activities,” reports Money.com. For example, Silk Road was a major online market that used bitcoins to sell illegal drugs. It was shut down in 2014 by U.S. regulators.

Even before bitcoin was introduced to us by Satoshi, criminals has used various ways to make illegal activities. This is also the case with fiat as well. So we can't blame bitcoin for the increase in crimes. criminals will be criminals no matter what, bitcoin or no bitcoin . They just found bitcoin and exploit its "flaws". Absolutely. They putting a red paint of bitcoin as if those criminals using it can't be caught. They are looking bitcoin in one side only and they are biased. They should also look at how bitcoin can be used in other aspects financially, not just in illegal activities. Criminals never brought bitcoin and bitcoin never brougt criminals.  They always exist.

Of course. Theft of Bitcoin purses, the number of scam ICOs, money laundering through Bitcoin, and much more. Most of them are people who crave money. Looking for money in a criminal way that is obviously wrong.

I can't really understand people saying there is a link between criminality and bitcoin. Obviously, there isn't. As one of the users said above, the criminals keep going. They can get paid in money, cash, gold, any valuable thing. Bitcoin has nothing do with it.

Criminals use Bitcoin to collect ransom from the victim just like extortion scheme, but nowadays it was already well known to expertise and to government about this kind of cyber crime attack,Bitcoin helped fuel the rise of ransom ware attacks like the recent WannaCry cyberattack.

Since the currency of the crypto is a new in the market, the situation in the crime regulation law can not be organized. The biggest revolutions always have good and bad things and bitcoin shamely is not the exception. Using and holding bitcoin is not crime itself. As far as I know, not all people used their bitcoin in cybercrime activities. Here in my country bitcoin now is so popular and many people used it every day in their life and I never heard any bad news about bitcoin that used in criminal activities.

In some circumstances the bitcoin is use by some people in criminality and that is not good for the image of bitcoin,  so they provide a immediate action with response of the  government in order to address this thing.
