Very nice post for newbies... personally I used in the past a paper wallet but it's really too complicated for everyday usage so I prefer an hardware one. I'm actually using a Ledger Nano S without any problems and it's not so complicated.

Maybe it will seem to someone too paranoid, but I want to say that I trust my cryptocurrency only to my hardware wallet. My Tresor is the only wallet I use to store my cryptocurrency, and it really gives me a sense of security. I have never used and will not use any online wallets.

Good work OP !
I do see you are listing bitcoin-core after Exodus under desktop category. I mean official things need to be prioritized. I checked twice like you are listing alphabetical or in any order, I am sorry I am just finding that you are listing pure randomly or based on the order your preferences like your exposure on those wallets.

I like this topic, because you also provided pros and cons of each wallets. That must be a new thing as far as I am concerned. Like to see more elaborated advantages and disadvantages for all category.

This is my usual reference for gaining knowledge on latest wallets info : https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
Now, I have bookmarked this topic too.

I have used both JAXX and EXODUS wallets and those handle lots of top coins. Coinomi handles lot more than these two but it is for mobiles only. Atomic wallet is another new wallet that handles hundreds of coins and their token trades on CMC too. Everyone knows about MEW for ERC20 tokens but use mycrypto.com wallet instead that is a team split from MEW and has a more secure and downloadable offline wallet.

This information will be helpful to those who just started investing in cryptocurrency. Choosing a wallet is one of the most critical part when investing but I would advice anyone to do their own resesrch before using that wallet. Researching about the user's feedback and its customer service support are very important to me. I would advice using Jaxx, Coinomi and Exodus because they are friendly user and have an amazing customer support.
I just heard the jaxx, coinomi and exodus wallet. Maybe you give a good suggestion, then I'll try what you say to use the wallet. And the important thing in all things is certainly the wallet. Because this is important for finance.

I think the most useful one is Myetherwallet. I am using this wallet for ages and have never experienced any problems with it. But I think due to a very high amount of scammers in this industry it is definitely safer to buy a cold wallet and never to struggle about any security questions anymore.

MEW is for your eth tokens. Been using that for years already. So far no hiccups encountered. And I prefer the bitcoin core wallet if you are a bitcoin holder. The transaction fee is very very cheap as compared to when you are storing to an exchange and withdraw from them. Aside from the fact that holding your btc is much safer in your wallet.

Hardware wallets are top of the line for security.  I personally like the nano-ledger, but any of these hardware wallets is better that a regular paper wallet or the obvious exchange wallets.  However, some coins cannot yet be stored on hardware wallets so desktop wallets are probably the next best option and sometimes the only option. Remember it’s not always just about the wallet, but how secure you help make the wallet with passwords and/or paraphrases. I recommend making very obnoxiously long tedious passwords/paraphrase.  This just helps add an extra layer of security. I usually use at minimum of 30+ jibberish words for a password. ALWAYS write these passwords down and keep them in a safe and secure place.

These days there are wallets with functionalities of atomic swaps fully secured with revolutionary features. There is no need of having multiple wallets when you can actually have one and enjoy top notch features. One of such wallet is the atomic swap wallet and Thor Swap wallets. These two wallets give their users instant exchange features, they have been designed to provide conversion support to users making it easier for users to hold different kinds of tokens/digital assets and enjoy the luxury of switching between assets when needed.

Almost all the project now are now creating their unique wallet app. Many don't want to build on other wallets again.  But one of the problems I have noticed within a little time I have participated in the project of such is that, it's like they rushed in making their wallet app. It is either the wallet is not working well or is not supported on a lot of phones.  This has really given a lot of problems unlike ETH wallet, Stellar lumen wallet and EOS wallet that I used with ease.  Any project with the aim of developing their own wallet should do it properly to avoid unnecessary difficulties for both investors and hunters.

I do not understand why so many wallets are needed, I have always used only MyEtherWallet and Trezor. For all the time of use, there were no problems.

A good article from the operator. I can always refer to this thread from my bookmarks whenever I am in need of any into on wallets.
I just started using paper wallet through a particular bounty I participated in, which is on its own block chain.
Presently, I do not yet know how to use it, because it is my first exposure.
I just feel now that my fear was normal. All I need is a normal procedure, which should not be difficult.

A pretty good selection of wallets, but I would not dare to use half of them. For my needs, MEW and MyCrypto are quite enough. The greater the number of wallets you use, the higher the risk of hacking one of them.
Not really, in fact using more various wallet to save your funds will decentralize your money even further. It is like not putting everything in the same place by that you can minimize the risk of losing all the money.
Many people also recommend to split your money into various address and could be different wallet aswell.
