I think many investors of Bitcoin are not ready to flip it, they are of the opinion that it will moon soon and this make stick to hodling it. With the way market is for sometime, am also of the opinion that the bull run is very near and one must not throw away its assets.
crypto almost dies at the end of the year, so is the risk of crypto and ico investments lately. if at the end of the year it doesn't improve, I think the end of crypto is indeed near.
It has died before also but it has come back and rise more, that is the nature of investing, you see a price dropped and you see a price pump, what's necessary is that you stick with your strategy and a good strategy includes long term investment which would help you to hold.

Alot of so called ''investors'' are teens who watch youtube videos about how crypto can make you rich very fast . Just take a look at telegram channels when you see Token price drop from ICO price like 10 times , they will call it scam or failed project . Always before investing in any project you should do some research on project and invest only what you can afford to lose . So when your tokens value goes from 1k to 50$ you will not make dumb decisions , like most people do =D
Not all type of investment is up all the time, there is a time a type of investment is on downside and there is a time for investment to be on upside, not all the time its Up sometimes it needs to go down because bitcoin is volatile and it haven't experience correction when it was on 20k, who knows when will the price go up again, you dont get instant profit from any type of investment it requires time and also you need to take a risk, naturally cryptocurrency has the highest risk because of how fast it goes down.

Personally i think that everyone is disappointed due to months of bearish market and now months of ranging market, everyone is missing the bulls as well as the volatility that crypto was famous for, so both the investors and traders are not happy with the market aituation at the moment but at the same time everyone is waiting for a big breakout and recovery in the market that can start by the end of this month or the start of next month.
In any kind of down trend or bear market the ones that are really affected are the small time investors / players that entered the market while its at its peak because the have seen their assets plummet to the point that they cannot compensate for their initial investment and become in debts, however if the investor knows when to enter a market even when the market is in a down trend then they can have profits. We know, many things that affect the market situation.. 2018 i think a lot of holder (including investor) loss his money because price some crypto is going down significantly.. nobody want this market situation, including investor..
