Tough to predict, to be honest, I still didn't pick my team in the pool and thinking what to do. I was leading the pool for a long time but now aftet the 2nd semi, harkorede has gotten the same point (I'm still leading since I'm higher in TDM). However, I will pick England at the end probably because they are the hosting country, and their performance is significant. Let's see what happen.

Well said. We are going to witness the rise of a new champion as Australia passes the trophy to England or New Zealand, but expecting England to win just because they are a stronger team is a fool's gambit.

Another upset can happen and New Zealand can rise. The team that barely qualified could end up becoming the new World champion. Exciting times!

The best reason why people are happy this time is because that this time we will have first time new champions in the World Cup which have being waiting for long years . Nz last time missed it and will they be able to conquer this time or will they be runners up ?

Cricket is a game which is played only in few countries and all the big cricket playing nations should have the experience of winning the world cup. England, NZ and South Africa are the three big teams who are yet to win this title. After that it might be the turn for Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

I will join next time if any pool is hosted. But I don't think we will get many people here since in normal series, people barely join the discussion. After world cup, Bangladesh will have a series against Srilanka in Srilanka. Can we create one for that series?

Well, will it not be difficult to create pool for every series. India will also be having series with WI and Australia will play Ashes with England too.
To simply the things we can make pool for the tri-series involving at least 3 countries. What do you people say about it ? The Exception can be given to the Ashes series or India Visit to Aussie etc ( Major Series).

Anyway, tomorrow we will see a new world champion. Can England defeat their history? They invented this game but never had the luck to lift the world cup ever.

On paper at least, England is the favorite. Their team balance is much better than that of New Zealand. Both the bowlers and the batsmen are in top form. But for New Zealand they are still facing issues with batting. But then again, the team batting first will be having an unfair advantage. So in my opinion, if NZ wins the toss and decides to bat first, then they may be having a fighting chance.

The rain gods have helped the dark horse against their match with India and rain interrupted most of the group stage matches and if every match was played i really doubt whether New Zealand would be in the semi finals considering Pakistan had same points even though they shared points for two matches and one would have being a certain victory against Srilanka.

That is true. Rain has definitely been a critical factor in helping New Zealand in so many ways. I feel that India could have easily chased down 240 if they continued playing on the 1st day itself.

England have lost twice in the finals so far, but this could be their 3rd successive loss unless they play really well against the dark horse of this tournament. Exciting.
