I think the game could have so much more! Although it can turn out to be pretty interesting it has a very old-fashioned interface and it can turn out to be pretty complicated.

I hope to see more developments in the game.

It is 1604 in game world now. How fast does time pass online in comparison to the real world?

We try to get the online world change year midnight after every Sunday UTC.

So, 52 years will pass in place of one real-year.

Characters will start at minimum 15 years and live max 50 more years.

Well unless you have access to W1603A, VOH "Spring Water" and the wizardly stuff...

This will change so that horses are a tradable item themselves, just as NPC are.

Horses will take classes from H1 to H9 based on their "goodness". The goodness is important in battle, or if fast travel is required in the countryside, or majestic conduct in especially the 4- and 6-horse carriages. A not-so-good horse is enough for riding slowly in the town setting, or peacefully pulling a TRC2. Best horses are theoretized to develop a white appearance and grow a horn between eyes, but we haven't been able to verify this yet due to not having such yet.

Existing horses will be graded based on the quality of their riding equipment and level of their carriage.

The 85 horses existing in the town were summoned for grading, and indeed when the formula showed H8 or H9, the horse in question rapidly turned white, started to shine in gold (H9) or silver (H8) and also exhibited the one horn. It was most marvellous to see it.

The Gold Unicorns (4 exist) are owned by:
- King
- Forte Spagnolo
- Roopatra
- Quaid.

The Silver Unicorns (5 exist) are owned by:
- OZ (4; these will be a magnificent sight with his all-golden carriage)
- Forte Spagnolo.

H7 horses "very good" we have only 2, belonging to North Face and Tavastia, one each.

- NF Tailors are producing 23 suits, which are also added to /ITEMS & /F_OWN. (Note: all items' ownership data, even the former "unique" items, is now in /F_OWN!)

North Face Tailors Complete Wonderful Custom Suits

The North Face Tailors have completed the first custom order suits and have delivered them to the owners.  The follow fine works were commissioned and completed:

HSH The Prince of OZ - A fine Noble Blue Suit made with Ancient Cloth with Shocked 1750g Shocked of CKS Emblems and Trim - "The was a challenge that we are very proud of.  It is a very heavy piece of clothing and we are sure the Price will gain much strength just from wearing it"

The Earl of Ghibli - A fine Noble Blue Suit made with Ancient Cloth with 200g of CKS Emblems and Trim - "Our first suit created with CKS worked into the cloth has turned out wonderfully and we hope the Earl wears it well"

The Marquess of White Cross - 2 Red Suits made of Ancient Cloth and 25g of CKG each - "The Marquess was very excited to receive his first suits with CKG in the design."

Master Crichton - 1 Red Suit made with ancient cloth with 3g CKG  - "The Master's red suit has just enough CKG to make this suit special, but for some reason he seems intent on obtaining black cloth we have not seen in the kingdom.  We can only guess for its uses"

Master Mooo - Modern Orange and Green suits - "Master Moo was a challenge for our tailors as the measurements seemed very unusual and our standard patterns did not work.  Grin "

Zrue and Petrarch - Modern Green Suits - "These look much better on them than the drab gray suits and we are certain they will last much longer as well!"

The Tailors are gearing up for production this year and are producing their first Royal suits for HM.  If you would like to order a custom suit or an item from our inventory, you can fill out the following form and will can provide you with a quote to have it completed this year!

The Royal Mint announcement

The rules of the auction:
- Half of the coins of each type are made a special category where only 2 instances (of each) can be bought per character. This makes it possible for everybody to gain some at (most likely) the floor price.
- The other half + all the coins not sold in the special category, are auctioned normally with everyone paying the lowest winning bid.
- The previous rules are taken into account automatically, and the cheapest combination for the buyer is used, so it does not affect bidding.
- The auction lasts for 36 hours from the timestamp of this post.
Jacket bids:

CR1604E / 5 CKG / 30 minted 4 @ 7.5 mil
CR1604A / 1 CKG / 50 minted 4 @ 3 mil
CS1604E / 5 CKS / 50 minted 4 @ 2 mil

Marquess noms was walking through the center of San Pietro borough, and he found himself in the church. After staring at a number of art pieces, he felt moved enough to commission the Dutch painter Caravaggio to make him an oil on canvas of the Crowning of the Thorns. It's a 178cm x 125 cm painting, and it should be quite nice when it is finished. He excitedly awaits it and will figure out payment very shortly!

edit:
I added ART-22 to the ITEMS sheet on row 31, but not sure about the IC withdrawal or if it needs to be added anywhere else. also not sure what to put for Sort_id_in_F_OWN. Any chance you could advise?

New items are created as follows:

- Add a new row with data on ITEMS sheet, before assigning an Item_id do a "search" to ensure it is unique.
- Add a new column with the new item_id in F_OWN and mark yourself as the owner
- Reduce your IC for the corresponding year and amount in F_OWN. The item gets the year of the IC spent (or any year between that and the present).

In typical cases, K4 is the lowest custom item and costs 10 IC, K5 is 20 IC etc. until K10 is 1,000 IC. See IC_SHOP for details.

Horse and Carriage changes

One of the last changes in GoogleDB, if the entrepreneurs Prince of F.S. (horse) and Marquess of W.C. (carriage) agree and get their instructions from me later today.

Historically, horses have been integrated in Transport items (TRH, TRC2, TRC4 and theoretically TRC6 though none exist, each containing the number of horses mentioned).

Only the Horse Preservation Center owned by Forte Spagnolo has the capability to train the horses to the higher levels. This will further be enhanced by their spending of 5,000 SCI.

Existing horses will be graded based on the quality of their riding equipment and level of their carriage.

Existing carriages and riding equipment will be degraded by one K-point, due to the separation of horses from them. The items stay otherwise intact.

The Phaeton Carriage Works will start operations upon the spend of 5,000 SCI. The conversion formula will be somewhat akin to the Suit-making formula with colors, elaboracy and gilding/silvering costing extra. The highest-level carriage K10 will now require to be 6-horse very elaborate, and such does not exist in the whole Kingdom yet, though rumors say that at least two clients may emerge...

(if good enough horses are graded or trained, of course)

A further word of ART Works of Art. Nobody has commissioned these for some years, they can be converted from IC (100, 200, 500, 1000). The Dutch painters are starting their golden age, making it lucrative to get these priceless pieces to your palace. Just a tip.

The buildings look awesome! I'm also really excited to get playing. I was a bit young and we didn't have Ultima. Also a bit dense in general, so I'll unfortunately be a fumbling n00b for a while. Hope I don't mess up my character or properties too bad while working through the learning curve. But yeah, very excited.

The Royal Mint announcement

Very Likely The Last Auction In This Thread

The Royal Mint has learnt from its past mistakes and produced the 1604-series coins in sufficient quantities for collectors and the interested.

The following coins are made:

CR1604E, 5 CKG, the continuation of the CR series 5-gram coins dating back to 1400. This year 30 minted.

CR1604A, 1 CKG, the 4th issue of the new entry level gold coin. This year 50 minted.

CS1604E, 5 CKS, the first of its kind our domestic 5-gram silver coin! Previously we have only had the 12-gram foreign trade silver coins, but since they are only renewed every 10 years, it is not likely that the current ones will become interesting to collectors until a century has passed at least! This new coin aims to become an affordable size for new and old players alike and depending on the popularity may be issued in smaller or larger quantities later on. This year 50 minted, the first of its kind.

(Coins are not yet in the ITEMS/F_OWN, but they will be created according to rules.)

- The auction lasts for 36 hours from the timestamp of this post.

Current situation:

CR1604E / 5 CKG / 30 minted
Floor price 4.2 mil (the ask for the plentiful CR1602E is 4.05 mil)

CR1604A / 1 CKG / 50 minted
Floor price 1.0 mil (the ask for the plentiful CR1602A is 1.0 mil)

CS1604E / 5 CKS / 50 minted
Floor price 1.0 mil (the Queen's Pawnshop ask for generic 5 CKS is 0.92 mil)

PS. New wine W1604 is added, but it does not bring much, except promise for comparably fast aging. Since 1600, no ready-to-drink vintage has been produced by our French suppliers.

Still wild and free
Haven't tested yet, but accepting commands with units such as "800mon" and "800mil" (with mil = 10^6 mon obviously) would be quickly mandatory.
If meaningful economic activities are taking off on this game exchange, we can't afford mistakes with one missing zero in a string of +10 zeros.

Yes indeed. Now is the time to reap the rewards of the Ultima project and our great dev Wizard P.J. !

We need testers for the command line and the exchange functionality (the exchange is used via cli, by commands such as BUY MEAD 1000 800 which is a command to place a bid for 1000 units of mead at 800 m/unit.

The usefulness of command line cannot be underestimated. It is not only making it possible to enter any bids and asks from anywhere within the game (no need to navigate to "the right place"(TM)), but also it allows batch command execution, for instance ladder bids and asks or mass giftings of an item. Furthermore, it will be possible to have automatic commands given via cli API, enabling market making in the exchange and many other cool features.

The command line is first time operative TODAY! Which is the reason I am spending the latter (middle) part of my working day in the Brewdog bar, who sell beers (dozens craft beers available) by 1/3 a pint if requested, thereby allowing me to try out a few every time I wish for lunch, snack, or early dinner. It is detrimental healthy to have such a place 2 minutes from your office...!

Also the other major feature that I already tried out, is the Agora Exchange. The possibility to place bids and asks for every item, lot, coin, NPC, and whatever, in the game, is  s i m p l y   a s t o u n d i n g. Think about it. We are not wishing to be a crypto exchange, but the potential to act as such is there now: we have micro-XMR and micro-BTC and one is the asset and the other one is money (although other way round compared to the other exchanges  Cheesy )

Greetings from the Department of Public Works and Building Safety!

We have several game-mechanical things we want to decree and/or remind:

1. There are several ways of gaining IC: the minor ones are culture and gaining certain level. The major one has been converting the aged luxuries from buildings, to items of that year. This has lead to rather artificial scenarios of stripping almost new furnishings and converting them to wine or silver.
It is over now! From now on, IC will only be gained in connection with an actual structural repair project, where the old fittings are carefully converted to items, to be used directly, or exchanged for silver or wine from the foreigners (no change to the mechanism). Mere looting of luxuries does not yield IC. Furthermore, as there already has been a moratorium of 1 year for successive building projects, this one has now been lengthened to 4 years. In practice, since we are living the year 1604 now, only the buildings that have been last repaired 1600 or earlier, are eligible for new changes. (Only 42% of all /BLDG currently are eligible.)

2. IC will be less used in the future, since domestic production gains hold. The main uses for IC stay:
- Wine
- Silver
- Personal unique items
- Hats
- Boots
- Swords and PPG
- Fabric items
- Works of Art
The following will be purchasable as imports with IC, or domestically using money (the producer may have needed IC; not all are currently being produced):
- remolding of gold and silver
- bronze and brass items
- wood items
- books
- horses
- carriages
These can only be purchased with money(monopoly):
- suits

Therefore, the IC will continue to be useful and valuable. New players' IC schedule will be to gain 10 personal IC quite soon after registration, and this will have to be used for items. Later they get 10 childhood IC, which may be personal items or valuables such as old wine or silver. Later promotions will not yield as much IC as the ancients got (30 upon Master and 50 upon Baron). Tba. It is also on the drawing board if culture would have a continuous dividend of IC (either accumulated culture, or newly generated culture).

3. RWWC price has been reduced to 350,000, and stone can be had in most boroughs (1, 2, 3, 5) for 150!

4. To ensure building safety, the Town building height tax will start effect when the roofline is higher than 15 m. The term is quite misleading though (should be called ceilingline..) because it is calculated from the ceiling of the highest common level. The reason it is such, is that building nice and durable roofs would not be prohibitively expensive. Flat roofs have not been very suitable for our post-quake climate conditions.

Promotions in the Kingdom

Lord Hokusai has been created Earl (of XX). "Earl Hokusai's record in the service of the Kingdom and CryptoTown has been spotless. (There is a sockpuppet penalty a some time still, without which the Earl might have been promoted a while ago already."

HSH, The Prince of OZ is delighted to hear the news of HM's elevation of his good friend, Lord Hokusai, to the rank of Earl. The new Earl of Ghibli is a most excellent fellow, skilled in multiple artistic disciplines, and expert in the art of war as a fully trained Samurai. A true renaissance man!

There is now reason for a combined celebration; the grand opening of the new Drama Palace, expertly designed by the Royal Architects, will feature a performance of Kabuki dance-drama, the newest sensation sweeping the land of Hokusai's birth.

HSH would also like to purchase 1000 CKG and have it transferred to The Earl of Ghibli as a gift.
