4.38 RR, not very much imoressive. Losing one or two more wicket earlier can lead NZ to a small score. Two new batsman are in the pitch. I guess it will be tough for NZ to score more than 250 from this situation.
New Zealand should score more than 250 runs. They are playing slow. Not sure if this is the pitch but one have to say that English bowlers are bowling very well. My hope for sharing the first place is still alive :-)

Okay here I see an issue, I need feedback:

More than one winner in the same category share the prize equally.

How are you guys translating it? I am asking because we have very good chance to see three members may have the same points for the first place if New Zealand wins.

How do we share the price then:

~ Add the prize for 1 to 3 and then divide them by three for the top three?
~ Divide the prize of first place only by three? In this case we will see more people in the winning list and will share the prize. We may also see 1st place users were getting less prize amount than 2nd or even third place holder :-P

Sorry, I never thought that we will have that close competition which will need more clear terms.

In case of a tie in the first position, ignore all those who are tied and give the prizes to 6th , 7th and 8th position. Grin
Or you may divide the prize to the first 10 toppers . Cheesy  (Easy for you to calculate)

England is bowling better than the other match they did, probably the pitch is helping as well. However, pitch will not help much NZ later I guess.

I have a feeling that Martin Guptil will be destructive today. He was totally in off form during this ICC and he will take revenge of all of them  Cheesy
If NZ can score 280+, it will be pretty fighting score, as like JSRAW said, chasing in a world cup will be more pressure and chance that NZ will lift the cup(if score is 280+)

Remember it is a world cup final and there will be immense pressure on the other team if they managed to score above 250. I am hoping for NZ to make only 250 and rest i am sure that their bowlers will restrict England.
By the way NZ has got a good start and with more wickets in hand, they can take the upper hand later in the innings.

I was expecting a good innings from Guptil, he has passed one of his bad tournament. He was one of the key batsman for NZ.
I don't think score will be 300, as usual, NZ always have gotten a lower score.

Inspite of losing Guptill Nz have started on a cautious note which is. Good thing . As slowly they busily their innings they will pick up the momentum and in later stage they can hit and score runs . Thus chasing second in finals anything above 300 is huge task .

Guptili gone.

He needs to contribute in the fielding
Did Guptill even score more than 100 runs in this tournament? It baffles me why the New Zealand selectors would select him as the top order batsman when he is clearly in ths worst form of his life.

Time to see who is the greatest choker of all LOL
Yup. Am expecting England to choke just like India as long as Henry, Boult and Ferguson continue bowling well just as they have done through out the tournament so far.

The final is here and i expected a good tight match as New Zealand also has a good bowling unit in the conditions here, England started really well and bowling a really tight line and length and the batsmen are struggling to score runs and with the added pressure of the finals i expect New Zealand to score around 225 runs and if that is the case England will chase it easily, England usually chokes under pressure but this is a different outfit of players who are not afraid to take risk, either way England will lift the world cup Smiley.

NZ started off their innings pretty solid and I hope this will be a pretty good shots to be watched by today.I thought they would go for bowl first because on big matches chasing will be easier than setting a target to defend.

WOW! Good to see everyone except one member picked their team in superbru!! It's vennali and where are you?!!!

I was in the race very well but those two semi kicked me out of the competition LOL. pffrt and Harkorede seems to be the possible first place?

Here we stand before the final starts:

Good luck to for race to the first place in the pool :-)

Edit:

Game on!!! :-P

Seems like if by any chance New Zealand wins then I ether may share same point with pffrt and Harkorede or will lead by one point :-)

Hopefully England is going to repeat their history :-D

Choosing batting first can backfire too, if ball seam and English seamer are good in this world cup so far. so i am not holding breathe for any team, its game of nerves from here.

I share the same sentiment, I think NZ have a slight advantage now by choosing to bat first. Except if England can start very strongly like they did in semi finals

I am still going for England today, can't back out Cheesy

I will go for the major tournaments/series like Champions trophy, Asia cup, Ashes  etc. That would be fun.

Regarding new pools, my suggestion.

Guys after world cup, what's your plan for new pools?  Ashes coming soon.
I would love to see if Royse make another pool on Ashes and all the upcoming major cricket tournaments. Even the pool without prize money will be ok.
Really we have developed a nice little community here and it is really nice to see all of us contributing and throwing insights on the cricket matches.
A pool is necessary to keep all of us together.  Tongue

Not sure if its good idea or not, to have multiple threads for every bilateral series. We already have one dedicated thread for this.

But in case we are betting for fun then, I suggest one extra dedicated thread for all betting - it can be for bilateral series as well -

I understand it can get confusing for us after 4-5 series, but we can tackle this situation if OP reserve couple of pages for pool's descriptions and move pool details at last when it serves its purpose.

PS : It's Just a suggestion, let other members chip in too. Maybe we can come on the same page after the discussion.

Kiwis opt to bat Cheesy now i am nervous lol

My fav is England for today as usual. this toss could be crucial if we look at pressure when chasing. hoping for cracker today Tongue

You would be the best choice to host these pools just like the current one and the previous IPL one in my opinion. Had a lot of fun discussing various aspects of Cricket in these pools and would definitely want to continue doing the same in the future.

Many people from Asia will probably skip it due to their respective teams not qualifying, but I will definitely watch it. I do hope that this won't be one sided though.
It's world cup final. I think every cricket lover will be waiting for this match no matter what teams are playing. I can not wait for the game to start.
Right, its the biggest tournament of cricket so one who love cricket will watch it even if their country is not a part of final.Only few hours left so keep patience.

England has played a fantastic cricket so far, NZ as well. Both team deserves the trophy. England had played final 3 times but never won one. NZ had played final only the last edition of ICC, they probably have played semi 5 times before in 2015 edition. Both the team were always so unlucky to lift a cup.
With observing as of now, I would say England is the most favorite but who knows? NZ can upset any team with their significant bowling.

England has a very strong batting lineup that can destroy any bowling on their given day, but earlier in the tournament their batting did fail them so it’ll be interesting to see how they bet today. New Zealand strength is their bowling and their ability to keep calm under pressure, so it’ll be advantage to New Zealand if the match reaches a crucial stage. Whichever teams wins the toss will most likely win the game, as teams batting first have won most games in this tournament.
